Wow - I pay $45 for Maggie which is about par in this area. Maggie is a 13 pound mini. That is for the works - wash, cut, nails, anal gland, ears, teeth, etc. I only take her every 5 weeks.
Our groomer has been doing our dogs since about 3 years after we got our first poodle. Our ShihPoo was so bad when at the groomers this was the only person who could work with her. She was a delight otherwise but hated being groomed. When those two died and we got Maggie, we took her to the same groomer as a young pup so she would be used to it early on.

I don't pay anything to have my girls groomed. That would be because I am a groomer. Have been since I was 20. I have been at the same shop for 19 years. We charge $27 for toys and minis and $39 for standards. The sad thing is, you know what they say about the shoe makers children...at the moment I am growing them out from a short clip to a show clip. One will be in the continental and one will be in the english saddle. Lots of work on my part but I want to have my photo taken with them and those are my favorite clips. I wish I knew how to put a photo on the computer and post so you all could see my girls. They are so darn cute. But then they are poodles they just can't help it.

Lady is a standard and she goes up to petsmart. I've had her done by several folks and have settled on the most reliable and consistent lady there. They charge between $50 and $60 for a full groom. I tend to tip 5 or 6 dollars which is low for me but I've also had some issues with getting consistent service. She usually gets a puppy cut with long ears and pom on her head and tail.
Wow truffle I don't know why it just sunk in that you are in Canada! LOL (duh Mary). Your poodles always look great in the pictures. she does a good job on them. Yes I like to keep April's face shaved too.

I take mine to a lady who grooms from her home. She is training for her all breeds master groomer designation, but she does not have it yet. She charges me $45 Cdn for each dog, and does a beautiful job--a really nice modified lamb clip. I go between groomings for face/tail/feet shaves, and pay $10 per dog. I used to pay $75 per dog at another lady's house just for the main grooming, and she did them short all over.

The groomer we go to is in a local pet supply shop. They charge us 60 rand for a complete grooming. That equals out to about 9 dollars. That includes bows, she always looks so lovely when she is all done.

I was just wondering how everyone likes their groomer. And also thought it might be interesting to see what they charge. I'm sure it would be different for a standard as opposed to a toy. I pay $25 dollars for each of my 2 toys. Then I alway tip her and extra $10 for the two. She does a really good job and always puts a colorful bandana around their neck.
