I have been doing exercise DVDs/videos since the 1980s. I started with Jane Fonda's original workouts, then got hooked on The Firm classic videos. I have so many DVDs I have to weed them out every so often. At first I didn't like Leslie Sansone workouts because of her chatter. I discovered a couple Sansone DVDs with the "music-only" option, and I liked them so much I bought a few of her newer DVDs. I don't mind her talking on these. Also, I get a great cardio workout that's low impact. I really get my heart rate up when I do these walking workouts. So now I'm hooked on, maybe even addicted to, Leslie Sansone's DVDs.

Hi my name is Diana. I have been with Sparks for a while. Not been doing to great. But a new month a new start. The last 2 month I have had a lot of family issues. My mom had heart surgery. I had surgery. And my brother had a tumor removed from behind his heart. It was cancer. And a month later he passed away. I love walk away the pound tapes. And I am ready to try and lose 10 lbs this month.

Hi. I just started SparkPeople today. Have been a Leslie Sansone fan for over a year now. I was introduced to her DVDs by a friend of mine who works at Barnes & Noble where I live. Thanks to Leslie's DVDs, I've walked off 101 lbs. since last March. Looking forward to meeting all of you here. Happy walking!!

I'm an old Sparker, but new to this team. I've had a lot of medical events so far this year and I'm trying to get back into exercising. I was in the hospital over a week with pneumonia and I've had a heart attack along with teeth extraction. I'm just taking it One Day at a Time and Step by Step.

I recently had surgery on my knee, but I am healing quickly and back on the site to get back to work. Can't wait to join a challenge or goal here. Have a great day everyone! Let's walk!

I am so jazzed that I found Leslies walks to do in my own home. I have wood floors and a big space (I just put the coffee table against the couch) Anyway I have been walking with Leslie for over a month now, everyday except Sunday. I may move it to Sat, because they seem to start the week with Sunday here on Spark. I have been doing the mile, but this week starting Monday I increased it to 1 and 1/2 miles. It looks like I am actually in the groove to do exercise. I never was before, but when I started this plan of eating nothing but nutritional food, I got this burst of energy, which has helped me to endure my walks, with no problems. I will gradually increase, I have seen that they want at least 5 hours a week of exercise. With the new found energy, I am seeing the need for more exercise. Really excited and overjoyed that I am doing this.

Hi! I just found this SparkTeam last night. I have been doing Leslie's DVD's for a while now--I really enjoy them once I get started. Sometimes I do great for a pretty good while--a few weeks; then I get busy and just completely quit. It seems to be all or nothing with me. I need motivation to just get started and do just one mile if that's all I have time for--usually that will lead to two or three miles. Anyway, I'm glad I found you!

Hi fellow Walkers,
I'm new to this team, but not new to (Leslie) or SP. My health changes are still fairly new - I'm in month 5 of a healthier lifestyle. I'm not as focused on weight loss as I am general good health, and boy does walking help with that! I love the Start Walking at Home series; I'm on the 3 mile level, which is currently a really, really good workout for me! I'm always pouring sweat at the end. I have a long-term goal of walking a marathon someday, but for now, I'm trying to walk every day.

Hi everyone!
I'm Rachel, and I love Leslie's walks! I joined Spark about 2 years ago and lost 50lbs thanks to Spark and Leslie. Her workouts SAVED me when I was struggling to find a cardio workout that made me WANT to get up and go.
I maintained that weight loss up until last Fall when I started gaining again. I'm now back up about 30lbs, and here I am. I'm ready to do this, I worked my way up to walking every other day for the past few weeks, now I'm trying to get going at least 5 times a week. 3 in a row so far! I'm off to check out the challenge thread I saw...

So excited to have found this group. I love walking with Leslie several times a week. I have several of her DVDs. I often suggest her DVDs to others whom are just starting out in exercise or don't have enough time to fit in a long workout session. I look forward to chatting with many of you.
Thank you! I am really enjoying my devoted time to walking with Leslie. I am going to do something different tomorrow, since I cannot seem to do 2 together. Thinking 1 in the morning and 2 in the early afternoon, around 3. Until I have the stamina to combine them. Right now that sounds like it would work in the meantime.

I am on my 4th week with Leslie Sansones 3 mile walk. I have only done a mile each day, and slowly walking toward 1 1/2 miles and increasing to 2. 30 minutes a day 6 days a week will be enough for me at this time. I don't do exercising, I am coming from a very sedentary lifestyle since I retired. So this is a big change for me. I look forward to her walks, because she is entertaining, but I better get to her 2 nd mile, because I can repeat word for word the 1st mile lol, MJ

Hi Everyone,,
I am not new and have been in the group for a while but never really posted or got involved much. I want to be held accountable and also make new great friends here. My name is Rosie and my goal is to walk 5 miles. I recently joined the 5k walk training team and will be challenging myself to walk a bit more every day. I currently do Leslie Sansone's 1 or 2 miles a day. Only once did I walk 4 miles but the endurance I had built is gone now so I have to start with baby steps again. I'm glad to be a part of this team and can't to participate, meet everyone here and also be a positive person who will motivate others..
I just walked a mile for my sixth day this week. Next week I am increasing to 2 miles. You have to understand, I don't DO exercise, this is new for me to get through a whole week of walking consistently for the whole mile, without throwing in the towel 5 min in and the first day. Wooooooooo hoooooooooooo! I am going to do it!!!

Hi! I just joined this team today as I love my Walk Away the Pounds DVDs. I've been using them for a few years on and off and really enjoy them. I am trying to lose 50 pounds and so far have lost 16. One of my goals is to walk/jog in a 5k and I am hoping to do my first in June.

I have been doing Leslies walking 10 mile DVD beginning with the 1 mile. I started last week but got a little shaky and not consistent. I had a pinched sciatic last September, and it still a bit painful off and on, not like it was initially but I do find myself applying an ice pack once in awhile. This week being my 4th day of consistantsy I feel pretty darned proud of myself. I just make it a priority after breakfast. Next week I am going for the 2 mile. Honestly with back pain you just need to lighten up where she may get a little more aggressive I tend to stay with the least amount of strain. But it's getting better, as I get used to it. And I don't think I have ever gone this long with a routine. Walking seems to be the thing for most people, with the proper shoes and all, it's the least wearing on the body, as far as backs. My friend had back surgery and her thing is she is afraid to do anything. She should talk to her Dr. and get his yay or nay. Actually the first week I only did a half mile, then this week I graduated to 1 mile. Baby steps.

Hi, just getting back into sparkpeople and into exercise for the first time since being a teen really.
Leslie's Start! series is my starting point as I have to be careful having had two spinal surgeries in the last 3 years.
Right now I am intending to do the 1 mile per day walk which is hard for me to finish currently, although I do push through it. I hope to be doing the 2 mile walk within 2 weeks from start to finish.

hello I am new to the team , but not new to spark or leslie sansone, I have a lot of her videos and when I am motivated ,, which seems not a lot lately I walk with her most ever day .
I am 50 years old , a nurse that works night shift and have COPD and severe seasonal allergies, and i suspect allergies to my cats, so sometimes breathing is hard.
I hope to become an active part of this group , and make new freinds ,
have a have a great day everyone.

Hello I am MJ and I just started walking with Leslie last week. I did a half of mile then, and this week I doubled it to a mile. I am going to continue doing that (adding) every week until I get to the 3 mile goal. Right now it's baby steps, today seemed rather easy. So I am looking forward to it now! I live in the desert with horrid winds, ferocious dogs and extreme elements (heat) so walking with her is actually a fun thing. I also have a treadmill that I find extremely boring. Leslie makes it more enjoyable, where you don't really feel like your excercising and her talking you through is a good challenge. I would like my friends to be able to enjoy it, but I already know most of them wouldn't take the time. If they only knew, what I know now! Oh well YAY me, I am going to change my life!!!

Hi everyone. I just got the Ultimate 5day walk plan DVD and I love it ,then I happened to see this while going thru the spark teams and it looks great. I'm from Oregon and its pretty rainy here so I either walk on the treadmill (boring) or on the Wii which is fine but it's just walking. And I actually got my grand daughters to do it with me .
One day at a time.

Hi everyone - I'm Michele. I started using Leslie's DVD the 1st of this year and really love them as part of my exercise routine. They are the perfect workout when you are having a hard time getting motivated. It's so easy yet really gets you moving and working up a sweat. So far I have lost 10lbs and 6", and Leslie is right, my day always goes better when I take a walk.

Hi everyone and Hi Debra below me. :) I saw this on your spark page. I was so excited to see a Leslie Sansone walking team. I love these videos too. They are simple and easy for me to do after years of abuse on my knees and body now. I am off to see what the monthly challenges are and join in.
Have a nice evening.

Hi. I'm new to the team and I have 3 of Leslie's DVDs so far. A cashier at a store recommended her and I'm glad she did. I work out daily and I'm noticing a big difference! She's energetic and really gets you in the mood to keep going. Please welcome me and have a great day.

Hi all!
I'm new to this team & pretty new to Sparkpeople as well. I've been having horrible gallbladder attacks lately and am due to have it removed next Friday. I won't be able to do much exercise for awhile except walking -- so I figured this is the team for me!! I love Leslie and have quite the collection of her DVDs. Walk, walk, walk!!

Jess- Welcome to the team! I agree with you completely that Leslie's attitude is a big reason people continue to enjoy her videos. I love doing the 5K w/a Twist video and think her Walk the Walk is amazing and uplifting! Congrats on being cigarette-free for 2 months, and I'm confident 2 months from now you'll be celebrating a workout milestone. You can do 1 mile w/Leslie in about 15 minutes so I'll bet you could do a mile at least 3 times a week! Whatever you decide to do, just make sure it's slightly more than the day before. With that approach you will experience great success and I'm sure will be feeling great!

Hello everyone! My name is Jess and I am from Oklahoma City, where I live with my husband and our dog and work as a Labor & Delivery RN. I joined SP and started my journey to a healthier life just this week. While weight loss is part of my goal, I don't want to simply focus on that, I want to become an overall healthier person. I quit smoking on January 1 and now being 60+ days smoke free I am ready to begin working on other aspects to become healthier. Over the next 60 days I am going to focus on making working out part of my daily life.
I discovered Leslie's workouts on YouTube about 6 months ago, purchased a couple of DVD's and have been doing them occasionally since then. I like that they are easy to follow and don't take up a lot of time but you still feel like you got in a good workout, even with just the 1 mile walks. I absolutely love Leslie's attitude and how motivating she is. I think that more than anything is what keeps people walking with her.

Deb & CHarlene -- Welcome to the Walking w/Leslie team. This is a great bunch and we all have the same goal -- to get fit and feel better about ourselves! Our motivations and circumstances are different but we can all help each other on the journey by encouraging and supporting one another. My prayer is that you will not only accomplish your goals but that you will exceed your expectations and have fun doing it! Personally, I just started using Leslie Sansone around the 1st of the year and while I'm not losing a lot of weight, I am toning and shaping like I'd never have imagined. I'm very pleased with my results and trust that you will be too! Good luck, and again

Hi, I'm Charlene. So glad to be on this team. I can tell already that it will be great motivation for me to WATP. Just the one mile walk is more of a work out than just walking around my house for a mile in 20 minuites.which I have been doing. I really feel it will help me not only lose weight but help get my blood pressure down as well. Hopefully the blood clots in my feet and legs will go away too because my circulation will improve. I cannot take BP meds or blood thinners because of he severe reaction I have to all of them. So I am left to natural means of losing weight and keeping it off. I want to lose about 15 lbs. Thanks for being here to help me.

Hello All, I have been a member of SparkPeople for a long time. However, I have not logged in for a while. I have allowed my nutrition and fitness to get totally out of control. I currently weigh over 60 pounds more than 3 years ago. Also, I used to walk at least 3 miles a day 5 times a week. Now I can't even walk 3 blocks. I have walked with Leslie for many, many years. I love her DVDs because they are easy to follow and you and do it at your own pace. My starting goal is to complete one mile at least five times a week.

I have a 11 week old granddaughter and she is who I am doing this for. I want to be able to play with her on all levels and so I need to lose weight and get fit!! Hi Everyone! I can't wait to get fit again. I am trying Leslie Sansone since it is awfully cold outside. I wanted to start off light because of my back pain and due to the fact that I am way out of shape now. :( Makes me sad but I'll get back in shape soon. Hope to make friends on the way and find some motivation to keep this up!!

Hi all! My name is Angela. I'm not new to Sparkpeople but just started doing Leslie Sansone videos around the first of the year. Our church has a "Fitness, Faith & Fellowship" group on Wednesday nights and we've been doing Leslie's '5 Day Slim Down' but we almost always do the classic walk or occasionally the speed walk (only 1 mile each time). This week I picked up 'Fast & Firm! 4 Really Big Miles' and I'm pleased to say that I completed the entire 4 mile workout! I like to use DVD's 3 days a week while walking on the treadmill 3 additional days. I hope to pick up a few more workout videos to mix up my routine.

Leslie's dvd collection is extensive which is great! She's been doing this for a very long time! Some of the originals are my favorite! You can also go to her walkathome.com site and do the walks online! Happy Walking!

Hi :) I have been on Spark for a couple of years now but only discovered Leslie this last summer. I had been going to a Zumba class, and just doing the walking videos once or twice a week on days I didn't have class. Then winter hit and I decided I wanted to just work out at home and save that money I was spending for the class. After being pretty lazy through the holiday season, I got myself going here in January and did 34 miles with Leslie over the month! I only had the original 1, 2, and 3 mile videos with the weighted balls + 4 mile from the Express series, so I started looking into more variety so I don't go crazy watching the same videos over and over. I'm so pleased to see she has a huge collection of videos! I have ordered several now and am looking forward to many walks in the future. I don't have much weight to lose, I am in it more for health benefits and generally getting in good shape. I have been a member of other teams on Spark and I'm happy to see that this one is much more active than some others! Very excited for 2013!

Hi! My name is Sandy and I have a few pounds to walk away! I was introduced to Leslie's DVD's about 5 years ago. No matter what other exercise I do, I keep coming back to Leslie. I have several of the DVD's & have just re-started using them in the last week. I thought joining this group might help keep me motivated to exercise at least 5-6 days each week!

Hi Samantha!
wow 5 miles! That's great! I like 4 Fast Miles! from the walk slim series. The running time is 50 minutes with a 5 min warm-up, 5 min fast walk, 25 min interval walking, 10 min fast walk, then 5 min cool down. For some reason this one gets my heart pumping, and I work up more of a sweat than if I use the 5 mile fat burning walk.
I just got back into walking with Leslie last year after I had an ankle injury that took forever to heal, then left me with problems in my hip. I'm now up to 3 miles, but had to start off very slowly at a 1/2 mile. I hope to be doing the 4 -5 mile dvds again, still working on it!
Happy Walking lisa

Good morning!
I joined Spark People over the weekend because I need to get serious about losing weight. I've lost 37 pounds but am at a long stand still.
I'm 54 and have been doing Leslie workouts for many years. I started with the original "Walk Aerobics" tape, but now have several DVDs. I like using her Walk Social website, too.
I look forward to the accountability of Spark People and this team.
