Hi! I joined a while ago, but can't remember if I introduced myself or not! Anyway....I'm trying to make time to get some exercise in the majority of the week. Most of the exercise I do is at home, in the mornings before work, and that's mostly yoga and a quick kettle bell workout.

Anyway...I just wanted to say hi! :)

Hi, My name is Emily. 27, mother of one boy, Wyatt, he's five. I'm recently engaged. I'm back in school to try and get my RN degree. I work two jobs and keep myself busy, busy. Growing up and before I had my son I was thin. I never lost the baby weight and gained some. I weigh more now than i did when i was 9 months pregant.
I don't have the funds for a gym membership, crossfit or anything like that.
I prefer to work out at home, using my bodyweight, or walking outside. I just now started utilizing my work gym but I'll only do that the days I work. Tomorrow I start the Insanity DVD's that a friend gave me.

Hello, my name is Yvette. I am new to this team and I am returning Spark Girl. I have been away from the community. Put in a difficult year and stayed away. Now, I am back, taking it slowly, and am thankful. Could use all of the support and community. I do not want to go on this journey alone. Been there done that!:)

My name is Dana and I live in New Jersey. There are times I choose to work out indoors because of the weather or my social anxiety.

I like the walking workouts the best, use to do Richard Simmons long ago. So I'm looking for some new DVD's.

Good to be here.

Hi,

My name is Callie and I have 50+ lbs to lose. I am off to a great start with SP.

I like the official SP challenges. SP Official Healthy Cooking Challenge and SP Official 'Eat Up, Slim Down' Challenge

Here are the changes I have made so far:
1. Planning meals now
2. Drinking 2.2 L of H2O per day
3. Keeping fruit in bowls throughout my house
Lastly, Tracking my food calories with (wow....lots of work there, but gotta do it!) week one of SP Official 'Eat Up, Slim Down' Challenge

Hi THINFITKIND,
This week I planned to workout at least 30 mins daily and stay consistent. Now that the weather is getting warmer I would like to be outdoors more - walking and biking.

1. Being consistent is my problem, I would do really well for the first couple of weeks and after that I get lazy and the next thing I know I missed out on my workout for a whole week! Then I got into a depressed mood and have to start all over again!

2. Food portioning is another problem I have. I want to be able to eat better and wiser and not starve myself in a way that I would overeat later on!

Today I did 30 mins video exercise with Jessica Smith - cardio workout!

If you want to lose more weight, what is your plan? Increased duration of work out time? Increased amount of times per week? Different work outs? or perhaps food moderation? emoticon

My name is Seni and I am a new member. I workout maybe 2-3 times a week for about 30 mins at home and that is it! I am not too keen to workout at the gym either. By joining this team I would be able to challenge myself more and be able to shed more!

Hello everyone, I'm Cherye. I like to exercise at home - I'm not much of a gym person at all. I use a FitBit to go on walks - I avg about 6 miles a day between work and home. I'm really focusing on portion control and making sure I'm not just sitting still.

Work hard, that's the key to achievement.

Hello, I'm Bri (or "Breezy".)
I usually workout at home, following workout DVDs and lifting free weights. I'm happy to find a group of people that have the same habit. Let me know what your favorite workout is, please. I love to shake it up and try new things.

Hi! I'm Katherine. I'm actually really new to working out at home. In the past, I've relied on the gym or walked/jogged outside. But due to some scheduling restraints, I'm going to be working out inside the apartment for now. Last week I tried a few Leslie Sansone videos on YouTube, and I've ordered several other DVDs from the library. I can't wait to learn more from the collective wisdom here. Thanks!

Hello! my name is Lauren. Im new to this team. I have always worked out at home. Ive never gone to a gym, I cant stand working out in front of strangers. It feels as though Im exposing my most vunerable part of me. I breakdown emotionally sometimes during a workout because I am out of my comfort zone and Im changing myself not just physically, so i cant do that in a public place. thats why I work on me in my natural habitat, my home sweet home

Welcome Melanie!

I love working out at home!

I am an at home (and occasionally at my desk) work out kind of girl. I have a commercial treadmill and what I refer to as my "el cheapo" stepper. I also have some dumbbells (2#, 5# and 10#). I keep the 2# ones at work and try to use them as time allows. I use a pedometer and average about 5,000 +/- steps a day.

Hi everyone, I'm Melanie. I workout exclusively at home, I never did enjoy the gym and I already walk - and in the summer, bike ride for transportation so I don't find either enjoyable for deliberate exercise.

At the moment I like Jessica Smith or Leslie Sansone's walking workouts for cardio, and I do body weight and 5 lb dumbbell workouts on alternate days. I just started working out again regularly a couple of weeks ago after months of absence...so I'm taking it slow to start.

Hi, I am new here to this group. I am doing the Brazilian Buttlift and it is a killer but really good!! I like doing my work out at home. I am on day 21 of working out and day 6 of eating right. I am doing baby steps so I don't try to do to much at once and end up failing like I usually do. I know where I mess up at and this time I am doing things right!!

The more I stick to my goals the better I will feel and look!!!

Hi, I'm 54 and from Mississippi and I am starting over here at Sparkpeople.
I have decided to start with the home videos since I abhor cold weather and going to the gym in winter usually makes me sick. Also there is the time factor - with my crazy schedule I can still stick a home workout in somewhere. At least that is the plan.
My challenges are to 1. stick with it, 2. do more aerobics, and 3. eat cleaner.
Small changes....small changes.
Part of my motivation is that I just got some new (for me) Cathe DVDs on sale. I KNOW that working out with that lady will get you fit!
So I want to get my strength, aerobic, and flexibility levels back up so that I can rise to the challenge.
I have lots of videos/DVDs but I just need to DO them. lol
Most of the ones I own are The Firm. They will definitely get you in shape.
I am looking forward to being on these message boards getting encouragement and sharing encouragement with others on this journey.

emoticon Hi I'm Nicolette been on SP for a while and it's great meeting fellow saprkies who workout at home. emoticon

I Started Insanity today. I tried it before but was so winded I put it aside and did hip hop abs and taebo for a while was planning on giving it another try in January 2014 but for some reason I was drawn to it today. I was so amazed when I actually did all the exercises in the fit test. The last time I tried it I couldn't do those push ups jacks. I feel so accomplished and I'm looking forward to the whole 9 weeks of the program. emoticon

Hello Everyone,
I am Leslie, 42, mother of 3 with a full time job.
Working out at home seems to be the best way to go for me (even though, I am still working on getting into a routine again). I don't fair well with having to go somewhere to workout, I am also a little shy. I went to a women's gym for a while but it got boring after a while, so over time my husband and I have built up the home gym, we have no problem with used and in good shape and I will grab almost any DVD if its on sale or in a yard sale.
I use my elliptical a lot, it is the easiest thing to just jump on and go while catching up with shows and it is the one thing that is kept in the living room in front of the TV (it works best for me there).
I recently organized my workout DVDs and realized I have 52, some of those are sets (Zumba, Hip Hop Abs, etc). So I guess it depends on my mood as to my favorite. I really like the Gold's Gym DVDs they have 3 ten minute workouts on them, each one is circuit including cardio so it is a great 30 minute workout broken down in 3 ten minute workouts and they use different equipment (or none at all if you don't have it) ball, step, bands, kettlebell.
I also have free weights and the all in one weight bench and my husband has the bowflex and we have the total gym. Another good one is the mini trampoline, they have some good DVDs for that also.
I have pretty much anything so being bored in a workout is not even an excuse. I just need to be motivated.
Does anyone use the Spark People Activity Tracker, thinking about getting one, but not sure if it is right for me.
Looking forward to being part of the group!

Leslie

Hi.. emoticon

I'm Stacy and I live in Dallas, Texas.

I have been married 20 years to my hubby Dave (been a couple for 22 1/2) and we have a son (Cory) that will turn 20 in January. emoticon Wow, time flies!

We also have a precious Pet Daughter, ZuZu.. She's a Mini American Eskimo and will turn 8 in Jan.

Since I turned 40 in May, I'm finding it soooooooo HARD to get these last 20 lbs off!

I started at 197.7 lbs (joined here) and now I'm at 169.2

I'm 5'8 and now in a size 12.

I still have so many problems areas!

My issues are still in my inner thighs, hips and tummy/mid-section..

They are hanging on for dear life! emoticon

I have to switch things up often to stick to a routine.

I have the Firm - Get Fit in 30 dvd's, Biggest Loser with Bob and Dolvett, Prevention Mag dvd's (accelerated walking), Pilates and Richard Simmons.. (Disco Sweat/Tone & Sweat)

As of late, we lived in Jonesboro AR for 3 years for hubby's job and they closed down (just like they did in Dallas; why we moved to AR) and due to the packing and moving I totally got knocked off track and out of my routine!! emoticon

We have been back home in Dallas since the middle of August.

Hubby is still unemployed and looking for work.

(Very Stressful!!)

I started at Cracker Barrel as a Server in AR and transferred to the Mesquite one.

I will be with them 2 years in January. emoticon

Hi all! After getting my food somewhat sorted out the last 5 weeks, I am going to start exercising at home! I look forward to hearing what everyone else is trying and what's working (or not) for everyone! I'm going to try the Jessica Smith YouTube videos starting in the morning. Wish me luck!

Hi everyone. I am the poster child for figuring out how to work out from home because I've always been a little strapped for cash. I scour YouTube for yoga videos and HIIT videos and now have an awesome collection of Spark videos to choose from as well.

I mostly hop on the stationary bike but I'll be moving soon and won't have access to the bike anymore so I'm collecting workouts to do at home, especially for during the winter when it'll be more difficult to step outside for a jog or walk.

Looking forward to getting healthy with all of you.

Hi! I'm not only new to this team, but I am new to Spark People. I am so blessed to have a home gym! We remodeled our garage into an apartment for my son and his wife to live with us until they could buy a home of their own. When they moved out, it became a gym! So now I have zero excuses, right? I have everything I need to follow Jillian Michaels' Frontside and Backside circuit training DVDs. When I conquer those, I will be on the lookout for a new challenge. Also, I am preparing for a local 5k on November 9, so I walk 3 days/week in addition to the 6 days/week of the DVDs. There is nothing that keeps me on track like a chart, so I created a schedule for myself to check off every day. I even check off my "rest" days!

Hello =) New member since September 13th. My name is Monica and I am in my early 40's and love to workout at home and in the great outdoors. I live in the Western part of Canada... born and raised here. The videos/dvds that I like working out too are: Tae Bo w/Billy Blanks, Power Walking w/Leslie Sansone, The Next Challenge w/Radu and Cindy, and Yoga w/Rodney Yee. I will be adding Jillian Michael's Dvds and when I'm ready Supreme 90 day. I have a huge library of exercise videos to choose from but I am one who likes to buy and collect more of them. LOL emoticon

emoticon I'm trying to lose 25 pounds... and it's nice to come to SparkPeople to get support and motivation to keep on track with exercises and the food I consume throughout the day. Also making sure I drink and keep well hydrated.

Glad to be part of this group forum!

Hi Everyone! My name is Karen. I live in Ontario, Canada. I prefer working out at home cause then I don't have to GO out to do anything. I have found Leslie Sansone - my goal, to start, is 2 nights a week doing a 2 mile walk in 30 mins.

I walk at least 4 days at lunch with a friend - 5km in about an hour and if I miss that, I find I'm tired by 3. I need that.

I am looking forward to chatting with you all!

Hello Everyone! My name is Kristen, and I am from Nova Scotia, Canada. I am currently a stay-at-home-mom who lives out in the middle of nowhere. Most of my time is spent with my little guy who will be four this Christmas as my husband works evenings Monday-Thursday. Because I am with my son so much I often end up working out at home, which I kind of prefer for the most part.
I look forward to getting to know my fellow team mates here!
Cheers!

Welcome Erin. Thanks for introducing yourself to the team. I do a lot of body modality DVD's. Stretching, seat exercises mostly, Tai Chi, Qui Gong, Yoga. Love it all!

In the mornings I walk and I'm active in my job all day long.

Hey Everyone,
My name is Erin, I'm 38, and live near Galveston, Tx. I have been on and off sparkpeople for 3 or 4 years. I have a lot of problems with back and neck pain. I love to be active and used to join a gym, then get hurt and not be able to go. Paying for a membership and not being able to use it drives me crazy. So now my plan is to exercise at home. I have dvds, kinect, dogs to walk... lots of things to keep me active and from getting bored.... plus no gym fees!
I can't wait to hear what everyone does to exercise at home.

Hello! My name is Pam and I live in Atlanta. I stay home and homeschool my two boys (6 & 10), tutor chemistry & physics, and enjoy biking, running, hiking, and dancing. I have been on spark for a few years, I've had lots of success (off & on) with weight loss and fitness accomplishments for the past 5 years. Two years ago I had lost my most weight, 44 lbs. After gaining 10 lbs. back, I sat plateaued for a year. I've struggled with injuries most of this year, and after really getting taken out of the fitness game in early July while continuing to eat like a training triathlete, I'm now sitting 20 lbs. above my lowest low.

I'm here looking for an active team to check in with regularly. I was part of a wonderful team of awesome ladies that has seen a serious decline in activity over the last couple months. I really feel that I need the support of a team right now to help me stay accountable.

Hi all! I'm Amy. I did the gym and loved it but lack of babysitter in the morning I gave it up and now workout at home. I am purchasing the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution workouts to try something different. I did P90X, Chalene Exreme, Turbo Jam, Body Pump, Body Combat and others.
Lately I've been in a rut not exercising or eating lean. I am ready to get out the rut and get back on track so.....here goes!

Hi everyone! I joined this team because I do workout at home and I need some motivation to keep going. I've been Sparking for a couple years, got serious with it last October when I had a health scare. I've lost over 30 lbs and am currently almost 10 pounds below my ultimate goal weight. I do not want to lose any more weight but I will be 60 in a few weeks. I want to keep working out to stay healthy, keep my bones and brain strong and keep my weight at least at goal. I have a gym right across the street from my office but I've tried 2xs unsuccessfully to participate. I am self employed with a demanding DH so it's just best I do my exercise at home. I walk and use my Wii Fit, I love Coach Nicole and use her videos regularly. I say Coach Nicole ROCKS! Keep up the Spark!

Hi everyone! My name is Janine. I work out at home because it is free. Currently I swim in our pool which is something I love. In the fall I enjoy walking, bike riding, using Wiifit, and dancing to a computer program called "Dance Praise." I also have really enjoyed the Spark videos. I am working towards getting a handheld GPS so that I can geocache this fall/winter/spring. I am so grateful for this website. It is an answer to my prayers. Together, emoticon

Hello,

I hate gyms and I recently discovered that I REALLY like lifting weights. My program of choice is the Firm workout videos. I have seen a lot of changes in my body but not much weight loss. I like how my muscles feel after I have worked them, no pain just the sense that they have been worked HARD.

Hello,
My name is Sandy. I am 60 years old and still about 80 pounds overweight. I work out at home because for now it is most convenient. I live in a remote part of Northern California.
We have a very large circle driveway that is 1/4 mile around. I walk laps every morning and every evening. I started out just one lap at a time but am now doing 6-8 laps a day.
I also have a Wii game that I use for exercise but not everyday. When I sit on the couch and watch TV, I will pick up my weights and work out a little too.
Because of joint problems, this is what is comfortable for me right now. I am hoping to do more as I lose weight.
Would love to hear others ideas.
Sandy

I'm new to the team and I just celebrated my first month on SP. So far, just by tracking my food intake and becoming AWARE emoticon and making a few cut backs...and adding a little exercise, I have lost 5 lbs (that I am hoping wasn't just water weight.)

Anyway, I am ready to get SERIOUS about losing this weight, being healthy and SUPERFIT! for the rest of my life!

I am finding my workout rhythm and slowly getting into my groove. As of right now, I really enjoy the 10 minute cardio kick boxing workout by SP's Coach Nicole. I use that as my warm up before I do my strength training (30 mins) and also before and sometimes after I do Walk Away The Pounds (2 miles in 30 mins) so altogether...my workout rhythm is turning out to be around 40-55 minutes approx. and I have yet to do that 3-5 days a week. It's been kind of sporadic with no real rhyme or reason.

My idea is to master these 2 workouts until I know them by memory and once they become too easy I'll move on to some videos that are more challenging. Eventually I want a female body builders body right before it begins to look masculine...before the veins pop and the voice drops.

I am open to any and all work out suggestions especially having anything to do with kick boxing and weight lifting to gain muscle and burn the FAT! Preferably ones on you tube since they're um...FREE!

Oh yeah! I almost forgot. As far as my strength training. I am just using 1-3, and 8 lb dumb bells on a stability ball for right now. I use my body weight (since there is enough of it) for strength training and I don't use any specific dvds for that. I've used some off of SP. I have used some tips from different trainers on you tube. Ms. Olympia Linda Murray, future Mr. Olympia Kai Greene, and some others that I can't name from off of the top of my head.

So if there are any strength training videos that use body weight and light weights that anyone knows of I'll check them out. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm Fei! I'm new at this team, I joined because I workout at home all the time. I've been using mostly DVDs of any kind, but lately I'm doing workouts online (youtube). My favourites are fitness blender, jessica smith tv, and Cassey from blogilates. I hope I can get any kind of workout ideas and tips from all of you in this team!

Hi, I'm Lindsey!
I joined Spark yesterday.
At home I use EA Sports Active 2 for Wii, Spark videos, and my Workout Trainer app to work out.
I would love some more SparkFriends. I will add anyone back!

Hi! My name is Andreja, I'm new here and I'm glad I found this team. I work out at home all the time, I'm not comfortable with going to the gym and I don't like running. It was a great revelation for me that I can do all my workouts at home - I do a lot of Turbo Jam along with some strength training exercises on Sparkpeople. It works, I have lost more than 30 pounds so far and I'm very happy about that! Another great thing is that this weight-loss journey has become fun to me, and I wish everyone else the same!

hello..I am new to this board but not new to home workouts..I finally got tired of eating in food courts and junk food for the last 5 years..I was very addicted to soda and gave McDonalds and Taco bell a small fortune..well for the last 3 weeks I have been eating clean and no sodas..and I don't miss it at all..I have been enjoying eating healthy and I have been doing my workouts daily at home..I wanted to join a group to keep me accountable..and keep me moving forward..I am in my 50s and by the end of this year I want to be in the best shape ever..that would be my goal.

Thanks for allowing me to join this team.

Hello. this is my 4th ! sparkversary, and I finally decided to find a team I can really involve myself in beyond huddling and dropping in once in a while-this is it!!! I have always worked out at home, some days not so much as others. So, I'm here to learn some better home exercising habits. You're never too old to change!

New around here, or at least learning this time. I joined some time ago but just could not give the time I needed to really get the feel of things, or get them going. I just graduated with a bachelors degree and decided that it was time to get back to me.
I am single with a wonderful son who is helping me stay on top of things and get I into shape.
Still trying to figure how everything works and how to make me time during the day to do what I need.
I enjoy doing crafts, reading, and spending as much time as I can with my son.
Any ways nice to meet everyone.

Hi new to the team, my name is Kathryn. I live in sunny Ca. I love doing the videos on here and riding my exercise bike. I also take a walk most days for over 10000 steps. i have a neat pocket pedometer that I take with me. I have been using Spark People for almost two years and have lost a little over 33 pounds. I am a resent member to Weight Watchers. I like the freedom of picking what I want to eat and how much I eat. I enjoy being able to now and than have fast food or candy and not think darn I have blown it.

I AM A FIGHTER, A WARRIOR I AM DETERMINED TO NOT BE OVER WEIGHT . I WILL STAY ON TRACK
Yes you can be strong
Who I am really keeps surprising me.
Be unstoppable!!!!

Hello All, my name is Sandy, I work at a university and do a great amount of walking throughout the campus during the work day.

I have a Pro Form Elliptical and Treadmill and a Gold's Gym stationary bike, hand weights, and a pool in the backyard. My husband and I just purchased new bikes so we will be taking advantage of the beautiful weather and riding our bikes.

I consistently work out 60 minutes a day at home on my machines, at least 45 minutes walking at work and usually 30 minutes in the pool. Now the weather is warming up I will be in the pool more often. It is an above ground pool but I do a lot of running and water aerobics in the pool. I am looking forward to reading other posts and what others do at home to lose weight. Sandy

Hello I'm glad I found this team! I've never belonged to a gym nor ever will I join one. I've worked at recreation centers and at the YMCA as a lifeguard before, from the age of 16 - 28. I had a baby at the age of 20, got back in shape but I was still hanging on to a few extra lbs. Then I re-married at 30, had another baby 3 yrs. later. After having her I walked religiously and started doing DVDs,mostly Jillian Michaels. I lost about 47 lbs! I felt so good! Then my hubby wanted to try for another one. I had another daughter in 2011, got post-partum depression and couldn't lose the weight. I think my body likes to be over 200lbs. So, in March I cracked down on my eating and increased my exercise, we now have a nice hm gym I also use. I've been measuring my waist and lost about two inches and my clothes fit better. We need a new scale and I don't want to get obsessed with it, so I haven't weighed in yet. So hopefully I will look good for summer. Last summer I felt like a sweaty pig, I never want to feel like that again!!
Also I want my body back, figuratively and physically since I'm done having kids and breast feeding!

Hi! My name is Shannon. I really got into the home workout movement in 2012. I had my son in 2011 and realized that I just didn't have any time to head to the gym. In 2012 I really wanted to start getting into shape. Unfortunately, I was only able to lose 20 lbs, 15 of which I kept off until 2013. I lacked dedication. Now, in 2013, I'm really in the game! I've lost 9 more lbs already - making up for the 5 lbs that I kept gaining back throughout 2012. Last year, I was super in to bodyrock.tv but I've since found Zuzka. I wasn't aware of her when she was with bodyrock because I hadn't discovered it then, but I love her now! I'm currently halfway through week 3 of the ZCUT Power Cardio Program. It has been life changing for me! In just 2 and a half weeks I've lost an inch on my waist and half an inch almost everywhere else (along with those 9 lbs!). I cannot wait to keep on pushing through and getting stronger!

Nice to meet you all and I can't wait to start looking around and gaining inspiration from you all :)

Hello I am a 50 yr old woman with COPD and Severe seasonal allergies , so breathing can some times be a challenge, I have free weights, a treadmill, exercise ball, and zumba and leslie sansone videos, pluse several other work out videos i use at home. I don't like going to a gym mainly cause they make me very subconsious and embarrased about my body so I just do what i can to work out at home.

I hope to become a valuable member of this team and make a lot of new friends.

have a great day everyone.

HI everyone!! I'm back on sparkpeople after a pregnancy, birth, and making it through babies first year!! I LOVE sparkpeople and did so well before, just looking for some more motivational friends & teams as I start my journey. I lost 42 lbs before and kept 30 off for 2 years until baby, I actually exercised the whole time while I was pregnant and was 30 lbs lighter the day I gave birth then today :-( As I can't seem to get to the gym or feel too big to run, I am looking to do all my exercise at home. I loved doing biggest loser cardio max while pregnant and want to do that again. I just can't seem to find motivation this time. Seems like a great team, look forward to interacting with you all!
