Hey Fellow Addicts...

I've officially been swept away with the Holiday festivities..and ultimately too tired to turn on the computer to say hey...

Lame, considering how much I love you all so much, eh?

:)

So, here's my Christmas prayer for you all...

May the Lord bless you all with laughter, and hope and joy during this season. May you be humbled and see the love and all the gifts that are in your life.

May you look ahead ever so slightly to 2008 and dream....dream dream....

while gently making plans and stepping small in journey to fullfilling God's plan for you.

:) You've come a long way, baby!

The journey has already begun.

BETTER LIVING THROUGH EATING CLEAN!

Amen! (wink)

Yeah, me too! I am already so over-involved with so many other aspects of my life that I've got to set boundries - but lucky for me, my work (teaching) does not allow me to be on the computer all day, so I'm not "over the edge" yet. Christmas break is coming up though... uh-oh!

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

lol I too am addicted. I've technically been on here for maybe two months now and I found myself just logging on.. reading articles, tallying up my points, rooting when I get 20 for just logging on!!! Moreover, it just feels great, like some of you mentioned, its a "good addiction". But I really do have to minimize my time on here b/c I am procrastinating too much on school work, studying, or cutting into my "family time..." This team, this site.... is amazing... I am so glad my sister found this and told me about it! Much success to you all... Happy Tuesday!

I absolutely CAN'T WAIT to log my daily exercise & strength training, & the look at my weekly progress!! SP is such an awesome site! I can't believe it is free! I am so grateful I found it! I'm also grateful I found Eating Clean!! I sometimes worry my dh thinks I am crazy.....being on spark so much, but he says he thinks it is great! I'm so lucky! emoticon

And, Skinnypup, I've never been blessed with the joy of being the mother to a baby boy! And no hope of me getting to, either!

MaryJane, you have a point with clean eating helping you to keep food in your tummy all the time! Hope you continue to be morning-sickness free!

MJ,

Clean minds think alike :) I did the same thing- got off some fun teams...some tired teams...and some just for kicks teams...

There was just too much distraction.

There's a great article on spark. It's a long one but a super one about eliminating clutter from your life....

Do yourself a favora dn read it if you haven't! http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/wellne
ss_articles.asp?id=733&page=6

I incorporated this way of life right about the time eating clean started kicking in. This was months before I was invited to lead the team...The idea really goes hand in hand with eating clean :)

Less REALLY is MORE.

I can honestly say that the only pleasure I have yet to fullfill is being a role model/parent or part of a little girls life. :) I knew immediatly I was having a boy and named him within a month of being preganant.

:) I smile at the thought that you mahy be having a girl! :) ah the scent of a baby...

Congrats again, my friend! Good times. Enjoy the insatiable appetite. Eat well. Thrive!

I'm only as strong as the coffee I drink and the hair spray I use...

Most definitely! There are a couple of good teams over there but not very many women that really focus on eating clean while they're pg. Of course, sometimes you can't worry about eating clean, you just have to eat whatever you can keep down!! I have been very lucky though and haven't had any morning sickness...so far. The only time I get nauseous is when I let my stomach get too empty, which isn't very often since I eat 5-6x a day. I definitely have to eat a little bit more than usual though...poor, poor me! LOL!

MaryJane, I wondered if you had found the babyfit.com, but I couldn't remember the exact name of the website to suggest it to you! I'm glad we're important enough for you to stay "addicted" to us! LOL!!

SKINNY,
How right you are! I do feel lost when I can't log my food and exercise. It's as if I screwed up and am ashamed to let anyone see what I did! Keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Also, must talk to all the friends most everyday. Living out of one's home country is a bit isolating even though I am busy and not shy! But cultures are different and sometimes it's nice to communicate easily with people who have the same base as me.

So Spark lets me do all of the above! Wonderful, how can we not be addicted to such a great tool?

SKINNYPUP,

Sometimes I swear you are reading my mind with the topics you post. I am definitely addicted and have to take a look at my priorities. I can't give up playing on my laptop altogether but I definitely need to cut back somewhere. I think I'm going to have to pick a couple of teams that are important to me and drop out of the others...especially now that I'm over on www.babyfit.com meeting other August 2008 Mommies-to-be. I also just signed up to be a SP Community Team Member, which I'm really excited about. I think it's so important to be there for new members. Oh, and I'm now co-leader of the Fit & Pregnant team! Yep...definitely need to cut back somewhere! LOL! Thanks for making me realize I'm not the only one!

Oh yes...definitely addicted:) My daughter thinks I'm obsessed! If this addiction helps me stay healthy and active for life then I'm fine with that. I think after the New Year, I'll be supporting some people who will be starting Spark and teaching them all I have learned, in person. If I help even one person turn things around and become healthier than I will be thrilled! Can't wait...

Cheers to our addiction!

I have been on SP so much more since finding this team. Clean eating just "speaks" to me and I think I have finally found my path. This team is so supportive and successful...both of which I need. I am grateful!

I will confess that am an addict as well! I agree that there are far worse things to be addicted to than a health and fitness site. I love how supportive and helpful people on here are and how there is so much information. I could probably stay on here all day learning.

I don't have any friends in *real* life who share my love of health and fitness so it's really nice to connect with others who have similar goals and interests.

I like your new plan of logging on three times a day. Maybe I will try that too!

I hear ya Rhonda. I've been on since 1/07 but since forming teams I've been commited to staying on and being a leader.

There have however, been times this year when I was just broken and not up to the tasks...and my team suffered. That hurt.

Being invited to take over Eating Clean was an eye opener. I was already on the path and I simply could not ignore the calling.

Needless to say, I am grateful for this fabulous and free site. It's a silly addiction but a healthy one that is indeed changing lives on a daily basis.

:) hallelulia to that!!!! !! Cheers to you on your 37th...and good night to all...

I used to be alot worse than I am now, especially when I first started! I'm so busy right now that I'm having a hard time keeping up, but I'm sure I'll be glued to the computer again come January! LOL!!

Oh yeah I'm on SP 24/7 almost! I keep telling myself I need to get stuff done around the house and play with my kids rather than playing on SP! But it is such a wealth of knowledge and I need it everyday!

Thanks for posting this

I thought this forum could use more fun.

Welcome newbies and I apologize for the slow greetings. We see you join, we smile at the thought and we pray and wish for your complete success!!

I am co-leader of the site, and just a regular single mom of one lovely 9 year old. I thrive on fitness, health, faith, optimism, friends, family, hobbies, gratefulness........

I love sparkpeople and now confess I'm addicted to it. there are worse things I guess?!

But, living a well rounded life includes balance. (see wellness post)

I will soon be managing my time better by logging in just 3 times a day. First early when I rise, which is west coast time, then lunchtime and at the end of the day (might be late).

Sigh. I know, it's rough going for me too, but, we'll be fine. This I know. :)

:) Sooooo.... anyone else an addict??
