I can eat barley and malt, but not wheat. guess its just different for everyone.

I would have said I had most (gas) symptoms after rye (looking back). What food has only "barley malt" and not anything else gluteny? I can't remember the brand of rye crisp -a Norwegian 12" circular wasa-type cracker I used to eat, but it likely also had wheat come to think of it. Rye bread probably does, too (those dark heavy thin slices with turkey used to be a fave).

the wierd thing is, i can eat wheat and not have a problem, but barley, barley malt, or barley flour- SICK AS A DOG/ really inflamed intestines/the whole deal.
which is why im wondering if its just a barley allergy?

Barley and Barley Malt are Glutens that is why you have a problem with them.

does anyone have this allergy? i am aware barley is part of celiac/gluten allergy. i have been tested for celiac disease and am waiting for the results from my doctor. however, i find i feel sickest/stomach problems are the worst after consuming specifically Barley or barley malt in cereals.
