Hi Rheyn,

I have cut out all soda consumption due to my diabetes and have drastically cut back on white sugar. I sauté or grill both veggies and meats as opposed to deep frying which is a caloric fiasco. I'm walking about a half hour a day which is pretty much a limit for me as I experience heightened pain when exercising due to the three car accidents I've been through. This year I've added more plant based foods to my diet, especially fresh produce. Wish me luck as I attempt to knock off the weight a bit at a time despite the handful of maintenance medications I take which cause weight gain. Thanks for writing! emoticon

Greeting to everyone on the Whole Foods for Health forum. My name is Lisa and I am back with SparkPeople with the goal of finally losing the weight I have gained and reversing the diabetes that consequently developed. Thankfully I have lost 20 pounds so far this year, ten of them with SparkPeople. I am joining Spark Teams which I believe will help me live better and enjoy improved overall health.. I would love to learn from all of you as I have a general idea about what constitutes good nutrition but not a whole lot about specifics. I'm interested in becoming a Flexitarian and have joined that forum as well. Please holler back; I'd love to hear from Ya'all. (I'm a transplant from New York to North Carolina). Have a great day!
