Yes, I am still abroad and probably will be for the foreseeable future. I live in France where indeed, I see many of the food pitfalls that America is so well-known for creeping into the daily lives of the French. However, there is a huge culinary history here based on seasonal eating and real food. ...Really rich food! Which is perhaps one reason that I've slowly put on weight since my move here.
I know that I already eat healthy foods and I love to cook. My goals this month are to learn to practice moderation, control portions and to track what I eat. Also, I'm trying to exercise more. I walk and bike everywhere already, just need to get back into strength training and get sweaty!

Well you are on the right track with your eating habits. I personally track my food, eat healthy fresh foods and avoid fast foods, sodas, etc. I had lots of weight to lose and I am doing it slowly, just like it came on my bode. Have a great journey and we are all here for you.

Are you still abroad? We've been seeing a lot on the news lately that the US diet is becoming more and more entrenched in more and more countries, along with all the health problems.
So good luck with your goals. Work for health. The pounds will go. My chiropractor told me about coconut oil today as a pantry companion for olive oil. I've been doing research and what I've seen is supporting his comment that it would figure as a major oil in the next 5 years. I hope that's right because it seems it can be very beneficial for weight loss AND health.
hi jessica :) welcome to the team!! i honestly think there really isn't any other way to get healthy than to eat clean foods so i wish you all the best on your journey!! a book i love to recommend is the eat-clean diet recharged by tosca reno. it has a lot of wonderful info :) def a must read if your new to this kind of eating. i'm not really where i want to be with this but i'm getting there. good luck to you and i'm if you ever need.
