I am gluten free myself, and yes, its pretty amazing what gluten is in.

Welcome! It is definitely worth watching out for gluten in order to feel better. Stick to plain fruit, vegetables and protein sources and it will get easier. I also make pancakes with almond flour and muffins with quinoa flakes when I want to add a few more carbs. Congrats on the weight loss so far!

Hello! I'm Heather, 35, and I have not been diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. I recently went to an endocrinologist for my PCOS and that led to a nutritionist, who suggested I try going gluten-free to see if it helped with losing weight.

The first month, I lost 11 pounds, which I'm really happy about. I had also cut my calories, which helped with the weight loss, too. But I noticed that some things that had bothered me, like bloating and gastro distress, disappeared when I eliminated gluten. So, I'm sticking with it.

I was never a big bread eater, so I thought it would be an easy adjustment. It wasn't! I didn't realize that gluten really is in everything! It's been frustrating and requires a greater focus on ingredients, but that's a good thing anyway.

I look forward to learning more from this group as everyone seems to have a different story and perspective.
