I tried doing Dr. Furhman's Eat to Live, plant based diet, but decided it just wasn't for me. It's not because I don't love vegetables, I do! The majority of the food on my plate is from vegetables. I just have no energy when I give up meat. The last blood test I had while on that plan showed I was low in iron, and B12 which explained why I had no energy. I do eat beans, and whole grains also. When I went off that program and started eating seafood, beef, and chicken again, my energy improved dramatically. I am currently following Dr. Jonny Bowden's "unleash your thin" program. It emphasizes whole, organic (when possible) foods. The beef should come from grass-fed cows, and seafood wild-caught, along with chicken fed with non-gmo feed, and no antibiotics or hormones. I've been on this healthy eating plan for a little over 6 months now, and really notice a difference. My food cravings are gone, and I have tons of energy! I've lost 53 pounds, and have about 25 left to go. Most importantly, I've finally found a program that I no longer consider a diet, but a way of life. I love eating real food, and look forward to being part of this team !
My name is Jennifer. I am new to the team. I am trying to lose about 40 pounds. I have been successful in the past dropping weight, but it seems to be coming back on so I am making another attempt to keep it in check. The rule in my house about food goes like this: If you cannot pronounce it or better yet don't know what it is - don't eat it. I have switched the habits in my house from junk food junkies to no frozen entrees, chips, and wonder-food. It is amazing how making the switch can make you feel so good.
