Hi, I am new(er) and am just learning how to navigate on this site! So much to see....but, I thought I would share that I just walked my first official "leslie walk" today! I found the video online for free, although it was very small on the screen....but, I have ordered my DVD and it should be here by next week sometime. So, today I walked 2 miles, wow, that was quite a workout for walking...the video was for 3 miles, but I had to drop out at 2, as I am not in that good of shape yet.

I read that if junk food is the temptation, distract yourself with something else for 10mn., it is supposed to subside...(unless there is mint/chocolate chip ice cream in the freezer!)

Hi everyone I'm Tave and I have been on sp for over 2 years... I lost about 50 pounds.. then life got in the way and I gained them all back... plus a few :( I lost my weight doing Leslie Sansone and I intend to do it again! I am making a commitment to be active with this group and to do my walks daily... I've been working out about 90 minutes a week and I have been doing that for a month now so I am ready to do more now! Finally! Hope to get to know everyone!

Hi I'm Cheri and I just started walking with Leslie . So far I love it and made a goal to walk with Leslie for 100 days straight whether it be one,two ,three,four or five miles. I love these videos because I can do them even with bad knees.

Tonyageee, This is the answer from Teachinkids2:

Actually that is 3 times a week...doesn't matter the time or miles :)

I wish I had written that better but when I try to change it...it gets worse LOL
Some of it is auto as you put in the info and I should have done that better....May for January I will change it completely to miles for the New Year....

HELP - WALK WITH LESLIE 3 times per week TEAM GOAL - So what do you want for this? the miles I walked with Leslie, the minutes we walked or a 1 for walking with her one time that day? Thanks. This might be obvious to others but I put in minutes and then wondered.....

Hi all, I'm Tonya, and I just joined today. I typed Leslie Sansone in the search bar, lol, I was hoping to find some folks that loved the walking workout just as much as I do. I swear by it, and don't really venture out to do any others.
Anyhow, I'm 35, mother of two, not married anymore, and fixin' to go to the hair academy in a couple of months. I'm doing that career change thing, supposedly, a person does that twice in their lifetime, lol.

Hi, I'm Nancy. I joined SP May 01, 2011 and have progressed well. I am 57 years old and moved to TX from CA after we retired in 2010. A lot of weight fluffed me up and little or no exercise! My routine has usually included walking with some weight training....occasionally hooping & jazzercise. The drought was in my favor for outdoor walking but we are now getting cold here in the Hill Country of TX ...and even some moisture. It starts getting a little too uncomfortable when the temperatures are in the 20s. Last week I pulled one car out of the garage to make room for exercising on wet days. My laptop is set up with Jazzercise and Hooping DVDs. Works well for me but I really do like the walking. I had tried LS at my sister's in WI in June and knew it was an option. And I like LS's 5 miles. So I purchased that DVD and did it this morning....I had opened the garage door to walk in the big world and it was raining! I like having such a great workout in an hour. Love it. Thanks for the warm welcomes!

Hi, my name is Darlene, I'm 73 (almost 74) years young? No! I'm not old either, I'm a day older than I was yesterday.
I'm still married to the boy I married in 1955. We have four kids, 11 grandkids and LOTS of great grandchildren. One little boy (our newest great grandson) was born this past Thursday December 1st. His name is Matthew. I'm looking forward to holding him. It's been several years since I've held a baby. I hope to go to Washington in January to see him, (and hold him). love, Darlene

Hey everyone! I am new to the team but not to the site. I have actually been a member for a long time but just started back up with my weightloss about a week or 2 ago. I purchased some Leslie Sansone DVD's at TJ Maxx for like 3 bucks a piece and decided to give them a try. My sister and I have been walking with Leslie and so far I have lost 10 pounds! I love her workouts because they aren't too hard but they focus on the most important part of losing weight, which is getting up and moving! We have walked 18 miles total so far since we started and I can't wait to walk tomorrow!! If you are just starting out, I would recommend the 5 day walk one. We did that our first week and just completed the 4 mile walk on Saturday from her dvd that has the 3 and 4 mile advanced walks on it. I plan to get more of her dvds in the very near future!!! Gonna end this now, but can't wait to chat with some of ya'll.

While not new to SP or to this team, I felt like I needed to re-introduce myself to get going again. I've been without internet since April and I'm so excited to have it back! It's almost dark here in NE Texas when I get home from work, so I am waling with LS again...Walk Away Your Waistline and Walk Away Your Hips and Thighs are my favorites.

Hi my name is Deb and I have been sedentary for several years due to bad knees but that has changed since I had a knee replacement at the end of Sept. Hi name is Kathy and I have several Leslie dvds which are my goto exercise when the weather gets brutal or i want a break from the exercise bike. One of my favorites is the 5 day slim down and obviously if i would use this 5 days @ week I would have had a jump on my goal to 'slim down'emoticon never give up though. Aside from the fact I like the Leslie walk at home program I also liked the team goals which are challenging yet doable. emoticon Also enjoyed reading the many posts on this thread!

Hi, my name is Liz. I am new to this page, but not new to WATP. I first started using WATP 7 years ago & have incorporated it in my workouts ever since. The weather has begun to get cooler here & the words ice & snow are lingering in the forecasts, which means sooner than later I will be going full-time with the WATP dvd's. During spring, summer and fall, I walk outdoors, and use the dvd's when it's raining or too hot. During the winter months, I walk until the point where it is no longer "safe" and then for about 3-4 months am hardcore with the dvd's. I use a variety each week, as I love the change things up.

Hi, I just discovered this team today. I really enjoy WATP DVDs and am just getting back to them after having hip replacement surgery in August.

My recovery has gone well and my surgeon gave me the OK to do low impact aerobics . I must admit that I still use my cane for walking and probably won't get rid of it for a few more weeks. However I wanted to see if I could do a WATP DVD last week. I chose a 1 mile walk and was able to complete it, though I did have to use the cane a bit to keep my balance. Picture that in your minds, overweight, past middle age lady, using a cane to do an exercise DVD emoticon

I'm going to try a 2 mile walk today and see how it goes.

I have a collection of Leslie's DVDs, most of them several years old. I look forward to this teams suggestions for her newer workouts.

Hi! I'm new to this team and cannot wait to read the posts! I just found out about this team today! A kind Sparker sent me a note regarding a current plateau and found this site on their Spark Page! I think that the Leslie Sansone walking DVD's are fantastic. I have two of them(just got her newest one!) I have quite a few other exercise DVD's but I use the walking ones 2-3 times a week. When I need a bit of motivation, Leslie helps! I also have a couple of Jillian Michaels and Zumba ---- but, when I need a Boost--it is LS!

I have been doing Leslie's "5 mile fat-burning walk" for three weeks and have lost about seven pounds already! This is the only DVD of hers that I've tried so far. Can anyone give me a good suggestion of which one to buy next?

Hi everyone! I'm new to this team. I love working out to videos and get my Wii going occasionally. This team looks like it has a lot of members and is pretty active. I just received my new Fitbit and am still working on getting it set up. I still love my pedometer, but it is a bit bulky. I've worn a pedometer for years so the Fitbit is a new toy. :) I'm a true vidiot and have hundreds of workout videos. I just ordered 10 more Leslie's from Amazon and am waiting for their arrival. Ki've also been going through and identifying all of the 20 minute workouts I have so I can work on putting together a rotation of them. Keep sweatin'!

Hi, I'm Yvonne and have been walking with Leslie for a couple of years now, but mostly when I couldn't get outside to walk. I've use the videos quite a bit this summer because I didn't get up early enough to beat the heat.... almost 3 months of over 100° temperatures!

Joined this team because it looks like an active one.

I am a new old person. I have been Walking with Lisle for a year now. We started a Walking club at work and I do a mile every day. At lunch time we use our lunch break for a good walk. Since I live in sunny Florida it is too hot in the summer to walk outside so this is perfect. We can have 4 to 20 people walking every day and now have a few men joining our group. I was told my one man who runs 5K that this is a great cardio workout.

Hi I am Sandy and I join this team cause I just love Leslie Sansone walk at home DVD'S. I do the five mile walk video. I am married and have 7 kids ages from 19--2yrs old. I am a animals lover too as I have four dogs,two cats,one snake,one horse. She a mare about 21yrs old. I live in Victorville,CA . I been with spark for about a couple of years now. I just love it here. My goal is to lose 60 pounds as my goal is 130. I need all the support I can get cause I trend to lose focus at times.Thanks for the warm welcome Guy's

Hi all, I just found this team. I'm 51 and have thyroid issues that I'm just finally getting checked out (there's a nodule and my doctor doesn't think it's too serious from looking at my thyroid ultrasound but wants me to see an endocrinologist just in case). I joined SparkPeople in early July and have lost almost 15 pounds already. emoticon

I never heard of Leslie Sansone till I read an inspiring story on SP of a woman who lost 60 lbs just by doing the home workouts. It never occurred to me to look here on the SP site to see if other people used her workouts -- I just went off to Amazon and spent about three baffling hours trying to figure out which DVD to buy. Finally I picked the 4 Mile Super Challenge and I've been doing it for about two weeks now, three to five times a week, plus other walking outdoors.

Walking indoors is great because the daily LOW temp where I live is around 92 degrees right now, with highs over 110. I still manage to get out for walks with my husband (when we're not having a dust storm or other air-quality issues) late at night, but I can't ride my bike anymore in this heat and so it's great to be able to do a good workout in private with the AC cranked down to 72, half-naked and with a ceiling fan on high directly above me! emoticon Looking forward to winter and being outdoors a lot more!

Since I was already pretty active even at my weight, I was able to get through the whole 4 Mile Super Challenge on the first try. That made me feel pretty good. Don't get me wrong, I was sore afterward! I like it that the movements change so often; the ones that I don't like or that are harder for me don't last too long! I'm getting bored with this DVD, though, and looking to get a couple of other ones to alternate with it. Any suggestions?

This looks like a great place to find encouragement!

I'm trying to get motivated.
I always think i'm ready to lose the weight but don't follow though.
I've made a commitment to do2 of the team goals, so I hope to follow through on the workouts.
With the workout routines, I hope the eating part will hand in hand.

Hello Team! -- I walked with Leslie Sansone many years ago, but didn't keep up. I joined SparkPeople on August 6th and so far have lost 5 pounds! While I was reading success stories, I came across a member who had MS and used Leslie's DVD's to help her lose weight. I was very impressed with her story and decided that Leslie was just what I needed. I have been walking and riding bikes with my daughter and son, but now that school has started, I'm on my own!!! I have a treadmill but that tends to get boring. I ordered two DVD's and can't wait to get them.

I have been walking with Leslie for the last couple of yrs.....I have went from a size 12 to a size 8 which I have never been in my life.....I have alot of her dvd's and got most of them well in Florida.....I enjoy walking with Leslie and enjoy the walking inside....I do walk outside but only if Ihave someone to walk with....safer in pairs...
I am from Canada....and have 3 grown boys and 7 grandchildren who are all very precious to me and I think keeps me feeling young...

Hello, I've been a Leslie Sansone fan since around 2004 when I first started using her videos on a daily basis to help me lose about 50 lbs of the 250 I was carrying at the time. 20lbs of that kept coming back, but is now gone for what I intend to be forever since I started making a full ilfestyle change in January of this year and when I joined SparkPeople in May of this year. No matter what other exercises I do, I always come back to Leslie's videos as a major helper in my weight loss journey. I love being able to walk indoors where it is reasonably safe and where weather isn't an issue or barrier (although it was so hot inside this morning when I did my 3 mile walk that I went outside to cool down by walking around the house a few times.)

Hello. I was introduced to Leslie's website in late July and joined at that time. Because of traveling, I haven't been able to be as consistent as I'd like, but I love her workouts. I have reached a plateau in my weight loss and am hoping that walking with Leslie will be what I need to lose weight again. I have enjoyed the variety of videos on the website and look forward to being able to be consistent now that I am back from my travels.

Hi All! I started using Leslie's Walk the Walk dvd in June. I needed a low impact exercise workout to start with since I didn't exercise before. In July I found SP and jumped in with both feet! I'm learning so much about fitness and nutrition and I love the motivation and support aspects as well. The members are AWESOME! I recently bought WATP ultimate edition with the resistance band. I've done the 3 mile workout twice now. I love how each workout is different to some degree. I am easily bored! So far I've walked with Leslie 80 miles and I've lost 18 pounds. I'm happy to have found this group that is dedicated to Leslie's walking workouts! I haven't lost all that much weight yet but I have soooooo much energy now and I am seeing results. I can't say enough good things about Leslie Sansone!

I am new to the team, but not new to Leslie. Before she was famous, I used to work out in her gym in New Castle, PA. (the Club- now defunct) I took her classes and loved every second of it,

Today I do her videos bc it makes me feel more like at home.

I am not totally new, I am just recommitting myself to walking and this team since I've been slacking.

I am committing myself to walking on days when I cannot go to the gym. I usually go to the gym 3-4 days a week. so I will be walking 3-4 days as well.

Welcome, LAF - I love this SparkPeople stuff! I have been walking with Sansone for many years (about nine of them in fact) - it's always there, regardless of what the weather is like or the time of day, and I really enjoy her "gentle" workouts - no crashing the knees or spraining the ligaments involved :-) You have made a good start - welcome on board!

Hi I'm trying to focus on one small weight loss goal at a time. I'm hoping all my small goals will equal up to help me reach my large goal of reaching 150to 160 pounds. I appreciate any advice or support you can share. I currently weigh 220.6 I am getting closer and closer I started this journey at 277 pounds.

Hi, there! I'm new to sparking but have been doing Leslie Sansone for years - started Walking with Leslie clear back in 2003! Back then I was still homeschooling youngsters and I would do my tape every morning after Bible reading. Now I do Sansone dvd's 2 or 3 times a week - when I know the weather or the schedule won't allow hiking etc. I also love to backpack, kayak, ballroom dance, and just walk freeform. Unfortunately, I also love to eat... and in spite of having lost 60 pounds 3 years ago, 20 of them have found me again so here we go - have to reverse this trend!

emoticon I've been *Spark*ing for 3 months now (hey! I just realized today is my 3-month anniversary!), and purchased LS's "Fast 3-Mile Walk" dvd a few weeks ago because it's getting too dang HOT in Houston to walk outside, even in the early morning hours! I look forward to getting to know all of you, especially when I'm finished with the BLC-16 challenge (it's taking a lot of my Spark time!) in a few more weeks. Maybe you can help guide me towards other LS dvd's that are low-impact; I had back surgery at the beginning of the year and still can't jump or run, which makes it hard to increase the intensity of my workouts as I move further along on my weight loss journey.

I am new this team. I love to walk walk with Leslie. Been wakling about a week. I was out of town yesterday and did not know that she only has the 1 and 2 free for to walk. The others you have to buy is that true. Shoot. It takes 2 hours to go out of town. Will have to just keep doing the free ones on line over till I get to go next month again.

Can anyone tell me how many minutes I should put on my tracker for doing number 1 and 2.
I just did her before breakfast.
It seem to be like 20 minutes.
I want to do atleast 25.
So should I do # 1 first and then click to the 1 and 2 to get the 30 minutes in.

I read if one wants to lose for to get weight off.
To do about 5 times a week.

I have atleast 15 to lose by Sept. Was my Goal.

Hello! I'm Missy, and I love working out with Leslie! I have three of her workout dvd's, Walk Slim 4 mile challenge, Walk Away the pounds and Walk your belly Flat. I have been on a diet since 2/20/2011 and have lost 31 pounds. I workout with Leslie daily and I believe it has helped me to get where I'm at. Her workouts are awesome!

Hi! I'm Valerie. I'm new to SP but have been using Leslie's dvds for over a year, usually 7 days a week . I also love walking outdoors with my husband & 3 yr old and doing Nike Training Club workouts! I've lost over 70 lbs in the past two years but still have about 13 to go to get to my goal.

Hey all new to sp today and new to Leslie Sansone too after a friend recommended her workouts.

I walked the 2 mile walk today for the first time and absolutely loved it aim to follow one of her workouts at least 3 times a week more if I can

Hi. Just joined the team today. I have been doing WATP for 2 months now. I love it! So far I have lost almost 20 pounds and feel great. I do Leslie's videos 6 days a week and I have just added running a mile outdoors. I am in week 2 of training to run a mile without stopping.

Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion, you must set yourself on fire!

Hi. I am new to Leslie Sansone Walking. Haven't heard of it before. Thought it looked a good concept so I have ordered the only DVD available to me in the UK as I can only play region 2 DVDs. I have ordered the 2 mile walk. I have also ordered Walk off the pounds with Lorraine Kelly as it was a bargain price. Don't know how I will do with them but I will give it a go. emoticonemoticon
