Hi, Cinders. Welcome to the team. I try to stay away from anything that has hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial flavors and colors. It's getting harder and harder with some things, though. A lot of foods are adding "natural flavors" which are not really natural. Preservatives in foods that are already preserved by canning (jars included), or freezing. Carrageenan, a substance taken from seaweed, which I read is a pro-inflammatory substance, is being put in everything from icecream to cream cheese. I can't even find plain heavy cream without it in it. There are so many things put in food that a number of years ago were not in our foods. Turkeys and hams are injected with chemicals and, my husband just brought home a roasted CHICKEN from the supermarket that has carrageenan and "natural flavors" in it. I just called up the company, Kroger Foods, and told them I would prefer it if my chicken was made without these substances injected in it.

Hi! I'm new to the concept of clean eating. I'd like to learn more about what "Clean Eating" involves. I'm also diabetic and hope that this program will help me to improve my health.
