How about this version of cheeseburger pie.

1 pound of ground turkey, chicken or bison. I cook mine with mushrooms, onions and seasoning.

Put cooked meat in a casserole pan. Cove with some veggies, I use pea (used to use corn).

Sprinkle low-fat cheese on veggies

Top with homemade mashed potatoes.

I sprinkle more cheese on top.

Put into an oven at 350 until the cheese is melted.

I am sure there are ways to clean this up even more, but who does not love cheeseburger and pie? LOL

Jesus, you could treat him like a child for a while. Hide the veggies in food items he thinks he likes. Don't bother to tell him he is eating a veggie burger. Make pasta sauce that is mostly vegetables. Frozen mixed veggies are excellent filler for meat loaf... If you have a dehydrator, the battle is won.

Sounds like I am not the only one having husband eat clean drama! My husband called me a health nut yesterday. He has been quite grumpy lately. I honestly think he is detoxing from his cheetos, potato chip, double whopper with cheese, french frie, and pepsi addiction!!

Who needs a husband anyway? LOL! My ex's idea of a healthy dinner was only one frozen burrito instead of two.

Thanks for the welcome! I am more than happy to look for and try clean recipes for my hubby...his problem is he sees veggies and decides it is not good without even trying what I have fixed...but he will come around...he doesn't like to cook for himself....lol

Perhaps there are some man pleasing recipes that are clean that you can plan to include in your menus. It's important to eat healthy, but it's also nice to have a happy husband. ;-)

my husband's idea of sustenance for the day is a jug of pepsi, a pack of cigarettes and a chocolate cake

LMAO! My hubbie is the same way! He looks in the cupboards and in the fridge and says, "Where is all the GOOD food? This stuff all looks HEALTHY!"
I tell him the same thing. If he wants to eat CRAP, he's more than welcome to go to the store, but some CRAP, and cook it too!
Welcome to the team!

Hi, I am new to the team and to clean eating. My goal this year was overall health...changing not just my diet, but my family's as well is part of that. After a lot of research I decided Clean Eating was the route for us. I cleaned out all my cabinets last week and restocked this week with fresh fruits, veggies, lean meats etc...the funny thing has been ny kids don't seem to mind so much, my husband is going nuts about it...he is really not happy to not have junk in the house....basicly, my thing is, if I shop and cook, then you eat what I fix...if you want to do your own shopping and cooking then you are free to chose what you want....He will adjust or sneak in what he wants while he is at school...
