I've been a member of SP for 2 years. I have been a member of the Clean Eating Team for almost that long. I sometimes get frustrated with the team's focus on weight loss which turns whole eggs into egg whites and whole dairy products into non-fat products and encourages people to watch calories just a bit more than watching the quality of food. The Clean Eating Team is based on Tosca Reno's Clean Eating diet plan which has some really great ideas for getting people off junky, empty, toxic foods and into more healthy choices. Still, there's this fear of calories and fat that has always bugged me and sometimes Tosca's recommendations aren't even that healthy.
I will stay on that team because there are just too members there that I am really fond of and love to chat with. I just need something different so I thought I'd give this team a try.
I have always, since a child, been aware and interested in whole, real foods. I don't eat junk, don't eat at fast food restaurants, eat local and fresh.
I'm looking forward to gabbing with you guys and getting some support in my own weight loss journey which isn't about eating the wrong foods but more about eating too much food period!
Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
