I am a 34 year ole wife and mother and have been HOH pretty much all my life. I have several ear infections as a kid. So many in fact my ear drums ruptured on several different occasions. I also had ear tubes put in 8 times. So needless to say the scarring on my eardrums does not help my hearing at all. I got by most of my life with lip reading and asking people to repeat themselves, but it was getting frustrating!

So fast forward a couple of years....I got my hearing aid (only 1 right now will get 2 in the fall hopefully) almost 4 yrs ago. Wow what a difference. I still can't hear perfectly but conversations are way better now. Even with the aid though I can't hear within the normal range and I do take it off if I want some quiet, lol. I am learning ASL just in case I ever need it,plus I am able to use it at my job occasionally. My dd is learning too and hubby already knows some, but he is slowly learning more with me.

I hope to make a few friends here as we all travel on our own fitness journey's. Thanks for letting me join the group :)
