I've found my engagement ring to be a great motivator also! When you've been overweight most of your life, it's amazing to start seeing results:) emoticon

Thanks! I have my dream dress on our refrigerator. Since our kitchen is in the heart of our house. I have to look at it a lot. It seems to help but regardless I have to do this for me.

Again Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome! I know how you feel. I, too, have been overweight since elementary. Have you tried the "Walk Away The Pounds" series? They're really quite simple. I really enjoy them. I also tend to loose motivation. I found doing the motivation "activites" found here help. I have a picture of a dress I want to wear at my renewal on my computer.

My hubby also doesn't like vegies and eating healthy in general. But once I started making some of the recipies on here, he started eating healthy without even knowing it and I got him to start liking mushrooms! With men, it's baby steps. Trust me, he may not need to loose weight, but eating healthy benefits everyone.

Any way, congrats on your engagement. Don't be afraid to drop me a line or post something if you need any advice, suggestions, or thoughts about your planning.

Well nothing has worked as a lose weight motivator like my engagement ring. So here I am trying to lose weight again. This time I'm going for help. A little about me and my weight loss efforts.

Well first I am Meghan. I am 26 and just got engaged last week to a wonderful man named Michael. I have been heavy since elementary school and finally know that this is not the life I want to live. I am currently at my heaviest weight and after one stint of dress shopping know that I will be miserable if I don't take off some of the pounds.

Even though I was heavy I was always an active child, playing many sports and always outside with my brothers. It wasn't until I was 16 and had knee surgery that the pounds packed out and wouldn't leave. I can't do anything high impact and feel less motivated since I can't have the support of others at the gym.

Now it's just trying to find the balance between life and goals. Michael doesn't need to lose any weight and hates vegetables so it can be hard to cook healthy meals that we will both eat.

Okay I'll pause the book I just wrote and say that I look forward to getting to know all of you!
