Hi! I've had Celiac for 24 years, diabetes for 20. I'm here to lose a couple pounds and learn about products for a healthy GF lifestyle and get meal ideas. I currently live in Southern CA. I really like Schar bread as it's not dense and has 70 calories a slice instead of 200 like some GF breads. It also comes in GF multigrain variety.
I don't have an oven, so I can't make my own bread products. I'd love to read some reviews on GF prducts that aren't dense calorie bombs, and any info on restaurants that have tasty GF meal options. It's really nice to have a place to talk about eating GF and staying slim and fit. I look forward to what everyone has to say!

A lot of us do gain. There are reasons why, including thyroid issues which are common, GF substitute foods being not so healthy, our bodies trying to get every nutrient it can while healing, and additional food allergies to name a few. There are a lot of factors for sure. Unfortunately itis trial and error!
Hello: I started gaining weight about 5 years ago, right before I turned 5O, even though I continued to run and work out 3 hours a day and maintain a diet of less than 1500 calories. My hair started thinning, I developed foggy memory, my blood pressure started getting higher until I was diagnosed with hypertension. I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism nearly 3 years ago. I have been on synthroid since 2009 and Vitamin D for a year. Both are within normal range. Yet, when I run, I stlll feel like a battery that can't hold a charge--like trying to run through water or running with a heavy coat on. I have been gluten free for almost 2 months, I my memory is getting better, fog is lifting. My energy is gradually getting better, but still not losing weight. Has anyone else experienced this. Has anyone lost weight from being gf?
