I couldn't believe there is a team for border collies!! I love them!! I think it's a God-thing that I decided to go on the Animal Lovers site today; though I joined the team when I first started I hardly go there. But now I will be back here more & more! I don't have one right now; I did in 2006. Her name was Tess. I don't know if she was a mix or not - she had a brown spot next to her eyes. She was a gracious lady, always loving me. She got sick in Nov. of that year and passed on. She was a great companion. Thanks for being here. - Diane -
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest." (MSG, Matt.11:28)
Welcome to the team!! My fur-baby just turned 8 and absolutely loves the water too! Doesn't matter if its muddy or not. I'm glad to hear your Angel is doing so much better. It's scary when they get sick.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.

I'm celebrating my NINTH anniversary with SparkPeople in the June 3-9, 2007 class.
Hi I'm new to this team and I love my border collie. She is ten years old going on 11 in August and unfortunately she has both Lyme disease and Addisons and was on antibiotics for the Lyme but now just needs a shot every month for the Addisons. So it has been a rough road. The shot unfortunately has side effects like frequent urination which has me cleaning up accidents sometimes in the middle of the night or being woken up by a wimpering dog in the middle of the night but she is doing better now. Two night sleeping through the night with no accidents and she is starting to eat better now that we are giving her wet food instead of just dry. I love my fur baby so much and am hoping that she is with us for many more years. By the way her name is Angel or Swamp Angel which my husband calls her because if there is a muddy puddle for her to lie in she will lie in it.
My first day here on Spark People and had to say my jaw dropped when I saw there is a Border Collie lover group : o) I had three (my old boy passed away a year ago the end of March - hardest thing I've ever been through as he was my soul mate.) I still have two - I have Hayley an Australian Red (which I've also heard called cream or lemon) and Quinn a red tri. Hayley is almost 7 and Quinn is just over a year. I train in agility, rally and canine musical freestyle. However the last couple of years I haven't been very active with it as I'm so ashamed of my looks due to my weight (325 lbs). Really hoping stumbling on to Spark People will give me what I need to keep motivated to lose the weight and get active again with my dogs. Yesterday was my 59th birthday, by this time next year I hope to have lost 150 lbs. Looking forward to hearing from other Border Collie lovers!

Dancing with your feet is one thing, dancing with heart is another, but dancing with your dog is something else!!
