Hey, Toni! Not suggesting a live time change. Just an experiment for two to three weeks, to see if you feel better. Then you could add things back, like eggs, then meat etc. like a substitution diet after first eating vegan for a few weeks. If you decide to give it a go, let me know the results!
I'm from East Tennessee, and I love it here, except for the economy. I'm a coffee addict. It does help my ADD and I have loved it since I was a baby. My granddaddy used to let my drink black coffee straight from my bottle when my mom wasn't around to fuss.
Can you imagine how people would freak out now if they heard of someone giving a baby a bottle of coffee?! LOL People...Anyway...
Fibromyalgia isn't supposed to be an inflammatory illness, though I've been discussing on some other boards the cause of having a chronic low-grade fever, which I've had for over a year now. I've been to see specialists over it, but they can't find anything and are saying it's just from seasonal allergies. I'm skeptical because I am noticing that I tend to swell with increased activity, especially in my ankles, which I severely sprained a couple of years ago. Hopefully it's from that and not my organs getting ready to shut down. If I die soon, I'm gonna be really PO'd, and I'm not kidding.
I haven't tried a vegan diet because I'm afraid I'll starve to death. At a minimum, I must have fish and eggs. I have non-diabetic reactive hypoglycemia and eating yummy animals seems to work well for me. I might try it if I get desperate. Nothing is an impossibility at this point. I'll have to look up the anti-inflammatory diet, for sure. Thanks!
Hi, Toni, Welcome! I was just talking to a woman at a soup supper last Friday who said her fibrin got better when she cut out inflammatory foods from her diet. I don't know all the foods that cause inflammation off the top of my head but I know that sugar does and I believe dairy products as well. I hear that caffeine helps ADD symptoms, do you find that's true for you? I hope you can drink coffee black. ; )
Have you tried a vegan diet for a short time to see if that helped?
The menu plan offered by SP is fast and easy to prepare. They also have a shopping list to print out and a calorie counter application. Ya gotta count those calories.
Hi! I'm Toni. I used to eat the Primal Blueprint way, but one of my fibromyalgia meds (Effexor) really jacked me up and caused insane sugar cravings, among other things. Now that I'm no longer taking Effexor the cravings are gone, and I'm ready to start getting my diet back in order.
Planning meals is my biggest challenge because I have ADD. Cooking meals is another challenge because fibromyalgia makes it difficult for me. I tire easily now and my muscles burn like fire, so I'm pretty much useless at the moment. I do better when I keep healthy snacks around that don't require much preparation. My favorite is tuna. I also cook a bunch of eggs at once so I can reheat them. They're actually pretty good that way.
I'm looking forward to joining you all on the boards and learning about each of you. Have a great day!
