Hi Everyone, My life has been pretty chaotic for the last 2 years but now things are beginning to fall into place and I want to start focusing on health goals. I have about 20 pounds to lose and I have a history of yo-yo dieting/binge eating that I'm trying to overcome. I don't want to do any more "diets" but eat whole natural foods and live a life where I'm not turning to junk food to ease stress.
So as of tomorrow I'm committing myself to getting the most out of SparkPeople (I joined a year ago but never used it) and I am impressed by all the tools and support available here. This is exactly what I need - the tools to help myself get healthy.
One of my biggest challenges these past 2 years has been to remain vegan. I was a vegetarian prior to that but started to do research and was horrified by the health risks of eating dairy and eggs that the conditions of the animals expose me to. So I decided I wanted to go vegan. I've been off and on for the last 2 years but I really want to stay on it this time as I do think it's the best way to eat for me.
Sorry for the long intro! I'm hoping to get some support here and also some insights and ideas.
