Exercise definately can make you weigh heavier. When I start seriously exercising I always gain 4 or 5 pounds (even though I'm smaller inchwise) and if I stop that goes within 2 or 3 weeks...along with the muscle tone!! So it's weight, but good weight! I'm sure you'll soon be back where you want to be...you're not very far off after all. Swimming breaststroke really strengthened my legs and knees up quickly before I attempted low impact exercise.

If you want be a butterfly then you you have to want to fly so badly that you are prepared to give up being a caterpillar.

Ouch!! I know I was at 174...now if I could get back to the 138 I was at. Currently I am at 153 again. I am hoping it's only my bloating and female stuff, along with my body mass weight gain from working out hard core this last month.

I still get problems with my knees but nowhere near like how they were before.Remember I'm still carrying a lot of weight (I'm 186 pounds at the moment) so hopefully they will get even better.

I have a problem with one of my knees. After you started slimming down did they get better? I have asked a friend of mine that was a trainer at curves. She told me instead of doing side planks to do side lunges with weights. That has helped me a lot. I still need to loose only 20 more pounds. Actually I am back up to 153 again when a couple of months ago I was 138. I think I am gaining new muscles plus pms bloating helped a lot too. Plus all of the water I have been drinking. I am not sure what is going on.

So well put and so true - to those just starting - it does get easier and these are such true words - just give it a go - YOU CAN DO IT emoticon

Smile .... it makes people wonder what you're up to ;-)

The fourth glass of wine is always a good idea before you do it and a really bad idea afterward! ;-)

It is far easier to MAKE time to exercise than it is to FIND time to exercise. You want results???? MAKE it happen.

I can remember clearly how daunting it was just to get started. It wasn't the first time I needed to lose a large amount of weight but at 258 pounds and only 5 ft 2" it was the highest I'd ever been. I just want to urge you to dedicate yourself to this for ONE month and I promise you you'll see changes so quickly that you'll want to carry on. After only one month I was able to do things that I'd thought would never be possible for me again. I couldn't do up the seat belt on the plane or in the car or on a fairground ride. After a month I could. I couldn't reach to clean myself properly when I went to the toilet....this was embarressing and a nightmare....but after a month this was NO PROBLEM AT ALL.I could only go up or down the stairs one step at a time for the risk of my knees failing and for the pain. Now I hardly notice that I am running up and down them like I would 6 years ago.

My weight had made me move like someone at least 20 yrs older. It was disabling me,and a s somone who works as a ballet teacher this was very bad news.

If you feel daunted to start, like I did, please JUST START. Start with baby steps and the changes will start to happen.

I am only 4 months into my journey but it has turned my life around completely. Even at only one month into the journey it had made so much difference. My cholesterol returned to normal and my blood pressure dropped from 180/110 to 120/70.I now am 66 pounds lighter.

Please JUST START.I promise you won't regret it.
