I have been allergic to fruit for 37 years. Citrus is the worst, bananas make me hoarse, apples intestinal issues, I have no trouble with berries. I have found if you cook the fruit it eliminates the problem. I bake apples with a bit of cinnamon and sweetner, I make bananas into light muffins, I eat canned pears and applesauce. I can eat citrus like lemon if it is cooked, not applied afterwards. I hear on Dr. Oz if you are allergic to apples microwave it about 30 seconds first. Just some ideas to try.

Hi, My name is Ivy and I am allergic to most fruits and have allergies to a few veggies as well. I find it so limiting because I love fruits and used to eat all of them but then one day I noticed that when i ate an apple, it caused my throat to scratch and I started coughing and then started to lose my voice and couldn't speak above a whisper...I didn't think much of it and continued to eat them until it got really bad and I kept coughing a lot and felt like my throat may close....that was the start of my fruit allergies...since then, the list is endless and the only fruits i can safely eat are blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and grapefruits, sometimes bananas, although they scratch my throat now as well...As for veggies, Carrots, Tomatoes and Avocados....I'm always a little nervous about trying a different fruit or veggie because I'm not sure that I'm going to cause an allergic reaction...is there anyone out there who is as miserable as I am with countless allergies....I also have seasonal allergies as well, which really sucks...I'd love to hear how you are managing to cope with the limitations
