I just joined the team and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Vicki and I'm 57 years old. I have a good bit of weight to lose but I know I will get it off of me once and for all. Added support from fellow sparkers will help to keep me motivated. Look forward to getting to know you. emoticon

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this group. My name is Melinda and I've been on SP for quite some time. I'm making this year my year of health and fitness. And I hope that this group can help me find motivation and some positive thinking to love my body while I'm in the process of changing it for the better.
I have several health issues and one of the worse parts in my mind, is the manic bipolar disorder. Sure I have Fibromyalgia but I know how to push through the pain. As long as I have a good day (mentally) I can do anything. But there are so many days where I just hate myself. And thats gonna get me nowhere fast!
So I come to this group to find some happy positive friendly people to surround myself around on my journey.
I hope I can be a great teammate. Talk to everyone soon.

They call me ~ Gypsy ~

Hey there. I've been using SparkPeople off and on for a few years. I was a student and often got sidetracked with school work.

Body positivity is extremely important, especially on weight loss pages. That's why I chose to join this team. Let's all focus on loving how amazing our bodies are at any weight.

Hello everyone! My name is Sarah, and I'm a returning Sparker from Knoxville, TN. I joined a few years ago, but I wasn't fully invested in a life change. I joined again last month, but I am just now getting around to the message boards. I got married last summer, and I love my new life. Meeting my Prince Charming has really made me realize that I am putting my happiness in jeopardy through my bad habits / unhealthy decisions. I want to be around to love my husband for as long as humanly possible. I'm trying to learn to love my body the way he does.

I'm trying to live a more natural lifestyle and just make better choices in general. I didn't gain all of this weight quickly, so I know that I won't lose it all at once. I'm looking for friends / motivation to help me complete my journey :)

Hi, my name is Maria and I am working on not disappointing myself so much. As of right now, my 1st goal is to lose enough weight so that I don't run out of air so quickly. This has never happened before. Completely out of control!

~ I'm 26 years old.
~ I love to play volleyball recreationally.
~ I've been sparking on and off since 2008. I love the site.

I'm always looking for new SparkFriends so stop by my page and give me an add.

My name is Colette and I am living in Calgary, Alberta Canada. I joined SparkPeople a long time ago but did not really use it. I came back and it seems have been spinning my wheels for the last 18 months. I really want 2014 to be my year where I get back to the land of the living and learning to love my body is at the root of it all.

Whether I have more pounds or less having contempt for one's own image never did anyone any good ever. So after a life time of self deprecating comments and a general negative attitude(I cleverly disguised as wit), I am trying self love and I think I have found the key....finally!

Hello all!
I'm Wendi, 36 years young from Denver.
I'll keep this short and sweet...I'm on a journey to get healthy, but also to fall in love with myself in the process. If I can't love me the way I am now, how will I be in love with me later?

Everyone has a story...take a minute to find out what it is before judging them.

Hi everyone!
My name is Jennifer, I am 23 years old and live in Europe. I've been on a weight loss journey for over a year now (sometimes gaining, sometimes losing), but I feel like I need a positive mindset to continue on my journey succesfully. Sometimes that's hard for me though, I tend to be really tough on myself, untill I get into I-don't-care-about-my-health-anymore mode and I start to binge eat.
Today I read somewhere, that I should treat myself as I would treat my best friend. That made me think. I might as well have a positive attitude towards myself and enjoy the journey that I am on!
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. Hopefully we can all help each other to reach our goals, and which goal could more important than to be positive and happy?

Hello! My name is Laura. I am a 32 year old mother of three. I am a fairly fit woman who is really working on getting into the best shape I can. Sounds great, right? I am 5'4" and a size 6/8. I also suffer from Body Dismorphic Disorder. My brain knows that a size 6 is skinny, but my eyes see something much bigger. I abscess over the scale and my size. I am working so hard to overcome this. I just want to love who I am.

Hello all! I'm one year into my discovery of adipositivity and size acceptance. I do online activism, have begun practicing yoga, and feel like I'm taking better care of myself than I ever did when I thought being fat was a bad thing and made me a bad person. My main hope is to help maintain my positivity and help others discover that being fat is not the horrible thing that the diet and medical industry has convinced us it is. It doesn't make you sloppy, lazy, unattractive, and more importantly - being thinner will not magically make you happier. The only way to start enjoy your life is to start! Once you start loving the body you have, and realize that you CAN be fat and healthy and happy - it's just the beginning.

Hi! My name is Marie-Claude and I am from Brossard, Quebec. I joined SparkPeople a long time ago and with time and other things going on (blog, FB, work) I stopped coming. I came back this morning and I am so glad I did What a beautiful community!.

I exercise because I like it and because I want to stay in shape. I don't necessarily want to lose weight. I am at a point where I love myself for what I am and all I want is to be a better person in general.

The best has yet to come.

Hi! My name is Ann. I don't like how I look at all. I'm 100 lbs over weight and my BMI is like 48. I'll be honest. I avoid mirrors at all costs. I'm severely depressed. I have a wonderful husband of 33 yrs that tells me I'm beautiful about 10 times a day but I think its because he knows I feel ugly (inside and out). I don't want him to have to reassure an insecure wife every day. Its not fair to him or me. Its bad enough that he has to deal with all myhealth problems at my age. I'm only 46 and have RA, fibro,COPD, and as I said severe depression. I hope this group can help me motivate myself to love me. I'm happy to be here.

Hi, I am Kat.
I am 24 years old and I just recently joined SparkPeople.
I agree with the post about how a lot of teams are more on dieting instead of being comfortable with who you are. I am not at a stage where I "need" to lose weight. I am just wanting to feel comfortable with my body, feel pretty/sexy, and feel healthier.

To be honest, I do not really know what to put here and I am not always socially adept. I will try my best...

I have had self esteem issues since I can remember. In high-school, I started working on changing who I was on the inside. Sometime in college, I got to the point where I felt I had finally "fixed" myself. In college I also got to the point where I felt pretty. In the past year or two, I have lost that feeling. I tried to slim down a bit in July, and I did a tiny bit. However, I have gained it all back and a little more. My bf keeps telling me I am sexy but to be honest I am not quite comfortable with my body anymore. I like one or two parts, but not everything. I just want to feel good about how I look, and be healthier.

Overall, I am trying to be happy with all of me, not just the person I have grown into on the inside.

=^.^= Meow

Hello! I'm Emily, I'm 31, and I've been on spark for a few years now, working on and off toward really establishing that healthy lifestyle to lose the weight and keep it off.

Over the summer I've lost 25 pounds, and have lots more I'd like to lose! I really struggle staying on track with the eating, so I've been losing the same 2 to 4 pounds for all of September, really. Looking to break new ground in October, and move forward with better consistency!

Every day is a new beginning, a fresh chance to make great progress! Leave yesterday behind, and focus on what is in front of you now.

I started a new and healthier lifestyle based on a suggestions from my physician. He provided me with literature and studies showing how I could improve my blood work, get my glucose under control and loss weight .

I did great for about 4 months - and lost 22 pounds. But then, I fell back into the "I want to do whatever I want" mode. It was intense - and lasted for about 2 1/2 months. I gained back 10 pounds, and my blood work plummeted.

So, I've been back on track for a few days now. What I realize is that I need to change my mindset so what I want to do are those things that will keep me healthy.

I signed up with Sparkpeople months ago to give myself a place to record my exercise and dietary goals. However, I didn't sign up for any teams.

Maybe, with the help of some virtual friends, I'll be able to stick to the program a wee bit better - and longer.

Hope to see you about the site.

Hi, All! I'm new to SP. My dad has lost about 35 pounds with the support of this site, and I'm all for it! I'm on the "love your body" journey, but am not there yet. At 5'4" and 195 lbs, I'm frustrated - with my job, with myself, and with my lack of motivation to do the things I know I need to do to be healthy and happy. Positivity is one of my greatest strengths, and I am looking to be supportive of others in my journey to loving me!

Hi everyone! I've returned to sparkpeople after about a 2 year hiatus. At 219 I'm the heaviest I have ever been (besides pregnancy). I'm 6'1" and even at my skinniest high school weight I had curves, so clothes shopping has always been tough for me. I live in the Seattle area with my teenage daughter and my boyfriend. I want to love my body more in order to help my daughter with her body issues she is struggling with.

Woah. How did I miss this group when I first did a sweep through teams last month.

LOVE IT. You don't see much body positive stuff on sparkpeople, its all about a diet mentality.

Anywho, I'm jennica, I'm a 22 year old retail slave who has spent the last 7 months learning how to love myself and shifting my mindset from talking myself down to pumping myself up. The result? about 35 pounds down and a million new experiences I would've missed out on if I hadn't dedicated myself to a positive mindset being "easy" on myself. Go me :D and go you too damn it!!

Feel free to add me, I'm not on here much. But I'm starting a new private facebook group, since it's sooo much easier to navigate from a smartphone than sparkpeople. I really want to create a body positive, healthy, network of badass women on similar journeys. Message me for more details! :D

Have a good monday ladies!

Hi I'm Mary. Been struggling with self love for lots of years but am feeling like I am finally learning to be kind to myself. I am eating on the primal side of things, because it is how I feel my best. I walk most every day and I also use my rowing machine. I am excited to be part of this team!!!

I'm Clara, and I'm still fairly new here at Spark People. Loving my body is something that I just don't don't how to do. I'm used to being criticized about my weight and flaws, so my mind will take off and point them out whenever I look in the mirror. I too have a horrid problem with negative self-talk and self-hatred. That's why I joined this team. How can I, as a daughter of the Most High King of Kings, hate my own flesh? I desperately need to be taught to see the positive things about me, and not be focused on my flaws. When the criticism begins, I need to learn to ignore it and not feel totally rejected. Problem is, I have no earthly clue where to begin! I've always had a low self-esteem! Even was I was super skinny and 115 lbs! I hope that I will find the help and support that I need, and be able to support and encourage others as well!

I started learning how to live a healthier lifestyle 5 years ago at age 25. I've lost as much as 35 pounds, twice, and gained it back. I'm now 10 pounds lighter from my highest weight, 5 years more experienced, and 30 years wise.
I know I feel better when I workout and when I eat closer to the earth vs processed, convenience food. I'm excellent with goal setting and planning, have the best husband in the whole wide world, and trust that I am child of God.
Wow... I should be totally happy, like all the time, right? Not so much. Not when I go clothes shopping, or 85% of the time that I look in a mirror. Sometimes I can't even get on the bandwagon when my loving husband tells me how pretty or sexy I am. (I've been known to roll my eyes.)
The revelation is that I am bound by perfectionism, harsh self-criticism, and I would say almost hateful negative self-talk. I wouldn't talk to ANYONE I love with the voice inside my head. I'm not sure if it matters WHY I do this, or WHERE it came from... I come from a good home, hardworking Midwestern ethics, and all that jazz. I think the importance is in recognizing that it's happening and putting an end to it...because if I can't love myself/my body now, what difference will changes to my body make?
So, I've joined your team - and I'm hoping to find and provide support. I believe we are to be good stewards over the body/mind/soul we've been entrusted with. From food we put in our mouths to words that come out. Now if only I can begin to see myself with such love and grace.

God made me and He doesn't make junk.

Happy Easter.
I'm a 56 year old woman that is working on making healthier choices in what I eat and how much exercise I get. I no longer own a scale but will measure my success by how my clothes fit and how my energy level is. I'd like to get to the point where I no longer need high blood pressure pills and would love to go from my current size of 3XL down to a size Large.
I tend to lose motivation after awhile so hope the team will help to keep me motivated.

Hi everyone! I'm Laura, I'm 27. I really love SP for all the help it provides for people who really want to make a difference in their lives. I want to be a part of some good teams, and there are a lot to choose from. I feel like this is a great one, because even with all the positive vibes on Spark, (to me) there are still way too many negative people and posts. It's okay to love your body, even if it's not the ideal size. If you're not happy with you, and love and respect yourself now- even if you lose the pounds, you might not gain the positive results you're looking for!

I've always been a big girl, and it took me a long time to be comfortable in my skin. But once I realized that it doesn't matter what I look like (especially to other people!) I've become so much happier, all around. As an adult I've weighed anywhere between 165 and 245, and I know that any one of those sizes I was, and still am beautiful- inside and out. Sometimes you just have those days- everything feels and looks gross, but if you can pick out just one thing to be positive about on one of those days, you're moving in the right direction.

I'm happy to find and join this team, and I'm happy to help if anybody needs any support! I'm open to support as well. :)

Hi, I am Sharon! I am a couple of years shy from the big 60!!! Yikes! I have been a member of Spark People since 12/2009. I use to run a lot, training for races from 5 K's up to Full Marathons, up until two years ago after having surgery. I gained 50 pounds in a short period of time due to inactivity and not lowering my food intake. When I was running I could not eat enough to keep weight on..I saw this group and thought this would be very motivating to me to learn to accept myself no matter where my weight is.

I was thinking about something the other day. When someone says that you are beautiful it should be a good thing. I wish I could believe it. I need to work on loving my body flaws and all.

Hi, I'm 56 years old, going through menopause, have hypothyroidism, and plantar faciatis (sp?). I love walking and then my heal hurts. Has anyone gone through the same thing that can give me tips on how to stay active but not hurt my heal? I also live in Wisconsin so the winters aren't always very helpful. I need motivation.

Hi, I am a 63 year old, married woman with 2 adult children. I have been a member of Sparkpeople off and on for 4 years. I really got serious within the last 2 years, playing trivia, huddling, blogging. I'm all in. Had a stroke 2 years ago and am still trying to lose weight and take better care of myself.. I look forward to being a member of this team.

Hello everyone!
I am a 25 year old mom of a toddler, wife to my best friend, full-time student in my last year of getting my business diploma and have another little one on the way who will be here in six and a half weeks! My life is hectic, to say the least! In the past few years, mainly since I started having my children, I have lost all love for my body and I am really looking to gain that back!
I look forward to getting to know everyone!
Cheers!

Hi, I'm Becca! I'm 20 years old and from Owensboro, KY. I've always struggled with my weight, and have been yo-yoing for the past 4 years. I'm ready to shed the weight and KEEP it off! I also have had PCOS for the last 6 years, it has played a big role in my weight gain. I hope everyone has a great day! emoticon

Welcome, Brittni! Did you watch the tutorials (links are posted in the general thread of your class team) and set up your trackers and goals yet?

Do you have a means of cooking for yourself at school, or are you stuck with what they serve?

Hi ya'll! I'm Brittni! I'm a junior in college and it's hard to make healthy food choices here with a lack of options. I've also dealt with a lot of major life changes in the past year that have aided in my habit of eating to deal with stress. I'm starting today on a journey to lose 40 pounds. I'm trying to navigate the site on where the best place to start is. Any suggestions?

Anything is something, compared to nothing, which is...well, NOTHING. (Sorry...really, please excuse me...it's late, and I'm tired and a little loopy from computer-project-ing all night!)

Not gonna lie: it won't be easy. But hopefully your new SparkFriends can help through.

What's the plan?

Hey guys-

I'm new to Sparkpeople and stumbled across this wonderful page. Loving my body is something I really need to work on and this seems like the place and time to start!

I've gained 145 lbs over the past year and a half, likely due to medications, but the doctors I've been seeing haven't provided any answers. My health is in the crapper as well, and daily life can be a struggle. But I'm keeping my head high and trying to think possitive about this weight loss journey. I've lost about 10 lbs since starting a high protien plan in late June, so I guess that's something!

Hope you all have a great day :)

Rheyn,
Thank you for the kind welcome! Yes, support would be great!

What do I already like about my body? Tough question though. Like I said, between needing to lose weight and having a lot of pain a lot of the time, I often tell myself that I hate my body and almost envy people who have a good relationship with their bodies. I've never had that.

But, I guess maybe I like my thick, dark hair and my fingernails. I know it's not much, but it's something I suppose. I don't necessarily like my hair all of the time, but a lot of people say they wish their hair was thick like mine. I'm getting more and more grays, so the dark part is here and there now. :) My fingernails b/c I take the money I make tutoring and get my nails done once every other week. They usually look pretty good after that.

Sorry, but that's all I can think of right now. If you asked me what was wrong with my body, I could go on forever. emoticon

Thanks for asking!

Hi! I'm Viki and I joined this team b/c I don't know if I've ever loved my body. I was a chubby kid and always had problems finding clothes, fitting in, etc. As I grew up, I matured early and hated that I was so much taller than everyone (5'11" by 8th gr.,). Now that I'm older, you'd think I'd be past it and just accept myself, but I have a lot of chronic health issues and many of them cause me pain and restrict my activities, exercise, travel, etc. I'm hoping that if I lose the 65 lbs. I want to lose (could stand to lose more!), maybe I can accept my body a little more. I'm hoping that some of the pain will go away and some of my health problems will get better or be gone all together.

I'm the mother of a 12 yo boy who is starting to enter the self-conscious phase of pre-teendom, so I try not to talk about this stuff around him. I don't want him to have the same issues I'm having as an adult. He's grown quickly too (he hit 5'6" this month), but he's taking it better than I ever did!

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and supporting each other on our long road to health and happiness. Weight loss is important, but skinny people can be unhappy with their bodies too. On this journey, we need to work on the outside AND the inside to make it all work together. :)

Hi, everyone! I joined this group because I am constantly working to accept my body the way it is. It's really tough, especially while working towards a better body, but I think the trick is to shift focus and work towards a healthier lifestyle. I also joined because I absolutely LOVE the idea of posting cravings instead of indulging in them! You can bet I will be participating in that thread! Haha!

Hello everyone. I decided to join this team because this is exactly what I need. To learn how to love my body how it is. It's not changing as fast as I want it to and I think I need to learn to be okay with myself no matter how I am because I'm a good person no matter what the scale decides to tell me. I'm also getting married here in less than 2 years and it's my fiance's peeve that I hate my body so much when he thinks I'm beautiful. I need to learn to see what he sees...

Hi, Kristen. Those sound like good prenatal activities, and having good habits in place before your next little one comes will make things a bit easier when you do want to kick things up. Welcome to the team!

Hello everyone!

My name is Kristen. I am 24, have a two and a half year old son and another baby on the way. I'm not really looking to lose weight at the moment but I am looking to be healthy and to love myself. I am very hard on myself and always tearing myself down, which is something I am trying to work hard at changing. After I had my son I really began hating the changes that my body had gone through.

I am watching what I eat and trying to get out walking. I do yoga and belly dance when my body will let me. At the moment some things are a bit tender and sore.

I look forward to meeting everyone else on the team and making some new friends!

Cheers!

Welcome to the team, SSF. Even though it sounds like you don't think you are making very big changes, just cutting out the extra sugar (or worse: chemicals!) from soda and juice (i.e. empty calories), and choosing fresh F&Vs for your snacks are healthy habits that can have a huge impact, not just because you are eating and drinking better, but because you will see how much better you feel and be motivated to make other improvements. Do you plan to add exercise to your new lifestyle?

Congratulations on your engagement!

Hi everyone.
I just got engaged on 6.22.13 and have decided to join this group. I have been on spark before and just felt lost. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired and have decided to do something about it. It a tad bit overwhelming aww who am I kidding its OVERWHELMING to the 100th degree. I just don't know where to start really. One thing I have done this far is to cut out sodas and juices. I mainly drink water and tea (no sugar added) I have also decided to snack on fruits I like (grapes, apples, plum, pears) and the occasional vegetable (carrots- i can eat a whole mini bag in a day) I have not done enough research on nuts as i eat those as well.
My date is tentatively set to 7.12.13.

One thing I will do in his group is be honest on how I feel. If I am having a great day I will post and let you know if I am having a bad or crappy day where I want to sit down and stick my hand in a vat of dark chocolate and just lick it with a glass of Malbec wine I will let you know.

So hi everyone and thank you for welcoming me in on this journey.

Wingless, I can sympathize with your continuing to feel like the "fat chick" even when you were thin. I recently realized I've been wearing the wrong size underwear for the past, like, five years because I was convinced my rear really needed pants that big.

So, this team seems like a good idea for me.

I am definitely a "Fat Girl" - not always in body, but ALWAYS in mentality. I was the token fat chick in my group in high school. After, I went on the "I'm-poor-and-have-to-choose-between-food-
and-rent" diet. I dropped to 130 pounds, and I had never looked so good. Except I didn't realize it then. I still saw the fat chick. Weight yo-yo'd for a little while, and after having my oldest at 21, postpartum depression set in, weight started climbing. Back-and-forth more, and short version is I ended up here, at 29, weighing 235 pounds.

The thing is, anytime I was "skinny" I didn't know it. Until later, when I'd look back at pictures and ask myself "What in the WORLD was I complaining about?"

Now I'm with an awesome chick who constantly tells me how beautiful/cute/sexy/gorgeous I am. And I don't get it. I want to see whatever it is she sees, because to be honest, hating the way you look sucks.

So yeah. That's kind of along intro. Um...

Hi!

Hi, everyone, my name is Rheyn (rain), and I've been on SP for a few years, but only began to participate in teams a few months ago. (The experience got exponentially better!) I'm new to the group, and to making a commitment to permanently loving my body.

I find myself constantly frustrated by how cute styles look awful on me, even though I'm at a healthy weight, and have been known to come to tears because of it. I have always been a PRIVATE body self-hater (only my husband has seen the ugliness of the breakdowns), but in some ways it's worse than if I lamented my (I can admit, probably mostly imagined) issues to others.

ANYWAY, I'm glad this team exists, and that I finally joined.

Hello everyone! I am new to this group but not to SP! I have struggled with my body image since pregnancy. I just had my baby girl in December and she completes our family so I really need to get it all right now to be an example for her.

Hi.....My name is Kim and I am new member to spark people and I accidentally ran across it while looking for inexpensive ways to help me with my weight loss. I love what Spark People does and I am excited to be on my journey to a thinner me. I have done this time and time again and sometime successful and sometimes not. My saying was as long as I never hit the 200 mark well Never say never because I hit it. I haven't looked in a mirror for sometime now and I need to learn how to love me first.....Excited to meet new people who struggle with similar issues. emoticon

Hi there! Call me bunnielight. Bunnie has always been my internet name, and I intend on keeping it that way. :)

If you go to my page you can read my full story on my road to loving myself, but over the years I've lost a lot of weight and discovered the importance of taking care of your body. It improves your emotional well being as well as your daily capability to do the things you love.

I've been on sparkpeople for a while now but only recently started using it regularly. It's helped me massively with watching my nutrients and holding me accountable with my fitness goals and plans.

Good morning team! My name is Andrea... I've been a member of this Spark Team for a while but I haven't really been staying involved... I've just recently re-started my program after "falling off the wagon" over the summer. I'm already down 3.5 pounds and happy to be here.

I think the idea of this team is wonderful. Everyone is beautiful in their own way and I think a big obstacle that a lot of us run into is learning to accept who we are.

I'm always looking for new Sparkfriends so please feel free to stop by my page!

Hi. I joined SP this summer and have found it a really useful web site. I have lost almost 30 pounds since joining, so I am really excited about keeping it up! I'm 45 and live in the Northwest with my 22 y/o and 5 year old doggie. I've never loved my body, but I'd like to some day, so thought this would be a good place to start!

Thanks!

Hi Everyone!

I've been a spark member for a while, but really got into being fit/healthy when I moved and started a new job. I'm 29, have a family history of diabetes and obesity, and lost my sister at 37 to a pulmonary embolism. Last spring I began eating gluten/casein free in order to alleviate severe allergy symptoms--something that has been the catalyst to my weight lost. I feel SO MUCH BETTER eating whole, fresh, foods. I've also increased my exercise, and have really begun to crave it. I love the way I feel when I get to exercise (power walking with my dog mostly). Being out in nature is also a big bonus. Anyway....here I am! :)

Hello everyone .I've been part of the SP community for over 4 mons.w/no stable wt. loss.I was always made to feel like something was wrong with me by people I trusted developed very early, very curvy & was shunned by female relative , & made un-comfortable by most men, eating seemed to help. Once I gained lots of wt. the "hating" by others stopped ,by everyone but me (they still wanted nothing positive to do with me). So I never really even had a chance to love my body & 54 y/o I don't know if Mother Nature's dimmed my eyes enough to tolerated the glory of it al! I'm ready to love my Temple. Looking forward for the journey. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

HELLO ALL!!

I'm Dee Dee, 45yrs young and loving life. Very suprised to find this team but so glad I did. Lots of the time not a big fan of my own reflection. Which I even think is silly because I'm just so darn cute. Yet for those days that are gloomy, this group seems the winner for support.

Hey there ladies,
I just celebrated my 30th birthday, and live in a smaller rural community in Ontario Canada. I've been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember. After the birth of my 2nd child, I decided to get serious about shedding the unwanted lbs, and I did it!!!!!!! For awhile anyway.....
Through the support of friends and our own little "Chub Club" I managed to lose 61lbs though I gained a couple back as I was happier at the 56lb mark. I did really well at maintaining (+ or -5lbs) for a year and a half. Then I let life get back in the way. I no longer work out which I was doing daily, and I don't pay attention to what I'm eating anymore. I've gained 15 lbs (on top of my +5 variance) and need to get back into what I refer to as the game of my life before another 15lbs creeps up on me.
I joined sparkpeople as my fellow "club" members have also fallen, but aren't interested in climbing back up at this point.
I worked my butt off to lose that weight, and I'm not about to let it get the best of me.
I'm looking for motivation, and accountability.

Hello ladies,

My name is Keisha but you can call me (Keish). I've been a sparkpeople member since 2007 & lost 40 pounds using this site. Recently, I gave birth to my first child, a daughter this past April. Much to my dismay, I gained 86 pounds!!!!!!! I've never weighed so much in my life.
I know that it took nine months to build my baby-growing body & I'm going to give myself that same amount of time to get back into my pre-prego shape. My goals are to find my way back into (most) of my fave pre-baby clothes & to feel good in my skin again. I decided to join this team for some extra motivation, support & to meet new people.
I wish you all success & look forward to cheering each other on. Take care!!

Hi everyone!
I joined this team a few days ago but have been quite busy and haven't had a chance to introduce myself. My name is Kristen, I am 23, just got married a little over a month ago and have a one and a half year old son who keeps me on my toes all day long! I am also getting ready to go to college this year so that's just going to add a whole bunch of new planning to my plate!

I have been struggling with getting my weight down into a healthy range. I'm not looking to look good in a bikini (though it wouldn't hurt) I just really want to be healthy. I want to make the most of my life and so I am trying to get things in order now so I am free to enjoy the rest of it!

I am really happy to be here on SparkPeople and am looking forward to making new friends on this journey!

Cheers!
-Kristen-

Hello! I am happy to be here!

I am 28 yr old south asian woman. single. very social. I had a tough time managing the loss of a loved one in June 2010, and gained 30 pounds over the last year as a way to cope with the pain. I now want to lose that protective covering.

I enjoy real conversations and real people. Talking to my friends; reading and writing in cafes and coffee shops; meditation; and moving my body. I am a vegetarian and like salads and fruits; but also like sweet flavors and carbs. :)

Want to be my buddy? We could be super helpful to each other if your motivations in life are service, being grounded, and are into spirituality. I need help increasing my protein intake without increasing the fat content; making exercise a habit; and cultivating interesting ways to cope with emotional distress and boredom.

Would love to hear from you! Message me.

Hi everyone. I'm Michelle, I'm 21 years old and a recent college graduate. My goal is to lose the weight I put on in college! I'm about to start in the workforce and I want to go into my first day of work happy, healthy and confident.

My problem area? Lower stomach. I don't have hips so where there is fat there, I muffin top. anyways, working on accepting this part of my body so I can be happy!

I'm Kelli, 28, married with a 5yr old. I've had a battle with depression for awhile. Sometimes it's worse than others. Overall, doing pretty decent, but I feel like I'm always on the lookout to try to keep from slipping too far. Body image and self confidence are big issues for me. I think the worst was was after my miscarriage...serious body love issues after that.

Hi-I always hated my body. I was fat since early childhood and was always teased. I'm sure that plays a large role in my agoraphobia, as I rarely leave my house.

Hi :) My name is Julie. I'm 25, and have been active on Spark for over a year now. I've recently started delving into the psychological aspects of losing weight (and gaining it!). I'm still tracking calories, working out regularly, and drinking lots of water, but I've found that I've become interested in WHY I treat my body like a garbage disposal when I'm supposed to love it! I recently finished up a Positivity Challenge which shed some light on some of my emotional issues. Happy to be here and make some new Sparkfriends :)

Hi! My name is Katie. I am eighteen years old, and sadly, I have been fighting with my body image for years. I have always found it hard to lose weight in my lower half. I could lose it on top, but I always had big legs (17 inch calves currently). When I was really young, I didn't have issues with my body. I was happy. Then, when middle school came along, the torture began. I was constantly reminded of my big legs. If people didn't tell me I had big legs to my face, they would talk about how I was fat behind my back. Instead of doing something about it, I let those words eat at me, until my self esteem had gone way down. When freshman year came, I was at my biggest. Pushing 165 at my stature of 5'1", I thought there was no hope. I became depressed, and hated looking at myself in the mirror. My mom always told me that I needed to love me for who I am. It took years for me to begin to love myself. I still have low self esteem, and bad body image, but I am working to make myself become healthier, physically and mentally. I am graduating from high school in just over a month. I was close to 125lbs at the beginning of my senior year, and now I am up to 140lbs, because I haven't focused on being healthy. I find myself looking at the number on the scale and being afraid to go back to how I was my freshman year. I'm sick of not being happy with myself. I won't wear shorts or skirts, because I don't like how I look. I want that to change, and I'm ready for it. Every day I wake up and remind myself that what counts is who I am, not what I look like. I focus on the positive things in my life like my family, friends, and amazing boyfriend. My goal is to become happy with how I look again, be care free like when I was little, and wear shorts and skirts without thinking about how I may look. I know that it may take a while for me to win this battle with body image, but its something that I'm willing to fight for now. I'm going to eat healthier and exercise everyday!

hi, my name is jen and i grew up not worrying much about my weight, but i knew i was very weak in my muscles (not able to do sit-ups in gym, ick). now i am very heavy, and am very self-conscious, but i wanted to join this group because i do fool myself into thinking *sometimes* that it's not the weight but the inside that counts. unfortunately, the weight is keeping me from doing certain things i want to do so it has to go. i've been told i'm a "beautiful person" and i really try to be - kind to others and encouraging. i don't look at anyone but myself so critically. comments welcome and glad to join the team! yours, jen

Hi, I'm quite new to SP and just joined this team. My name is Christine and I'm a 25 year old girl from Germany. It took quite a while for me to get myself together and start fighting this weight. I also want to learn to accept and love my body which is still very hard for me. But I took the first step and one day I want to look into the mirror and not hate what I see.

Hi, I'm *kinda* new to SP. We barely moved into our new home and I've been doing alot of settling in, 3 months worth.

But my name is Patricia, everyone calls me Tricia or Trish. I'm 26 y.o. From Riverside, California in southern California. I am married to an amazing man named Derrick, he's 29. Together we have 3 beautiful children; Eve is 7, MJ is 4 and Ollie is 1.

I've been trying to be on here daily. I don't think I have any SP friends on my page though, but if you message me, I promise to reply. I could always use a friend as well as be a friend :) I hope to meet/message most, if not all of you soon! Thanks!
