I agree with what the others said about not going GF yet for the reason that if you get tested and it comes back negative because you stopped eating gluten then you may never know if you do have it. I know that you will be hurting but eat just a little of the grains until they do the gluten test on you

Dorothy

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

Don't go GF until you get tested, it can make you test negative.
Also there's over 300 symptoms and some are opposites so doubt you have all but one; but don't doubt that you might have CD.

Good luck with your Dr and journey. keep us posted, we were all in your shoes at one time.

I went to a naturopath that was recommended by a staff member at my natures market store. My testing was done by a local hospital lab...Celiac blood work and Elysa allergy testing were very accurate and have helped my recovery. I still am under care of regular physician but found that different doctors with different specialties were quite helpful. Barb

If you can, ask around or look on the internet for a doctor who seems skilled in this area. Even with a skilled nurse practitioner I've had to discover a lot on my own. It sounds like you need a food elimination diet where you start off with foods that don't typically irritate and then slowly add in others (check internet). My intolerances don't seem to show up on allergy tests. So, it's only been through trial and error I have figured things out. Started with no cheddar or blue cheese, then no gluten, only recently no dairy. Wishing you success in finding the triggers.

Hope you get into the Doctor this week. Ask your doctor to do celiac blood work and if that doctor won't help you....find another. You sound miserable and that is no fun. Supplements you can try are Acidophillus and Quercitin with bromelain to see if they will stop your gut irritation but to get rid of all symptoms takes time and stopping what your immune system doesn't like! Let us know how your doing. Smiles Barb

Not everyone who bloats up has celiac. I do not, and yet I can't tolerate wheat, and so stay mostly GF. I can eat some things which others can't, but I went totally GF, though the naturopath didn't say I needed to do so. My doctor just treated me for IBS and didn't even think about it.
Also, do you have a hypothyroid problem? Many who do, especially those with Hashimoto's disease have a gluten intolerance. For some, dairy is a problem. I tried that first, and it was like I hadn't done anything.
There are many protein powders out there, and if you buy one, read the ingredients. I can't do much soy, so I use a whey or a hemp one. Don't spend too much money, as you may just hate the taste, and then are stuck with a lot of something.
Good luck, and yes, demand to be tested for foods, but be aware that if you don't actually have celiac, your doctor may blow you off again.

On Monday when you call your doctor I would demand seeing her that day stating it is an emergency. If you cannot eat, it is an emergency. If you have an health store near you or
a Whole Foods or a Sprouts go on Sunday and ask the person in the Vitamin section about
what protein drink you can take. Explain you would like it gluten-free. This is your health!
You have a right to see your doctor. I will be praying for you. Please keep us updated.
GOD BLESS!
Louise

Vega makes a vegan protein powder. No allergens at all. Personally, I use Kaizen all natural whey powder. It is GF.

You definately don't need a doctor's permission to stop eating certain foods if you think they are making you sick. Go Gluten Free. If you feel better, stick with it. If it doesn't help, then go to the doctor and demand tests.

Being a Christian isn't about religion. It's about a relationship with the One who made us. I'm so thankful to be one of His.

Demand, and that is exactly what I mean, Demand a blood test! Ask to be tested for Celiac. A doctor is there to treat you and needs to listen to you. Also, if you don't think it is Celiac then tell them what you think you have and Demand to be tested.

Worked for me recently. Good luck!!

I have recently done some research on Celiac and realized I have all but 1 symptom. I have had stomach problems ever since I was a baby, but it seems like doctors just dont take the time to figure out the problem and just blame it on other things.. Im now 27 years old and within the past week ive gotten extremely sick with my stomach. Everytime I eat I feel nauseas , my headaches have increased within the last month more than they ever had and im more gassy than usual. I have also been having stomach pain. My stomach blows up everytime I eat I feel and look like im 9 months pregnant all over again. I went to the er the other day and they gave me pain medicine and nausea medicine thru iv and sent me home and said it was the flu. Im going to try to get into my doctor and talk to her about my concerns and what I feel the problem is but it just seems no takes me serious about my stomach problems . I sometimes feel like the only way they will listen isif I lost an extreme amount of weight and actually look sick cause it seems all people look at is the outside and say well ur fat so ur fine. What do I do if my doctor doesnt agree and thinks its what all the docs say which is irritable bowel , i have more celiac symptoms than ibs symptoms when it comes down to it. I cant seem to eat anything without feeling sick is there a powder protein mix gluten free that I can drink instead of eating til I can get into my doctor. Im going to try to get an appointment monday or tuesday if shes available but i need something in my stomach til then got any suggestions?
