Thank you everyone for the posts. This is day 4 for me with no bloating and so far so good. I was actually really lucky on the weekend my son had a birthday party so I decided to do my groceries at a nearby supermarket while he was at the party and found a huge section of really good gf foods. One company name is O'Doughs www.odoughs.com. They have amazing carrot and banana breads. I almost had tears in my eyes. I have always been a pretty healthy eater but juggling my weekly meal planning with gf menus took some getting used to. Tonight was my first real meal that was totally gf and my family didn't even realize it. Is there anywhere on this site that I can post those meal plans? Maybe they can help other gf people.
Once again, thank you for the kind posts. I really do appreciate them and it makes me feel that I am not in this alone.

If your going crazy, I'll see you when you get here :)

As a recent newbie to celiac (Nov 08), I can definitely say that the easiest way to feel your way around is to cut yourself back to nothing but fresh yummy fruits, vegetables, and meats. I too eat lots of rice and legumes. Oh, I know, how can you stand to eat non-preserved, un-flavored, all-natural food? It's quite different, but your entire body will thank you.

Check out some of the resources (DOTSLADY has the greatest info!) and ask questions, send SparkMail, keep trying. It is so nice to taste great food, you will love being here with us.

Focus on what you can eat, not what you can't. I eat a lot of meat, veggies, fruit, rice, and beans. It's a lot easier than you think. Personally, I think it tastes a lot better too.

There are plenty of great foods to eat! I am gluten and dairy free also. It does take some time to rework menus and to get to the point where you really don't miss the "old" foods but it is worth it to feel so much better! Welcome to the journey!

I have just joined the site and suspect that I have Celiac. The irony is that I told a friend that she should go get checked for it and 6 months later, I am now living an anemic, borderline diabetic, with a mild dairy intolerance and celiac symptoms life. Just shoot me now and put me out of my misery...... What the heck do I eat? I am pretty resourceful and am sure I will eventually find my way, I just don't know if I can hold back the next time someone asks me when I am "due" :) Have to put my kids to bed, nice reading all the posts and I look forward to sharing my journey with you all.
