Welcome!! Doesn't it make you wonder how many people could decrease their arthritis symptoms if they went gluten free? I am casein free also and feel so much better. I wish I could have started eating this way when I was still in college. I think my brain would have worked better and I wouldn't have been so moody.
Welcome to the list AJ. I have been GF for 10 months and feel great. My reactions are worse the longer I am GF. I tested negative to the blood test, but did not feel like doing the biopsy, especially if I had to consume gluten again before it like I did the blood test.
Hi! I'm AJ from North Carolina...I've been gf since October. I haven't been diagnosed with anything officially. Last fall a friend of mine was telling me about her gf diet, due to her son's autism. I thought it was interesting and decided to try it, I've always been into trying new things for good health.
Anyway, I quickly realized that I had real issues with gluten, once I took it out of my diet, when I have had an accidental poisoning, I feel HORRIBLE!
Just recently, I ate something that I hadn't read the label well enough. My muscles don't work right, my joints ache...fingers don't have the strength to squeeze tight..chronic constipation came back...major ear and sinus troubles returned. I'm detoxing myself from that experience and feeling better today, in a few more days, I hope to be back to NORMAL.
btw, my husband and son also joined me in gluten free...we are vegans (with exception of a few organic eggs now and then). I've known for years that I couldn't tolerate casein, but had no idea that I was so sensitive to gluten. It explains all the illnesses I've suffered with for so many years though.
