Sale was great - glad to see it go as it is a burden lifted! I'd held on to too many things being tired as was for years. Still have much cleaning/packing of stuff though. Will call for donation pick up.
Lunagirl - I've been doing my naturopath's "white" diet - nothing white: no flours (not even gf), no sugar, no dairy (milk, yogurt, cheeses, cottage cheese), bananas, potatoes, rice, anything corn, pasta. I have lost 7 lbs in 7 days. Sometimes I scramble for what to eat, esp since I haven't had time to get groceries, but I've managed to pick up the fruit. Lately I've not been eating enough calories, but hope to eat more this week now that the garage sale is over. Keep us posted on how you're doing.
Be curious! If health is wealth, I'm aiming to be stinking rich!

Thanks for sharing your experience, Lunagirl. It sounds a lot like what I have been through. I am also amazed at what a difference can be made with the foods that we eat. It's very comforting for me to know that I can control it--without drugs.
I joined SparkPeople several weeks ago and am just now getting around to the message boards. I'm so happy to have found this group! Six years ago I was a classic type A, 90+ hour work week overachiever. Overnight, I experienced a serious crash energetically, and my life came to a grinding halt. Six months of doctors, specialists and tests eventually led to a diagnosis of depression. Of course, after months of barely functioning I was depressed! Four years of barely living followed until I found a wonderful doctor who determined I have CFS. Part of my treatment was to eliminate foods most people are sensitive to. I learned I am sensitive to gluten, dairy and corn. I've been GF for nearly a year now...long enough to really experience the benefits of avoiding gluten, so therefore I happily do so. It amazes me that dietary changes can have such a positive impact on one's health! I'm now back to work part-time and pursuing a degree in Nursing one class at a time. As fatigue is still a major factor, the rest of my time is usually spent recovering from those pursuits! I joined SparkPeople to try and lose the 100 extra pounds that crept on during my years of inactivity. I look forward to sharing our journeys together and will post some of my favorite GF recipes soon.
