Welcome to this site and see that you have already got some good advise. I have been gf for two years. I went in July of 2009 to get tested and forgot that I had been gf for about a month so everything showed negative. I could of went back to gluten but did not like getting sick so decided to stay gf and feel so much better.
It is wise to get tested before going gf and you may want to get an endoscopy (if your insurance covers it) and have them take quite a few biopsies.
Good luck to you and keep us posted on how you are doing, and if you do get tested let us know what the results are.
You mentioned that your mother and grandfather had IBS. Alot of times dr's will diagnose that as they are not sure of the actual problems. This is a very hard disease to diagnose unless you are extremely sick. This happened to my sister and she was diagnosed over 20 yrs ago and was extremely sick and was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease.

As was recommended to me, if you have a doctor go get a blood test before giving up gluten. You can ask your doctor to be tested for Celiac Disease. If you have Celiac or are gluten intolerant, well eating wheat after giving it up can be very painful.

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit. Not sure if I am but I have read a lot of posts on here and sounds so much like my issues. I notice that I am full of energy when I wake up and then as I go through the day, the more I eat the worse and more tired I feel. Sometimes at the point where I HAVE to take a nap. A lot of bathroom trips during the day. Pain, bloating gas , burping, look pregnant at times. I think my mother has it although she was diagnosed with IBS...and my grandfather also had IBS...Im thinking it was a miss diagnosed. I dont have any skin issues though. I dont know but I know its bad enough to make me feel like crap all the time. This started a couple yrs ago then got worse over time. A few months ago it got to the point where I couldnt digest anything, severe bloating, throwing up a little.Started taking BEANO which helps a little. Very little, but it does help. I went to a natural medicine store once yrs ago and she gave me enzymes and suggested I had a digestive issue because I would get pain in my intestines. So anyway...this is very possible for me. Its just getting worse as I get older. So if it isnt Celiac its def. something , maybe gluten sensitivity.
Every day is a chance to build momentum or to slack. Every day, you have to decide to make the right choices.
