I just wanted to say Hello as well. I have also been a Sparks member for several months and have had some health issues holding back my weight loss. But I seem to be getting thru them so from now on it will be onward and upward! I am barely 5' 2" and every excess pound really shows on itself on my body! I found this team thru another new member Shortlaurabeth's Sparkpage and immediately thought to myself, WOW, they have a team just for me!!! So let's all have fun as we lose the extra weight and inches!

BTW Steph, I also LOVE my chocolate! And one of these days I will get up early enough to start doing my workouts early. It just has not worked yet! Grrr!

Getting up earlier really helps! I never had time to exercise before, and I NEVER wanted to give up my sleep either, but being on Spark has motivated me and I get up 1 hour earlier 4 days a week and run/walk on the treadmill. I've been doing this for about 3 weeks and I've found it's not as hard as I thought it would be. Plus, I've got more energy during the day! I'm in the July challenge too, so I'll see you there emoticon

Thanks for the kicks in the butt. Hopefully they get me moving. Water is definitely not my issue....I drink 10 glasses a day without any issue. I also get to the gym 6 days a week, but I think that I need to switch up my routine and add in more weight training. Right now I am only doing 2 days a week, and that will be put on hold in a couple of weeks because of vacation. My goal is to get up bright and early in the morning and go for a run on the beach. I signed up for the July challenge. Hopefully that and this group will motivate me to keep this goal.

Hello Aieglerj, Here is your kick in the tush. I say that you are doing better than I am and when I get to 139, I will hold a big party and you will be invited. I am old enough to be your mother and I already have eight grandchildren. I have a set of twin grandbabies that are three years old now and you can see them on my spark page. So sign up for the July Challenge and start drinking H20 and also start walking a lot. Post your minutes in the challenge and how many glasses of water too. from your adopted mother, for now. lol. Welcome - I myself have hit that plateau 2 months and waiting, discouraged and a bit miffed as I've been behaving sooooo well. We leave on vacation for 2 weeks next friday, so it will be interesting to see if I stay the same or gain. I am hoping that as long as I stay the same, nothing is lost - I blame most of my plateau on my wacky work schedule, makes it easy to eat right, not so easy to get to the gym. And quite frankly after a 15 or 16 hr day, I'm too pooped to do much of anything except get stuff ready for the next day. I alternate between swimming and weights - with the treadmill on the weightlifting days a minimum of 3 days a week and more if I can get there. Any other suggestions??? Enjoy your weekend.

Welcome to the team! I'm also 5'0" and you are so right - a measly five pounds and it shows! My husband, alarmed at my current weight, kept telling me that 115 lbs should be "just right" for me, until I showed him a photograph in my workout clothes at that weight; HUGE difference. For me a combination of being very vigilant of fat intake and calories, running and weightlifting have made all the difference. If you aren't already weightlifting, try it. When you build muscle, it burns extra calories (even at rest) and it sculpts the body beautifully. Could be just the thing to kick that plateau in the butt!

Hi. I just wanted to quickly post to say hello to everyone. I'm new to the whole SparkTeams thing, although I have been a member of SparkPeople for about 7 months. I am so excited to have found this group. I am 5'0" and have struggled with my weight my entire life. I don't necessarily hate being short (I like to say that it adds character), but I hate that a gain of 5 lbs. can make me look like I've gained 25 lbs. After 2 pregnancies I have managed to lose 29 lbs on my own. I would like to lose an additional 13 lbs before I reassess my goals. I've hit a plateau and have been stuck here for 2 months and I am very frustrated. Hopefully this group can give me the kick in the butt that I need to get back on track.
