I can't remember whether I thanked you for your reply. Anyway I agree it takes small steps to start on the journey.

ANIHAKA, there is a saying that goes something like, "the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" - Sounds like you've stepped out firmly - now it's simply one foot in front of the other to continue the journey.... emoticon emoticon

Thank you for your welcome advice. I have truly reduced my intake of food. Yesterday I had 2 boiled eggs & 2 pieces of toast. Before I started eating I figured I'd probably need another piece of toast. But halfway through I found that I had sufficient & was delighted. Before committing myself to goals I had been eating compulsively but now I have that in check. But as I said I have a long way to go but at least I have started & am serious now.

ANIHAKA emoticon to the team. Wish we were a bit more active and passed around those words of wisdom, but I think many of us have been busy with our lives and other teams (at least I hope that is what is going on.) I see that is what was going on in your life until recently...life goes on and so many things distract us from thinking and doing a healthy life style. My words...Keep your Head and Heart in this! If one gets away from you it tends to pull the other down. Don't let "cheating" creep in. Sometimes we find that one or two special treats didn't seem to add pounds so we keep it up and BAM our head is out of the game and then our heart follows by telling us we really miss those things and deserve them. No, we deserve to be healthy! We deserve to be a healthy weight. Personally, I think that a small taste of one thing we love is a good idea. It helps me to think about control and serving sizes. If it is a purchased item that has a serving size I like to cut that into quarter pieces depending on the calorie count. If off the chart high maybe it would be better to find a substitute altogether. Then be sure to track it if it wasn't preplanned or better yet if you can track it first you just might find you really don't want it after all and perhaps a glass of water would help the desire pass.
