I am so totally in agreement with you. I stay away from most all packaged things. I too question anything that claims "diet", "low" or "non-fat", or any health/weight loss claim at all. Those are just marketing come-ons and not about health OR losing weight. My personal fight with extra pounds comes from just eating too much, not eating junk. I just love to eat and I love to eat fresh, whole, natural things...and...sigh...bread. Grains, especially after one reaches middle age, are a real killer for our figures...gulp!
Keep eating real food and just keep a loose eye on how much is on your plate...and how many times you reach for...
Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
Hi I'm Frannie from Astoria, OR. I'm a country girl who loves to cook just about everything from scratch. I get hung up on most diet programs b/c I don't do well with anything packages or the low-fat this and no-sugar that. That always makes me wonder..."what are they doing to make it low fat and no-sugar...it still tastes sweet, what's in it...who's messing with my food?" Anyway, My solution has been to quit diets in the past and stick with real stuff. But, my weight never changes. So, no I'm here at SP and looking for advice, new recipes, insight and friends with the same goals. Hope to learn bunches here
