Hi Becca!

Welcome! I lost 16 pounds within the first 3 months. It's been about 9 months now and I've lost 40. I couldn't exercise when I first began, but now I'm doing kick-boxing! Eating Clean really makes a difference in how you feel.

Glad you're on the team!

Alena

Yay...I'll have a buddy! OK!

And by the way...is there anywhere on the boards where people post what they eat for the day? Just curious.

Becca, congratulations on your first day! Eating clean works for ALL weights! Yes, you will see results even without weight training although weight training can speed the process. As Tosca says, what you eat is 80% of the equation so get that in order and you will have amazing results! Today is day 2 of eating clean (again) so we can do this together! Best wishes to you!

I'm no expert.. but start your cardio slowly and gradually build up. Make sure you have good shoes and socks on too. The worst thing is to push SOO hard and be hurting so much that you get discouraged. Shin splints hurt! Be sure and stretch first... (and sometimes in the middle too). YOU CAN DO THIS!

Becca, yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!

I am currently reading the Eat-Clean Diet Workout and Tosca Reno goes into a lot about how to do the workout when you are a beginner and when you have a lot to lose.

She says that for those that have a lot to lose that cardio is important and you need to do it 4-5 days a week and weights 2-3 days a week.

I am also heavier than most the women that are really into lifting and body building. I'm doing it to build muscle and get toned. But I need to lose about 50-60 lbs. before my muscles are going to show much.

So please join me. I'm sure there are others with more to lose hiding out here also.

Lifting weights along with cardio and eating clean is how we are going to get the bodies we want.

Nora

I wanted to give a hello to everyone here. I have grocery shopped and am ready to begin clean eating tomorrow (monday). I am excited and nervous all in one...partly because I am heavier than most people here it seems...and also because I have lived a pretty sedentary life for quite a while now.

First Question:
Can this work for someone that is 250 plus?

Second Question:
Will eating clean (with more protein and such) work for weight loss if you've never done strength training in your life?

Third Question:
Can easing into this lifestyle with cardio work...and gradually adding strength training once it becomes habit?

I don't have the book yet...am trying to get my hands on one. What I do know though is that I'm not necessarily looking to be "ripped," I just want to eat healthier and get more exercise. I need all the help I can get!!

Thanks and I look forward to "meeting" you all!
