Thank you everyone for the warm reception! Yes Wanaka I am a runner, though I haven't been running as much as I would like/need to be. Goal is get back up to 4 days per week with a base run of 3 miles. I also want to add some yoga, chi gong & dance into the mix.
I consider all of this a permanent lifestyle change, not a diet. My ultimate goal is healthy body, mind & spirit for middle age & beyond!

Welcome to SP and the 5'3" and Under team! I'm at goal now, but weighed as much as 161-162 when I joined WW approx. 15 years ago. You can do it! Sounds like you're eating the right foods and have the right attitude. You'll find lots of support and resources on SP! Glad to have you with us!
welcome to the team, I'm 5'3'' and losing weight for me had been difficult until I went to as least processed foods as possible, watch my carbs and calorie range spark gave me, and now I'm doing pretty good. I started Jan 31st. and am down about 16 pounds so far. keeping working hard and we will reach our goals together on sparkpeople.

Greetings everyone. I am just under 5 feet tall & have been pretty small all my life. I have recently put on some pounds due to lifestyle change & perimenopausal issues ( I think). Here for the support, as I have noticed that larger people seem to lose weight much faster/easier with less effort than more petite folks? I want to feel comfortable in my body again, to be a healthy size & full of life force energy. I have managed to release 4 pounds so far since sometime in January. I am following a whole food high raw vegan diet (I have been vegan before I gained the weight). Eating lots of delicious fruits and vegetables every day!
