Hey,
I haven't checked in with this team in a while. Amazing that we have been with the team more than 6 1/2 years!

My husband has restarted his weight loss program and I need to lose the 10lbs I gained since returning to work a year ago.

Time to get back on track.

Hi!

I had dropped this team as there was no action for so long.
I had to join again in order to post a reply to you.

How are things with you?

Trying to restart. I seem a little lost and lazy and not very motivated but I don't like weighing 210. Gotta get going again.

Good idea! No time like spring for a fresh start. Good luck with the tracking. I do really well maintaining with fitness alone, but sure need that food tracking to lose anything. Otherwise, I underestimate how much I eat.

Despite a steady gain all week, I pulled of a maintain this morning. I'm hoping for a slight drop for tomorrow's weigh-in, but if not, a maintain is better than a gain. I think it was water retention in my muscles as I have recently stepped up my cardio minutes, and begun to lift weights again. I think they've evened themselves out now, though, so I hope to lose again next week.

I'm back.....doing yoga several times a week and walking. I need to start my weight training again and begin to cut down on the carbs/sugar and start tracking food again. Sounds like I need to spring clean myself!

Hi! I am on board! I just starting counting calories again last week, and I am down a pound and a half already. Counting calories works. Darn, I can't eat like I am a 250 pound man anymore. :P I commit to keep on doing what I am doing, and I will reach my goal weight by July. Wish me luck!

Hello Sparkmates! Like all of you I joined in July 07, worked on losing weight for about a year then stopped and gained back what I had lost here. However, I had lost some before joining so I am not starting at my heaviest weight of 275 (Thank God!). I recommitted on 8/9/10 (I love that date!) and have lost 9lbs. I am 59yrs old and 5'5", so you can see from my ticker I really need to lose weight and from my age that it's going to be slow going. I have made myself two promises this go around. 1) I will not spend any more money trying to lose weight (WW, Nutrisystem, Gym, Personal Trainer, etc.) and 2) I will try to be more at peace with myself, my diet and everything around me.

Using the SparkPeople tools in combination with sheer determination, I got down to 170 pounds and had been able to maintain for nearly two years.

However, recently, I have been lax and the numbers on the scales have crept back up.

I have started anew.

Let's GET, GET, GET IT!!!!

Just checking in with my old classmates here.. I initially was doing well with Sparking, and lost around 20 pounds. But then, I just kept feeling worse and worse.. and long story made short, ended up having major surgery in July and had major gall bladder & adhesion issues, with gangrene to boot! NO WONDER I was feeling more and more run down and ill. Unfortunately NONE of it showed up on any medical test and the surgeon didn't discover the mess until he got in there. So, lucky me.. My same day surgery turned into a four day hospital stay. I've been getting better and my NEW doctor has been good for helping get me going again. I've renewed my commitment to the process of getting healthy and losing weight. I've been eating well & tracking it for about two weeks, and have been exercising regularly for the past week. If I can keep going even after my boredom with the program sets in, I'll have it licked! I've GOT to get over it and just be content with what I'm SUPPOSED to eat and not yearn for whatever I want to eat. IN any case, glad to see others are renewing their commitment too.

"Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." -Psalm 37:5-6

It is so good to see everyone returning. I too fell off the wagon after losing around 25 pounds on Spark. I have gained about 10-12 pounds back and it really makes me sick. I am so mad at myself! I have been working out HARD for about 2 weeks now. I'm not seeing a loss much yet, but that's probably because I haven't adjusted my calories very well. That is probably my worst problem. When I was really losing well I was tracking like crazy, then I got lazy. That is the main thing I need to focus on TRACKING.

Here we go guys!

I found Sparks on a web search. When I tried to sign up I found I already had an acct. Apparently I signed up in July 2007 and must have never gone back. Too bad, because if I had I would be at the weight I want to be instead of heavier than when I originally signed up.

Anyway I am ready to recommit. I started 5 days ago and I have lost a little over 3 pounds. I know that is good for 5 days and I do not expect to keep losing at that rate, though it would be nice.

I got a Wii fit for Christmas, I really enjoy it and the Wii Sports. It is not boring and it gets you moving.

I have not been too invested in Spark lately. Need to get back at it. Since a move this past year I have gained about 10 pounds, which put me back to where I started. My plan is to re-establish working out, which is something I sorely miss since my move. I am doing that next week after my visiting children go back home.

Hello Everyone!

When I first started SP helped me to lose 27 lbs before my wedding. I planned to continue to lose until I made my goal. I found out right after my honeymoon that I was pregnant with my second child. I was diagnosed with GD and gained a whooping 34 lbs during my pregnancy. I have lost 40 lbs and my duaghter is 7 months old. I have a little way to go and am excited to recommit with those I began this journey with.

emoticon Hi Gang! Thanks for sharing! You can do it. I have been working on my lifestyle since July 2007 and I am about 1/2 way to my goal. WOO HOO!

To be honest, I just used SP for the daily emails, I signed up for a bunch of them. It was working for me to get the reminder. I was not setting break neck speed for the first year, just between .5-2 pound a month. Actually, I was really pleased to see the scale move down a bit. I lost 8 pounds while on a cruise vacation in the spring of 08 and that really motivated me to work harder.

Been on a plateau for several months but losing inches, no weight. Decided to start using the support tools more fully and am keeping the food journal, doing the strength training that SP gives me and leaning on my SP teams (hypothyroid, thyroid and 100+ have been my crutches)

Glad to see this team come out of hibernation! All the best!

Tracy

Hello Team, I am 52 years old 6 foot 2 inches tall and am back to my starting weight with sparks i have had many many health issues this past year and half and still not well but i am trying and at times confused on what to eat or not eat for my conditions. Last friday i was told that my kidneys are not doing to well and got put on quite a bit of medication. I am diabetic, have 4 smashed disc in my lower back 3 herniated in my neck and have either broken both feet or my tibia bone in my leg aprox 6 times over the last year and half. I try to keep with the lifestyle of carb to protien exchange to keep my sugars in control. One of the things i must learn is to take care of myself verse giving all my time to others and forgetting about me something i have never done in my life but i am learning that i am worth it and that i can make time for me. So my goals are to learn to take time for me, to eat at the least 3 meals a day not the one or two that i have been doing and to eat healthy snacks, use my new eliptical and go to the pool for exercise.

Hello, I am Deb. I have been active on Spark but with another team which is smaller. I had lost 45 pounds, then I gained some of it back. There was a couple of months that I could not get online as often as I needed and that is when I started gaining some weight back. I also had some personal stuff come up. But I have always tried to stay in touch at least once a week.

I realize that Spark is very important to my weight loss success. I know that God led me to this site and I will not take that for granted,, and it's free. This year is my year to reach my goal.

I am working on losing 50 pounds. I really don't know how much i weigh at this time because my scale is messing up on me; one day it says something and the next it reads as if I gained 5 pounds overnight. So maybe it needs a battery. I go to the doctor tomorrow and I will go by what their scale says minus five pounds. That is the difference it reads from my scale at home.

I hate the scale anyway. emoticon I think it is best to go by how you feel, how your clothes fit or how toned your body looks.

I have written so much, but right now I need to remember my goals because people around you will forget that respect is a mutual thing. I will not elaborate. emoticon I just needed to talk about something positive at this very moment. Thanks for listening and I will check in every day I log in.

Also, that New You Boot Camp is pretty cool. I joined that for this month to see if my progress could become faster. I am ready to get rid of this heavy load. I just knew that I would be at my goal weight by now. I may change that because some people look better at a higher weight than others.

Ok, I'll save something to talk about next time. emoticon

Hello to everyone
I started about 1 yr ago and I have had my ups and downs. But if I fall down I try to get right back up on that horse that knocked me down. I have been gaining and losing the same 10-15 lbs for the past year and I am ready for it to be gone for ever. I started a p90x program and it is rough but those lbs need to go away forever.

Hello everyone!

It's time for those of us who have kind of slacked in our efforts to recommit to our goals, and for those of who have been successful to share with others their success and how they got there.

Please take the time to reintroduce yourself to the team. Let us know how you are doing, what you would like to get from this team, and what we can do to help each other.

I look forward to hearing from each of you!

WE CAN DO THIS!

Trying to get back on track after the worst year that I can remember.
