Welcome to this team. One of the things that I liked when I first started was the "food finds" thread in the discussion.
Avoid the packaged food. Healthy Choice foods and other like it are loaded with sodium. I've learned to create my own frozen foods - making a big batch on the weekend and freezing for lunches. Search the sparkrecipes and enter "low sodium" in the keyword search and you'll get lots of great ideas.
Welcome to the team. I understand your problems with salt intake. It's hard to avoid it. From what I've learned you need to stay away from processed foods and resturants (especially fast food stores). The easiest place to control your sodium is from the salt shaker. Don't use it! Good luck with your journey to a healthier you.
Hello. I am new to this team and even though I started a profile on Sparkpeople less a year ago, I hadn't done anything with it until a week ago. I recently found out that I have high blood pressure and was put on medication. I am having a horrible time keeping my salt intake down. I understand dieting and eating fewer calories and such, but lowering the salt intake is all new to me. I am just starting to learn just how much salt is in the foods that I have been eating. I am hoping that by being a part of this team I will become more educated and learn how to keep my salt intake under control.
