Thanks to everyone for the welcomes! I am so happy to be here. My boyfriend has two kids, an 11 year old girl who will eat just about everything (She just learned about nutrition in school and she's been very excited about eating all of the new healthy meals I've made, which makes me so happy) and an 8 year old boy.....if he had his way we would eat nothing but corn dogs and tacos. Luckily, he is starting to TRY some new things. He has developed a love for pork chops which is good. I am hoping that trying new things will open his eyes a little bit....but he's still young.

Hi Amy... nice to meet you. I always loved to cook and was always battling the scales since I was a kid. Loving to cook and becoming a wife and Mom, I spent alot of great time in the kitchen. It wasn't until I had a real epiphany about health that I realized I could satisfy my love of cooking and embracing a healthy eating pattern. I changed my mindset, my food choices, cooking choices about two years ago and have lost over 100 lbs. I am now normal in size and feel great. This is a great resource to create wonderful healthy foods that satisfy hunger, taste and creativity in the kitchen! Welcome aboard!

Hi everyone! My name is Amy and I live in Maine. Cooking was always something I refused to do.....in fact I once told someone that I "refused to let society make me cook just because I was a woman". I don't know if I believed it when I said it, but I said it anyway. Not too long after I fell in love with an amazing man.....and I became someone I never knew existed....someone who loves to take care of others. Cooking for my family is quickly becoming a passion of mine.....especially since the picky eaters I live with (along with some other factors) have caused me to gain about 20 pounds. I joined this site two weeks ago and have already tried about 10 of the recipes on here. :) I'm always looking for new, healthy food ideas and motivation! I'm looking forward to us all doing this together!
