Hi there! I'm 1/4" short of 5 feet tall. I'm a medium framed pear shaped person. :) I had declared July the month I would lose 10 pounds...but now its 18 days into the month and I haven't lost anything. So I'm really going to get focused and start losing. Getting started is the hardest part. If you are looking for some daily accountability partners...please let me know. I need that too. :)

hello everyone! I am daneva, and I am 4'11 as well. at the moment, I am 182 pounds, and I need to be 120 to be healthy for my height :/ I did lost up to 172lbs while at school (i'm in college) but once summer started, i let go of eating healthy and working out. So now, I have to lose the weight I gained back, and then lose even more! :) We all can do it, I know, so lets keep going, and reach our goals!

WE are NOT short...the rest of the world is just to tall. Hi all...I am cathy from Idaho. I am 5' 1. I got my growth spurt after I graduated from high school (a long long time ago) I was 4 10 on that day. I don't mind being short except every pound shows and homes are built with the shelves to high to reach. I look forward to sharing stories of success and motivation with this group.

Hey y'all. I am 4'10" and usually proud of it! lol. I am 32 and I weigh 203 currently. As I know us cute short people are all aware, that much weight on little bitty bodies is just not healthy. And I know I am not heatlhy. In fact I am so not healthy that it is scary! But hopefully I have come to the right place to change all that. Glad to be here with some other fun, cute short people!

Hi! I'm 23 and I'm around 4'11" depending on who is doing the measuring. I've been heavy since I was 8 years old, so I don't really know if I've got a small frame, a large frame, or something in between under all this weight. I'm completely afraid that I'm going to lose all my weight only to find out that I'm built like a man! (I've already got a football player worthy torso at the moment! )
I'm happy with my height for the most part, but like you've all been saying - when you're this short, every lb shows up looking like 5lbs. But remember, the reverse is true as well! For every little bit us fun sized people shed, there's a huge difference in appearance!

Hi there, my name is Fran and I'm 5'2. I seem always to be some inches shorter to get stuff on the shelves. i used to live in an apt where everything seemed to be designed for someone 6ft high, but I recently moved and the new house has a second floor with a very short space between the floor and the roof and I just fit perfectly in there, so I'm very very happy of my height right now!

Hello everyone! My name is Nicole, and I'm 5'2" tall. My husband is like 6'2.5". Of course both of my children are giagantic, and always have been, so that doesn't help. In my family you're either very tall, or very short. So my brother his over 6' and most of my cousins are over 6', (including one of my female cousins), and last month my 12 year old niece noticed that she is now taller than me. It kind of makes me feel like I need a step stool to participate in the conversation. Ha ha!
Last week I went to buy running shoes and the sales person told me, "The lucky thing is that you can wear KID sizes, and kids shoes are usually much cheaper!" with a big smile. My husband was standing there, so of course that gave him plenty of amo for the teasing. Overall I think it's fun to be short. But I hate how the extra weight is so noticable!

hi everyone! i'm 5'1 and a half. definitely don't mind being short but i really hate how obvious it makes a weight gain of even a couple of pounds! i have a really really small frame so while my weight in numbers isn't super high, it looks like way too much on me. i also find it really hard to lose--is this a short thing?

Hi everyone: I'm 5'1" I use to be 5'1 3/4" but I'm 52 and I guess I'm shrinking with age. I've been married for 32 years, have 2 daughters ages 27 and 25, and I'm currently unemployed so I have lots of time to work on me for a change. I have 36 more pounds to lose. I'm menopausal so its coming off of me like granite, I'm losing 4 lb per month its so discouraging when others who are taller lose faster. My husband is doing this with me and he's lost 31 lb already. Oh well, I've rambled enough I'm less than I was in January and thats what matters.

Hi, I'm Lisa and I'm 5' tall. It's great to have a team for us who are vertically challenged. I feel the challenge every day at work; I work at a cattle feed lot and the pay loader and feed trucks that I operate just don't fit my height. It's interesting to see the difference in goal weights between those on this team and those on some of the other teams. My goal weight is 120, but that is what I weighed in high school and thought I was fat then. IDK! Lisa

I've yoyo-ed a lot, and I've finally lost weight the right way - not starvation or "exercise bulimia" but just by eating the right foods and staying active. I'm 5'2 (or so) and went from 145 at my highest to a hovering 118 these days. I'm trying to figure out how to assess what my "ideal" weight is. I've stagnated, but I'd really like to be at the lower end of my weight range - around 105 - 110 or so! How do you decide which weight is right for you? Also, any tips on getting those last 10 lbs off in a healthy, maintainable way? In the past, the last 10 lbs have been my downfall... I get to 107 and then end up gaining it all back! How do you know once you've gotten there- when to be satisfied with your weight loss rather than trying to get to this perfect body? Private message me if you have tips!

Hi all, I'm 5'1, thought I was 5'2 but apparently not :( Maybe I shrank since I turned 40 (I'm almost 42) I wouldn't mind the height if wasn't so hard to take the weight off. When I run calorie calculators they tell me I need to be eating under 1200 calories *eeks* And of course every extra pound really shows. I'm trying to get down to 140 lbs. Even though its above what I should be, I think I could live with that.

Hello, I am Dawn, I am a 37 year old mother of 2 middle school boys. I am here because I am 5' 1.75" & would like to be healthy & fit by the lastest July 16th for a wedding, I have been working out but my weight is not budging. I lost 2.6lbs & 2 weeks ago & now nothing. I am trying to figure this out by doing different exercises. My oldest also challenged me to a run a 5K with him by summer/fall. I just started training this week. SInce I have never run before I am starting out with a 8 week program to get me running then I will be doing 8 weeks to a 5K.

Hello! I am Rah. 19 years old, and 5'3. I always say "I'm not THAT short!" but I do feel pretty dang tiny most of the time. My main goal for fitness is to build muscle, however I would LOVE to have a nicer butt, and lose the chub off my legs. I'm a size.. 12 in juniors, I believe. I'd love to be a size 8. Hi, I have been on SP for about a year now and while, the scales hasn't moved due to my horrible binge eating, I have become a regular exerciser. I am hoping to get my eating under control in the coming months. I am 5" 2" and have always been "solid". But I am tired of being a solid 180, I want to be a solid 140!

My entire life I was told I was 5'2" tall (nurses, etc) and then last year found out that I am really 5'3".

Howdy all! My name is Tracey. I will be married for 2 years in August. I am a mother of 3, 2 sons (1 that will be 21 in October and 1 that will be 11 in May) and a daughter that will be 9 in May. I am 4'10" and my husband is 6'2". My mother had a stroke in September and it provided me with a reality check and I knew I needed to get my groove back. I had a few weeks where my head really wasn't in the game, but I have now lost 10.8 pounds. I'm excited to be a part of this team!

Hello! I'm 4 ft 11 and so glad to have found this group! Who knew there were so many of us out there - LOL! I can relate to so many of you - I was once 190 lbs. I am goiong to post a picture on my page. I was able to get down to 140 about 2 years ago doing a very low-carb, high protein diet. I gained almost 20 lbs back this past year and am so ready for this roller coaster ride to be over. It is great to know that there is so much support out there! :)

Hi everybody, Someone said lower down that they though being on a team and checking in regularly would be good for motivation. I agree, we need support and it is different when you are smaller. I feel even a little extra weight proportionally looks more. But I've a good bit to lose. I currently around 149 and hoping to get to 119. I'm about 5'1" I'm eating mostly very low carb. Want to do more exercise but I'm partly hampered by an unresolved injury. i need to get out there and do what I can Louise

Hi Everyone! My name is Michele and I am 4'11 and currently at 181 lbs and just decided to look for a team for "short" people, or as my boyfriend calls us Vertically Challenged.
I have been having a difficult time loosing the lbs, however the inches are falling off all around me, which keeps me motivated and encouraged that the scale will eventually catch up. I try to stay between 1300 and 1500 for calories with higher protein and less carbs. I have recently been watching my sodium intake as well and have been able to knock that down between 1500-2300mg per day which i am very proud of and i think that has made a difference as well.
I do excersize consistently about 5 times a week (2 days are 60 min of ST with personal trainer and then 30 cardio) and the other 3 days are ST on my own with 35-45 min of cardio. Yes, i am aware that muscle weighs more than fat, therefore i am not as upset with the scale moving since i have been increasing weights and doing a lot of ST. Sometimes i do wonder if i need to eat more, however since im so short im thinking i dont! I have lost about 5 inches in my waist/4 in my thights/2 in hips and 3 in arms....I can't wait to measure again!

Hello! My name is Angel andI'm 5' 0". I just celebrated my 2nd anniversary with my wonderful husband and I have a 6 year old son and a 14 year old stepdaughter. I have always been on the heavy side, but really started gaining steadily in 1999. That was the year I moved from PA to FL and away from my 2 workout buddies- my mom and a friend from work. Without someone checking on my progress and expecting me at workouts, I let myself go. That's one of the things I love about SP- accountability! My weight got worse and worse as I went through watching my mom fight breast cancer from 900 miles away, having a baby in 2004, and then going through a divorce in 2007. But now I have the support and encouragement I need from my husband and I'm ready to finally take all this extra weight off for the last time!

Hi I'm Angie and I am 5' 1/2". I have always been short and I am ok with that. They say big things come in small packages, lol. I have always been overweight. I remember being the fat short girl in school. I started my SP journey in April of 2010 at 180 lbs after finishing college and having two kids with four step kids. I have a desk job and I noticed that the weight kept slowly packing on with not moving as much during the day. I have lost 38 lbs so far, but I have been on a plateau for a couple of months. I have a goal weight of 125 which will give me a healthy BMI! I can remember being weighed in for a physical at school in Junior High to join track and I was at 130 lbs then and in high school I was at 155-160 easy. I am going to get to my goal by continuing to exercise and running as well as eating healthy as a family! I am very thankful to find this team!

I am 4'11" and currently at 130.
I've never had a problem being short - my mom fully prepared me for the taunts I was likely to get at school (she's only 5'0"). So, when I started elementary school, I already had a pocket full of comebacks to the short jokes. As a result, my height has never really held me back or been at the forefront of my mind.
I was thin when I was younger, without even trying - my mom made healthy meals and I was always on the go with something, though I've never been athletic. I'm trying to change that and would like to get into being outdoorsy and athletic with the coming spring!
