That is the single most important thing you could have done for your health!
I found that carefully tracking every single thing I eat and making sure I commit to regular exercise helped me to lose the weight. But I love exercise, so that wasn't my problem. The Nutrition Tracker helps keep me honest with my food and was a real eye opener to how many calories I was getting even though it seemed mostly healthy and not a huge amount.
To make exercise interesting and wanting to keep doing it, the key is to actually find something you ENJOY doing. I discovered I loved fitness classes. The pounding music and instructors encouragement was the boost I needed to move it. Hate sweating it out in a gym? Join the party -the latest fitness craze, Zumba, is more like dancing to the music then exercise. Find active things to do. Take up bowling. Explore your national parks. Who knows, maybe you will discover you like being outdoors and hiking. There are lots of activities out there to explore. Never say never. You don't know why might attract your fancy until you actually try it. I loved playing paintball for example, a real adrenaline rush (had to give it up due to bad knees though). Take a good look around. Your city's liesure guide is a great place to start. Find your inner athlete!

My name is Beth. I'm 44 and I let my weight get away from me. I quit smoking last yearis like and gain an extra 25 pounds. I was already 20 pounds over weight but I wasnt going to notice that. Now I'm unhappy and depressed and Ive decided to attack this head on. I know I need help and I need someone to keep me honest about the exersice. I tend to start strong and get board later and so far no change. That also discourages me but I have a cruise comming up in november for my bday and I'm hoping that will keep me going!!
