Also, there's a lot of "motivational gold" to be found in reading "Ask Coach ToughLove". When we first started Coach Dean had more time to answer questions on that thread. You may find some of your own questions answered there, by going back and reading earlier parts of it.
If not, you can always start your own thread, about a specific motivational issue, to get a discussion going on your toughest challenges.
Make yourself at home and let us know when you need us.
We're here to help whenever you need us. We have monthly challenges, if you like that sort of thing. You can read about them in the challenge forum. If interested, you can start any time, by going to the RIGHT NOW thread and telling us what goals you would like to focus on for now.
My favorite place to make friends on the team is on the CHAT thread.
If there's something we are not doing that you wish we would, let us know.
Congrats on your commitment. Here's to your health.
Hi. I'm Kimberly and I'm new to this team. I started Spark over the holidays but didn't become an active member until I returned home at the beginning of January. Here's to making the commitment to my health!
1. Weigh 148 lbs 12/31/2012
2. Enroll in college by Fall session - Completed
3. Become a Certified Personal Trainer - goal is May 2013
Hey, ANGELIKA, nice to see you! You have done such a great job getting to your goal.
I know you are into clean eating and exercising. Both of those things will help with the "maintaining".
Others on the team who have been successfully staying close to their new weights tell me they have their "hog wild" moments and they find it helpful to say "Oh, well...I'm not too thrilled that I did that, but I'll get back on track and see if I can figure out why I stumbled so that the same thing doesn't keep happening."
You are doing the right things, including keeping your support systems in place.
Hi, my name is Angelika. I am here as a maintainer, more or less.
I started my journey on 1/18/09, started here on Sparks on 2/5/10, and since then I have lost 56 pounds. I now have about 5-8 pounds to lose, mostly because I went a bit hog-wild last month and gained about 5 pounds.
I am finding maintaining is just as much work, if not more, than losing in the first place.
BUT this weight is NOT coming back, that is for sure. I have fibromyalgia, and carrying around that extra weight was not only hell on my joints but it was worsening my other symptoms.
One of goals for 2011 is to join meaningful teams. To that end, here I am. I look for wrd to meeting you!
Blessings and Be Well, Peace, Love and Light to all beings!
