I'm sitting here in tears...in a good way
the amazing support I've been getting since joining this site just blows me away

I honestly never thought it was possible for me to tone up, slim down and get healthy. No matter how hard I've tried in the past (which, looking back, wasn't very hard) I've never succeeded. This time is so different, and I am just blown away by the support, thank you all so much!!!!! emoticon

_SAP_0 my suggestion is not to be discouraged by the numbers on the scale, but motivated. At 5'2", it was 186 lbs on the scale that kicked my booty into gear. Until then I was in denial. No matter how tight my clothes became I just kept thinking it was the clothes and not me. I am now down 20 pounds, but it took more than just deciding. It took daily decisions, the wonderful ladies (and gentlemen) here at SP who still continue to motivate and encourage me with their stories, and most of all it took me taking a long hard look and being truthful with myself (the hardest part of this journey).

I am short and I am more of a stocky build, but that doesn't give me an excuse to be out of shape and physically unfit. So, just know you aren't alone, cause us shorties have to stick together. In just a short time you will be a smaller version of your beautiful and wonderful self.

While those of us petite in stature have our particular set of challenges, losing weight, becoming fit and embracing a new, healthy lifestyle is tough for everyone. Goals evolve as you succeed, so for now you're smart to set a number that you feel is doable. But don't stop there. Sit and write out a list of things you'd like to accomplish, no matter how far-fetched you might think they are at the moment - you'd be surprised how those seeds can grow! Then write out a plan for attaining your goals and finally, get to work! Because work is what it takes - patient, consistent work with the belief that whatever you set your effort to, you will accomplish...

Hi! I just joined SP a week ago. I'm 4'11 (and a bit, on a good day....) and have never been under 160lbs. I am 27 and have two kids (the girl is 4 and the boy is 2) and need to change. I was sick for months last year - chronic fatigue syndrome - and gained weight, I was shocked to see 185 on the scale at Christmas time, before getting sick I was 170-175.

I know my "ideal" weight is under 120, but honestly I can't even conceive of being that small. Right now my goal is 140. I'm more focused on being healthy and active than I am on numbers.

I'm determined to make changes and loose wight, but I know myself, I know I'll need a push now and then, support, motivation. I'm glad I found this group because it is different when you're short, nice to know others understand that.
