Hi ladies!!

I am sooo sorry it has been so long since my last post! I started a new job & the past few weeks have been so busy! I am starting to get into a routine, which figures since i am on vacation next week & will lose all my progress. Haha. I have been having a difficult time fitting in work outs, but I decided, starting tomorrow, to start getting up early & getting my work out done before work so i cant make excuses when I get home. I am still doing well eating on calories, it is just my work outs that have been suffering. Luckily, I am on my feet all day at my new job so i have still managed to stay on track with my weight loss. Today marks the end of my second month & I am already down 21.2lbs!!!

Hope you all are doing well!! Any new baby plans?! :)

I feel awful that I haven't posted here in awhile. The last couple of weeks have not been good food and exercise wise but I'm committed to getting back on track. I've come to far to give up now. And I want to get to two-terville so bad! I have set up an exercise plan for the week so I'm looking forward to meeting those goals and of course the goal of tracking food every day.

My husband is leaving me in two weeks to go back home to work so we are going to be apart for two months. In the grand scheme of thing it will go by quickly, but I want to make sure I'm in a good place eating/exercise wise before he leaves. I don't want to get off track while being left to my own devices! Hopefully I'll be on here a lot more!

By the way, I found out last night that my younger sister is buying a house. I am really happy for her and her fiance, but I am also really struggling with 'house & baby envy.' She is 5 years younger than me and already has a job, a child, and now a house. I guess I just feel behind & am frustrated that we aren't in a place financially, physically or job-wise for either a child or a house, so I feel as if I am treading water. My hubs is working on his doctorate & only has a year left, but I am still struggling with wanting to fast forward time. I know I need to focus on myself right now as well as my hubby and our finances, but sometimes I get so impatient!! Sorry to vent, but I just needed to get it out to people who are also in a similar waiting period waiting to try for baby. Thanks for listening!

Great job with the weight loss, Kjulian! Hope you are feeling better!

Zandraak-Thanks for the support! My family lives in western NY, near Rochester, but I did got to college down closer to the city in a town called Oneonta. How are you liking it??

As for my weigh in for this week, I am a few days late due to starting a new job. It has been a super busy week! My weight on Monday was not a surprise-I maintained from the week before & am still at 337.4. Not great, but after a bad week of eating & not working out, I will definitely take it! This week I am back oń track & kicking butt!! I am really hoping to be between 335-336 this coming Sunday, so wish me luck!! emoticon

Weigh in time!

I weighed in at 166.8 pounds, a 1.6 decrease from last week. Not as much as I like, but since I am STILL recovering from this cold I will take it!

Wonderful job on losing 2 pounds this week!!! Where does your family live in NY? I'm temporarily in NYC for school for three more months.

I'm happy to say I've been tracking for the last two days and feeling really good about my choices. I'm a little under the weather with a cold and have no voice but otherwise feel pretty good. I can tell it's going to be a good week!

And thanks for reminding us to keep our eye on the prize!!

Hello again, ladies!! Good job on the weight loss/minimal weight gain this week! It was a very rough week for me, as well. It was my birthday on Saturday, and I ended up not working out Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Uh oh!! I also was not even close to my calorie goal any of those days! Luckily, my hard work at the beginning of last week kept me from gaining, and instead I am down another 2lbs this week! I am at 337.6lbs! Woohoo!!

I really, really need to get back into my routine this week, though. I am concerned it will be another hard week and it will catch up to me on the scale next Monday at weigh-in, though. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day & then we are heading to NY to visit my family from Friday-Sunday, which means no working out all weekend and eating very poorly at least 3/7 days this week. Sigh...

Anyways, my goal for this week is to maintain & not go above 338! I want to be within the 336-338 range by the end of this week. I think that is a realistic goal & I really hope it happens.

Good luck getting back into the routine this week & just try to remind yourself why we are doing this: we want to have healthy pregnancies in just a few months!! February is almost over & we are all hoping to start trying soon, so we really need to get out butts in gear for our babies!! emoticon

Weigh in day as well for me! I Gained 0.8 pounds... oh no!

On the bright side, I expected it to be a LOT worse considering what a terrible week I had. I'm not going to let the numbers define me, and I am going to do better this coming week.

Weigh-in day! I lost a whopping 0.2 pounds this week for one reason: I haven't been tracking. Boo. But I'm back tracking today and I'm determined to turn this around. Plus I lost something - I believe that is because I've been pretty active this week walking a lot more than usual. The weather was nice and I took a few nice long walks. There were days where I wasn't really feeling well, but I'm feeling better now and I'm ready to attack this next week.

I normally weigh in on Sunday morning, and I am scared to weigh in this week! After having such a good week the last two weeks, I screwed up waaaay too much this week. My period came and I gave in way too much to cravings.

At this point I feel I will just be happy to not gain anything and just stay where I am. Hoping I can do some damage control Friday and Saturday. To make things worse I am battling a bad cold and I don't feel I can exercise right now with all the gunk in my lungs.

What an awful week. Sorry, just had to rant!

MOMIN09 - No, that's a good point, and I had already thought about it. Personally I was just thinking about something like a cute pair of socks, or a little hat, just something small and that wouldn't depend much on season or gender.

I don't want to be the downer about the idea of getting something baby for every 10 lbs lost. I think it's a great idea, but just wanted to make sure to let you know to be careful with buying clothes for a baby that isn't around yet. You never know what season they will be born in and what sizes they will be.
Just wanted to put that thought into the heads of those planning on doing this.

Hello Ladies! Can I join this thread?

A bit about me, I am currently 27 and my SO is 28. We will be trying in late September/Early October (predictions say I would be fertile Oct 5th is everything keeps the way it is). I went off of birth control a few months ago and we are currently using condoms. I am tracking temps and cervical fluid so that I know my cycle and when the time comes hopefully we will hit it perfectly!

I am currently 267.6 and according to spark people, if I work my butt off between now and then I could be 190 by the time we start TTC. That seems mind-boggling but I am sure as heck doing my best to meet that goal! This last week I finally busted out of the 270s.

I don't take prenatals yet, but I do take folic acid.

I love the idea of buying yourself a small baby item for every ten pounds. It sounds like an adorable excuse to buy those cute outfits or booties I pass that are on sale.

Sorry this went so long! I was just excited to see this little group forming here. Good luck to all you ladies with your goals!

So I started taking pre-natals last week! I ended up getting the CVS generic that has one regular pill and one DHA pill. I'm also taking some extra calcium. I also stopped taking the pill this month although weirdly I have not gotten any period yet, so that's pretty weird. But anyway trying to get things on track!

I also lost one pound this week - which I'm happy about! I was a lot more active this week going for walks almost every day even though I haven't been doing so much dedicated exercise. I've been feeling a little under the weather so hopefully that turns around soon.

Here's to another good week!

Not sure about which pre-natals I was planning on...I will let you know when I do some more research!

As for my weigh-in, I am finally out of the 340s!!! I weigh 339.4lbs!!! The weight loss is definitely starting to slow down, do you ladies have any ideas on how to make it pick back up? I typically eat between 1700-1800 calories per day & do 20-30 minutes of cardio each day. Any suggestions would be great!

Since I hit my first "mini goal" of 340lbs, I bought an adorable Christmas outfit for our future baby! I am giving myself baby-related rewards for every "mini goal of 10lbs" and it is a nice way to break up the massive amount of weight that I am actually trying to lose!

Hope your February is going very well so far!!

Hi there! Right now I am taking 'Walgreens Pharmacist's Support Prenatal+DHA Dietary Supplement' http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens

Hi CDJLDEAN! Thanks for joining in on our convo!

I have also heard to start pre-natals around 3-6 months before. I am actually super excited to start them because, like CDJLDEAN, they will be a great reminder & mean the time to start trying is soon!!! I have done a little research on them, but havent' decided which kind to take yet. CDJLDEAN-what kind do you take?

Anywho, the scale FINALLY moved & I am much happier with how I am ending my January weigh-in! So thei is my re-weigh in for this week (haha!): 340.8lbs!! So my total for January is 13.2lbs! Much better!

Thanks for the encouragement & good luck staying under calories this week! emoticon

Way to stay positive Zandraak! I find the food to be the harder part as well. I have read that you should start taking prenatals 3-6 months before TTC. When I take them, it is a nice motivating reminder of my goal. Good Luck!

Hi! My weigh-in this week was EXACTlY what it was last week down to the tenth of a pound. 312.6 again. But I'm determined that it won't be that way this week. I ate over my calories most days, not horribly, but it still makes a big difference. I feel like for me it's 80-90% the eating. So I am not going to let this get me down and I'm going to make this week way better. It's really hard when you feel like you're working hard and don't get good results. But you have to push through!!! Hoping this will be a better week!

Side question - when do you think you will start taking pre-natals?

Hey again!!

My weigh in this week is: 341.6lbs! So I lost 1.6lbs since last week! I am a little frustrated because I worked my butt off all week! I worked out every day for at least 20 minutes & I only went over calories one day. Oh wel. This week is a new week!! My mini-goal for this week is to be out of the 340s & not og over on calories at all!!

Hope you are doing well!! :)

My weigh-in this week was 312.6. I'm so happy to be up only two pounds from my last weigh in before christmas which was 310.6. And I am SOOO done with the 300's. I can't wait to be out of them. I'm hoping to get under 310 this week. I also changed my calorie range to be a set range between 1600-1800. It was kind of driving me a little nuts how it seems like it would change so often, so I am going to stick with this this week and see how it goes. My goals for this week are to stay in my calorie range each day and to do three walk/runs.

Welcome, zandraak!!

We should all check in on each other every week & keep each other motivated! They say it takes 3 months to make healthy living become the norm so the next 2.5 months are the most important! I do my weigh-ins on Mondays, so maybe to keep myself even more accountable, I can post my weight loss each week on this forum. Would you guys want to do this as well?

I just got Zumba 2 for the Wii & boy is that an AWESOME workout!! Haha.
Talk soon & be good this weekend!!

Welcome! I am planning to start trying sometime this summer as well. I'd like to lose about 60 more pounds before then. I'm not really sure what weight my doctor would want me to get to before I start trying, but I'm planning to see her in June when I finish school.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Sometimes October seems so far away, and then other times it seems like it's just around the corner when i think of everything i want to get done before then.

Lalamanda, we should definitely keep in touch! Hopefully both of us will have babies in 2013, and be healthy at the same time :-D

Hi!!

Your story sounds similar to mine! My husband & I will be married for 3 years this coming August and we are going to start trying for Baby #1 in December of this year! I actually just called & scheduled my "pre-pregnancy" appointment for September 24th to make sure I am ready to go!

As of now, I am really overweight & just feel super unhealthy, which is obviously not ideal for being pregnant! I figure I have 11 months to get healthy for baby so I need to get my tush in gear! I am shooting for losing 80-100lbs before trying to get pregnant, so hopefully I can do that before December! Good luck on your journey! We should keep in touch! emoticon

Hi all!

In 9 months my husband and I plan on starting to try for a baby. I'm using these 9 months to prepare for the next 9 months (of course thats assuming that we get pregnant right away which rarely happens). We will be married for 2 years in oct. I'm 26 and my husband is 27.

Each month i'm making goals for myself, and if i achieve them then i get something. I've never tried the reward system, so i'm excited to see how it goes. This month my goals are:
at least 3 servings of fruit a day
at least 2 servings of dairy
cardio at least 3 times a week
yoga at least 2 times a week.

I'm excited to join you all!
