Hi all, I am 51, soon to be 52. I am a severe asthmatic and have been all my life. I have more allergies than years on me. I am on 3 inhalers daily, theophylline, singulair, loratadine, nasonex, albuterol inhalers and nebs, duo nebs, combivent inhaler and ventolin. I have high calcium and low vitamin D. I have to take potassium prescriptions every day and I have arthritis in my lower back and knees. People tell me often that know me quite well that I should just live in a bubble. I make too many trips to the ER in a year. I recently had an anaphalactic reaction to penicillin while in the ER. I want to get back on track and lose weight. I know that I can do it and that it is going to take a long time, but I am ready. I have cut out all but one diet soda a week. (12 ounces) and I also have 1 candy bar a week. I have my soda and candy bar on Thursdays. Seems like I have established one "free" day a week as of late. I have joined a wellness spa and am doing some working out at home and walk 3 miles a day with my husband. We do 3 one mile walks. On the days when it is to rainy or the temps are just way too cold, I do extra work on the exercise bike and elliptical. I have started to do planks and squats. At the health spa, I do 30 minutes in the infrared, dry heat sauna, 20 minutes on LED light therapy, 30 minutes of work out and then 20 minutes on the bio mat. I am hoping that I will be able to keep on losing weight. I had lost 52 pounds in 19 months and then sort of fell off the wagon. It is hard to get back on the wagon, but I have been back on it for 3 weeks now and have lost 6.3 pounds. That would be me in a nutshell!
