Welcome. Whole foods are key, not just for helping with diabetes but for helping with cardio vascular and cardio pulmonary disease, cancers, and for improving your overall health. The more processed something is, the things that are in it that can be harmful for you.
This is a great start and I wish you much success on your endeavors. If you have an online link to that FORBES article, please post it (or at least post the date and title of the article). I think it would be helpful to all of us here.

Hello. My name is Daniel and I was recently diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes. I was told about 8 months ago I was borderline and I changed up my eating and exercising but it wasn't enough. Doctor said to concentrate on the diet and exercise if I ever plan to get off the new meds I am now taking. Hoping to get to know all of you soon. I read online that eating whole foods is one of the main keys to controlling diabetes. I am new to the team but have been on SP since March 2007. Any advice on foods would be great. I was reading a FORBES article on food this morning and realized that MOM had the best idea. She always cooked the food and never used prepackaged. I am thinking that is what whole food means. Any advice is welcomed.
