Thanks everyone! Margie, we have the same name (I just spell it differently!). I am going to try going GF for a week (well, one day at a time), and see if it helps. I am really nervous, because I tend to be a bit rebellious when I try to restrict food items from my diet. I'm going to a picnic today, and I am a vegetarian, but I know they are going to make veggie burgers for me, and those always have gluten in them. I'm not sure how to politely decline, since I'm sure they are making them just for me. I am making a black bean mango quinoa salad, so hopefully I'll feel comfortable eating that instead... This might prove to be a very difficult thing to deal with socially, you know?

Dotslady and DJ4HEALTH, Oh thank you Sweet Ladies, for stepping in to explain pos/ neg values and a celiac viewpoint I do not currently have.

Congrats, Rusty Angel, on your remission; it sure helps to see and feel improvement when the tests do not show a positive change. I have placed a pout on my own face when a test comes back with a different result than I expected. It is like the scale verses the measuring tape, if one does not show the results the other one may when you really are trying!

Used2bgodess, I am not done yet.

When something in a symptom is gone, I want to celebrate. When some symptom is permanent, I cringe at the wallet expenses because most are NOT INSURANCE COVERED, even if I had insurance. My current problem is no money to cover healing expenses. I must do WITHOUT some very important things to get-by. I do beg, borrow or want to steal to see the hormones are taken. When I run out of my DHEA or 5-HTP, I literally cry. May be I do have the Serotonin Deficiency.

GREAT NEWS...
My last adrenal testing was done with-food-and-morning-adrenal hormones, not fasting. The results were positive response from my organs; this is great news! I do not make it but my body does work the following steps of using the hormones! I still provide 12 hours for sleep in mixed hours and usually resulting in less than seven total hours in true shut-eye alpha, delta, and R-E-M sleep per 24-hour period. Not every one has this stay home time to accomplish recovery. I give up a stress (job) for rest. I still have the five major signs of sleep depravation, as explained in my sleep blog. Yoga helps me unstress, work the lymph glands, and prepare of restful sleep.

Hello All,
Yes, you can absolutely be Celiac negative and still allergic to gluten. I have ulcerative colitis which is triggered by wheat gluten (along with a few other things).
One of my friends has MS, and eating wheat makes her symptoms worse.
I have another friend who has bad stomach aches when she eats gluten.
Celiac disease is only one way for a gluten allergy to express itself.
The good news is that by staying gluten-free I am in remission, no longer anemic, and my energy levels are slowly approching that of a healthy person.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can,

Therefore I can.

Knowing if you HAVE celiac disease is a personal choice and something to talk to your family and health care provider about. Having an(other) autoimmune disease can be important to know for future health care, telling other family members because it's genetic,e tc.

You may have gluten sensitivity which does not show positive blood labs. There are also people who are negative blood, but positive to biopsy and vice-versa. There are those who are positive to both. What I'm saying is that a negative test result does not rule out gluten damage.

You may have leaky gut which is not unheard of in fibromyalgia (and gluten sensitivity) and other autoimmune conditions. Gluten-free can definitely help heal that. I only recently figured out my pain was fibro and have been reading about it. I can tell you that for me, not everyone, that gf diet made a huge difference in my body-wide muscle aches. GF helped heal my gut so I could absorb nutrients again. Other food allergies should be investigated as well (like Margie said, and I wish I'd done this at the get-go: try an elimination diet)

You could also send a stool sample for gluten sensitivity to enterolab.com in Dallas. They are the only lab who does this. (Well, there are others, but I didn't save the info cause they were double the price. They probably send their samples to enterolab.)

You've got a lot of healing to do.

The answer to that is YES you can have a negative test and still have a gluten problem. That is one reason that they don't do the test as much because it does give neg results. The only true test is to go off all gluten and see how you feel after a couple of weeks.

I am negative and considered 'normal at a positive '3' for anti-gliaden antibody testing. I had all my hormones tested and gradually adjusted via NUTRITION and nutritional supplements, BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONES and SCIENTIFIC GUIDANCE. We test every few months to find all the symptoms and causes then verify and correct them.

We, my doctors and I have seen from 2006 until now many of my symptoms change gradually. The progress is slow and sometimes an assumption is wrong, keeping the 'in balance' goal in sight and always striving and improving to meet lab test guidelines and chart parameters has corrected my lifestyle and overall health. What I can do with food is limited. Often AVOIDANCE of CERTAIN FOODS, gluten being one of them, can make marvelous winning progressive steps. What I can do 'knowing what foods' cause harm to me, has taught me to adjust, to stop pain, cease destructive inflammation, and heal from the causes of digestive troubles. 'Out of balance' is the theme of need for corrective action.

There is NO MIRACLE PILL. Putting hormones and fluids and whole organs back 'into balance' is harmony worth working toward as the goal. Every one is different and many of the same causes in others; can be isolated from the masses of information of research to discover the actual causes that harm in each of us. At first, I had help creating a baseline of blood work measurements from a good doctor. Just taking extra vitamins and herbs was not enough. Then I found a pattern of testing and journaling in the challenging ROTATION DIET found on the allergy web site, HowtoUseaRotationDiet;Food-Allergy.orgwww.
food-allergy.org/rotation.html

Removing toxins, assisting the body with sound choices, and correcting the negatives could stop the backward direction of health. It is possible to find peace in a medical community of chaos and incomplete facts. There is cure for cancer. The basics of good sleep, good nutrition, good thoughts, and good spirit must be taught. They are not guaranteed. When these principles are a 'lifestyle' then overcoming pain is possible. You are not alone; YOU ARE LOVED.

The food industry and the medical/ pharmaceutical powers that bought the FDA laws and rulings are spending your dollar and spending your health to fatten their wallets. As Susan Powter says, "STOP THE INSANITY". Stop eating unfriendly food. Stop doing the harmful activities. Stop 'controlling' with prescription drugs what can be cured and corrected with nutrition and sane choices. The answers are out there; go get them.

If there is no pain then you do not need to pain reliever. In a toxic world of thought, deed and, spirit, balance is the goal, not money lost and more drugs to try. Heavy metals, parasites of bacteria, virus, fungus life, and artificial chemicals have us mentally trapped in their toxic grasp. Come out from among them, clean up the toxins, to find balance and harmony not found in your present state of being. Explore my blogs to see the common yet 'unique to me' causes and changes that help me GET BETTER every day.

Did they just test you for CD or did they do an IgG test as well? (I don't think those are the same...)

My daughter had a negative CD biopsy, but is symptom-free after going off gluten. We figure she'd get a positive on an IgG test.

I would ask to have my blood retested for CD. I know a person who was neg. and 8 years later tested positive. Unless you know you don't have the gene you can't rule it out.

I have pretty intense IBS, Fibromyalgia, fatigue, etc type of symptoms. I went to a gastro about 6 years ago, and had a Celiac test and colonoscopy, but all was negative. Now, 6 years later, my symptoms are worse than ever.

I am a vegetarian, and one issue i've noticed is that when I eat Seitan, which is essentially vital wheat gluten, I get very bad reactions that last days (intestinal and upper gastric).

So anyway, I'm wondering if it's possible to have a normal blood panel, but still be gluten sensitive or intolerant?? Any thoughts on this? I've had every test done under the sun,and the gastro just keeps calling it IBS... Thoughts??

Thank you!
