Welcome to Sparkspeople and this team. When it comes to food allergies, that is tough. Once I started getting serious about my health it took 3 months of hives to realize I had developed an allergy to strawberries ! Hit mid 30's a food allergies hit. Mine aren't as bad as yours it seems though. Horseradish, strawberries, and shellfish (used to eat that too years ago. My point is, I did see a team named Food Allgeries (I think) and lots of info on other foods. You might check it out.
1. Track all food if you seriously want to get healthy and in shape. 2. Take measurements NOW not just weight. Track those also. Take photos too.

You've definitly taken the first step! You have found you way here and you'll meet a lot of friends and supporters. I've been on the site for 8 months now and have been encouraged since the beginning, you will also find that too! You'll have someone every step of the way to help you through your journey also. It's nice to give and get suggestions that you could find invaluable, and also find a sounding board when for some reason you've lost your way off of the path. Just always remember it's a lifestyle change and not a "diet" and you will have bumps in the road but don't beat yourself up over it just pull up your boot strings and continue on!

I am VERY new here.......just joined yesterday! I am 5 foot(I think I use to be 5 1/2") and 47 1/2 years old. I have been overweight my WHOLE life.......even as a little girl. I am up to 165 lbs and want to start with a goal of losing 30 and then take further if I get there. Mostly, I don't want to go into my mature years with extra weight to carry which may cause health problems. I have a son and a husband, both who have sweet tooths(teeth?) and it makes it difficult. I'd just rather not have anyone expecting chocolate on the holidays, or sweet cake on birthdays! I have some issues digesting certain foods, even healthy ones that I love like dairy, eggs, and high fiber foods like oatmeal and whole wheat. This makes losing weight with traditional menu plans challenging. So........with these challenges, I seek a lot of support! Oh yeah, did I mention I am Canadian?
