Well if there is any better way to fight leukemia I can't think of it. Attitude, Chemo, Nutrition and friends..thats what you need most.
There have been times in my fight with all these autoimmune/systemic disorders that I just thought I couldnt fight any more. But good nutrition, love and humor always pull me through. Azlady2, I think that thread you have in your brain is great...I've been thinking the same thing.
Deeann8, I love cooking! And problem solving. I love sharing recipes. Oh, I got a great cauliflour curry recipe that I made yesterday....mmmmm spicy!

Hi!

Welcome to the team!

It's great to see another member who wants to follow a McDougall/Ornish WOE. (Way of Eating)

I understand about needing super-easy meals when our bodies don't co-operate. I have a thread percolating in my brain of ideas for just those times. I've lived with the effects of a nasty car accident for 17+ years, and was just diagnosed with leukemia.

Please, feel free to jump right in!

Flo

Sounds like you've really done a lot with the whole foods. I may be looking to you for advice, etc. I espeically need help with how to season foods so they're not so bland. I like things a bit spciy, but hubby doesn't.

I love the whole mediterranian diet and foods. When I make Mousakka it's with Dixie Diner dehydrated Beef Not. I absolutely love stuffed grape leaves with brown rice, garbonzo beans and golden raisins. So many things to make with complete protien and whole ingredients!
Thank you both for the welcome :)

Congrats and welcome to the team. I'm new to trying to eat meatless -- I don't plan to give up meat entirely (would be too much of a hassle w/my family) -- so I'm TRYing to do more of a mediterranean eating style.

I have looked around the McDougall web site and like what I see. I was thinking about getting their new DVD.

emoticon Congrats on the 9.5 pound loss! I don't do gluten free but I am a vegetarian soon to be vegan. I think there are other Mcdougallers here too.

Hi,
I feel like I'm new because I only logged in a few times months ago. I guess I just wasn't ready then.
I've been very involved this time around and lost 9.5 lbs in the past week and a half. I'm also a Michigander, following a Gluten free, vegetarian (Ornish/McDougall)low fat plan. I use Amy's GF frozen foods when I'm too tired or in too much pain to cook. I have numerous auto-immune diseases, and a sick hubby, so I just do what I can, when I can...and not beat myself up.
I was wondering if there are any other gluten free vegetarians here?
Thanks,
