I want to take classes, but ther so expensive!! lol i have the pole addiction dvds wich teaches you alot of moves but i agree the teacher in class would be more helpful to make sure im doing them correctly. im going to try and get some mighty grip or chalk or something for my hands and just keep practicing and doing good posture.
I definitely agree that classes might be good to make sure you're using the right body alignment. Also, for the stick factor, I like Mighty Grip. However, I am finding that works better on a spinning pole. For a static pole, you could try some spray on deodorant, let it dry really well, wipe your hands on a towel, then I add a little Dew Point Ultra. Dew Point is made for the body but it works pretty well on my hands.
Welcome to the team. To help with shoulders, don't reach too high and pull shoulder blades together to engage the back muscles. This will help take pressure off your shoulders.
It would be good if you could find a studio to attend. That would really help you get the basics so you don't hurt yourself. There are also websites with instructions and youtube has many clips of how to do pole moves.

hey everyone im alisha, i have the origonal xpole ive had it for about 4 years but never really used it, i know alot of the basic spins. But ive been really trying to get into it lately. I have a hard time becuase my hands constantly slip and get super super sweaty. I have tryed acetone, it helps a little but not enough. and i find to be really sore and feels like i pulled muscles in my wrists, my arms and shoulders. any advice would be great since im just starting out.
