Hi Rose and welcome!
You and I are the same age. I have lost 10 pounds so far and would like to lose 20 more. What helped me the most was to get over the "poor me" attitude that I am both short and older and simply can't (ever) eat as much food as most people. I have learned to view this as challenge that I am capable of overcoming. That attitude shift helps- and I've been somewhat successful in getting my 5'11' husband understand I can't eat as much as him.
