Hello team! I have returned to SP to loose 10 lbs. that I never should have gained, if I had kept up with honest tracking and better choices. I has been really stubborn as I am also turning 50 and possibly at that age where everything goes crazy with my body.

Anyway, I think this is the team for me, so here goes. emoticon

Hello again! I am a lapsed member of this team.
I finally feel that losing this 10 pounds is something I can accomplish. I was caught in such a spiral for the last year or so but now it seems as if my life has settled down and I can focus on myself.
My two children are both in college as of last week and I had an amazing week of focusing on ME! I exercised everyday before work and took care of myself. I do have a husband but he has seemed to sense that I need to make myself a priority at this time.
My weigh in, change my tracker day is Tuesday and I am hoping for a big number. I have been following the Digest Diet, by the editor of Reader's Digest. I have found it wonderful!
Looking forward to meeting you all and sharing!

Hello All,
I actually have 11 pounds left to lose this time, but I figured this would be a good place for encouragement! I was on Spark People from 2006-2009, and met my goals. Then life got in the way & I got sick (Lyme disease, sinus surgery from horrible headaches, then stomach problems from the headache meds). So now I'm back again! I am reading Jillian Michaels' new book & she mentions that the last 10 "vanity" pounds are tougher to lose & I can attest to that! But I will keep at it! My goal is to get to 121 pounds by Sep 6th, the first day of my hubby's vacation (then NOT to gain on that vacation!).
Can't wait to interact with you all!
Blessings, Anita

Hi ladies!

I'm happy to have come across this board. I am totally struggling right now. I cannot seem to shake off these last pounds and it's driving me crazy. I joined a weight loss competition at a local fitness center. It started almost 5 weeks ago and I'm only down 2.5 lbs! It's so frustrating.

What stinks is I have my "monthly friend" at the moment so not only do I feel heavier and bloated, but the scale is not nice to me. I'm really hoping I've lost more than what the scale said yesterday because I'm feeling a bit down.

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Hello Sudnya

Nice to meet you. I am in a similar position to you - I have lost 30lbs and have 9lbs to go and they are proving quite stubborn! Have been on a plateau for several months now.

Perhaps we can share some tips!

Hello!
I have been watching what I eat, running and changing my lifestyle to be healthier everyday for a few years now. I managed to lose about 30 lbs in almost 30 months. This has been quite a ride with sometimes losing 1lb/week & then hitting plateaus and then at times gaining back some pounds ~_~
I am now at a weight that I once thought would be impossible, but I still have ~7lbs to lose before I reach by 'dream weight'. I have been at this for a while. I work out for 3-4 times a week, hike on weekends, eat almost 80% of my meals at home - but have hit a plateau for over two months now (maybe it is the winter!) :-( I'm hoping to get insights & motivation from all the members in this community who are sailing in the same boat as me.

Hi, everyone!

I lost 15 pounds several years ago, then maintained it well using Sparkpeople. But I got married last summer and am now rehabing a complicated house, along with the drama of teenaged children. Weight has crept up to 128-130, sending off alarms. Getting my weight down now is a huge priority. I'm committing to check in with SP several times a day to monitor and be part of the community.

Hello all,
I originally lost 20 pounds on sparkpeople a few years ago and was successful at keeping it off. Then last year between March and September, both my mother-in-law and mother got sick and passed away unexpectedly. It was very hard to get back into a routine but with the new year, it's time to start getting fit and eating healthy. I hope to give and get support to get those 10 pounds off that crept on.

Hi everyone, I'm Emma and I've been on and off SP for the past 4 years. Each time that I've been on SP, I've lost the weight and gotten healthy. This past year, I've gained about 15 pounds due to a lifestyle change and stressful move. I've gotten back on SP in a serious way since the end of October. I'm tracking my calories every day, and committed to exercising 3 times a week, a combination of spinning, running outside, and aerobics.

I lost 6 pounds the first week (very strange), but since then, the last 10 pounds has not been coming off. I'm struggling to eat within my calorie range of 1200-1550. I'm trying to figure out different ways to motivate myself. My first personal challenge was to be in range 5 days in a row. I succeeded in 5 out of 7 days. I now want to try 5 days in a row, followed by 7, followed by 10. After each of these successes, I want to give myself a small gift to encourage myself to continue. I was doing pretty well before Christmas, but this Christmas week has been a bust. Wish me luck!

Hi, I put on 62 lbs between stopping smoking and my twin pregnancy. Over the past 10 months I have lost 54 lbs, quite consistently. I have got back into my running and managed a 5km race and 10km race in 2012. I am now running 14km in 85 minutes! I am so happy - ecstatic as I have never been so fit. I also do aerobics once a week and one other shorter run and at home I do pilates/yoga/callanetics and some exercise with hand weights and I also have a cross trainer. I still want to loose around 9lbs but my weight has stuck for 3 weeks in a row. I have had a week off the dieting for Christmas and halved the fitness. I am thinking as I am exercising a lot and running I may be eating too few calories for weight loss - 1440 per day. When I run my 14km I burn 950 calories! So I will try and increase it to 1600 calories per day and see if it gets the weight off. I will keep trying even if it is a slow loss! Looking forward to getting back into it and get to my goal in 2013!

Hello everyone. My name is Suzanne and I have gained 5 pounds for each of the last 3 winters. This spring I was able to get about 8 off, but have been stuck with 7 pounds to go. I am soooo scared to gain any back over the Holiday, but I know they are hard for me. When the weather is cold all I want to do is curl up under a blanket with a hot chocolate. I'd like to lose the last 7 lbs, but am OK if I could stay even through the Holidays and start back up in January. BUT if I lost some this winter that would be awesome!

I'm hoping this group will help encourage me to eat well and work out through the winter.

I currently work out for about an hour 6 days a week and try to stay under 1500 cals, but it's been hard.

Hello! I've 12 lbs left to lose now but hope you won't mind me joining the team! emoticon

I have been on SP for over 5 years, and have lost and regained during that time. HOWEVER this time I am determined not to regain. I have a loss of 28 lbs under my belt. Pounds 27 and 28 came off v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y but that's okay, as long as the trend is downwards.

I follow Barry Sears' The Zone. I play table tennis. With practices and coaching that amounts to 6 hours exercise per week which is more or less aerobic (depending on how much effort I put in - unfortunately it's possible to play t t without breaking a sweat!)

I have just joined a gym to focus on adding strength training and swimming, to try and shock these last 12 pounds into leaving home.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing your stories!

I just found this Spark team and am looking forward to being a member. I've been wanting to drop the last 10 pounds forever! I've maintained for quite awhile although as I get a little older (currently 47) I've been noticing changes in my body and metabolism. I need to get the last 10 pounds off before it turns into more. I'm an avid cyclist and Spin instructor so I have the cardio portion down. I've been focusing more on my strength training since muscle is key to bumping up the metabolism. I'm hoping this team will help! Glad to be here!

Hi!
I haven't been serious with my eating ever since I got "sorta" happy with my figure, but that is about to end. Not this week and not the next, because I have exams due, but after that, I will kick some serious butt! Looking forward to joining the 1lb a week challenge! My goal is to be 140lbs, currently I am 149 (but had a lot of soy sauce yesterday..).
So: I will drink more water, and eat less sweets. I'm not that worried about the workouts (3x or more a week for over a year now).
So here's to achieving goals! emoticon

Hello Everyone! I am just so excited to joing this Spark Team. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since joining SparkPeople. I've had health problems the past year adding to my weight. I recently was able to fit back into my jeans! Sitting in them is another goal! LOL! I'll get there hopefully with the motivation, support and ideas from this group. I have two teens and one that has special needs and the other teen is just 15 and pushes the limits. The past 4 weeks I really worked on other ways to deal with my stress or health probs other than snacking or getting healthier alternatives for snacks. I've been really good in tracking my nutrition and changing the portions. I'm satisfied with less and increased my water intake!! That is a huge victory. Just started strength training 3X a week for the first time in my life!!! I'm hoping this team will bring me ideas to lose the next several pounds to bring me to my healthy weight.

Hi! I'm Jasmine, and I have been back for a week and a half!

I started at 148, currently at 146 and I'm hoping for 136 (my pre-college weight)...or close to it.

I lost a couple pounds since tracking and running regularly again and I'm really excited to be part of a team where I can be held accountable.

I run around three miles a day, sometimes I do interval training (cause otherwise what I do would barely qualify as a slow run haha). And I do strength training every day.

My motivation has been slipping this last week and idon't want to back track when I'm only 3 lbs away from my goal. My biggest goal now is TONING. Just looking for something to keep me motivated and i'm hoping this will help :)

Hi, my name is Amanda and I am a 46 yo SAHM in the Kansas City area. In May 2011 I completed a process of losing 45 lbs which put me at 142 lbs which is where I am today. In July last year I had foot surgery and almost 6 months of physical therapy therefore limiting my exercise. I am excited to say that I have maintained my weight loss but I am now ready to finish my journey and get to that goal size 8 or about 128 lbs. I am working out at home using videos, some cardio equipement and other workout supplies. School has started for the kids and I need to re-ignite my passion and routine for finishing my journey.

I look forward to connecting and supporting your ladies in your journeys!

Hi there everyone emoticon

I'm just someone who hasn't really been exercising regularly since secondary school. As a result I have gained a few kg and wish to get rid of it! I can just about fit the size that I am at right now and it's not really comfortable. Problem is that I am already fairly skinny and it really is just fat I need to get rid of on the lower part of my body. I exercise daily but I don't feel I'm getting results yet but I am going keep going! emoticon

Hi everyone,

I've lost 40 pounds over the past 2 years through lifestyle changes (vegetarian diet/joined a gym). My goal is to be within a healthy weight range for my age and height, which means losing those last 10 pounds! I enjoy strength training and cardio at the gym, walking my dogs, and cross-country skiing. Looking forward to winning this battle once and for all! emoticon

Hey! I'm Lisa, and I'm 20. With the exception of three bad weeks I've been at 10lbs to go since March. Definitely hoping to lose the last 10, preferably before the end of the summer. I'm a everything in moderation kind of girl. If I want to eat ice cream out of the tub, I'm going to (I count my teaspoons of course) but I try to make the best of my limited control over food choices (living with parents/meal plan). I run three times a week (couch 2 5k), do a bunch of different cardio videos, strength training and am looking to add yoga in.

Hi everyone! I've been on SP since 2009 and I've finally lost all the weight I've gained in undergrad. :) I have about 7-10 pounds left to lose, and I'd love to have more Sparkfriends that are at a similar stage in their weight loss journey. I use the nutrition tracker nearly every day, I walk & do yoga videos for exercise, and I am on Sparkpeople more than Facebook...haha! I also love to bake and cook so anyone else that loves recipes and suggesting new foods to try, don't be afraid to hit me up! :)

Hi, I'm hoping to meet some individuals in similar situations. I went from 182 in Nov 2011 to 144 now. I had a goal of 125lbs but my general doctor nixed that a couple of days ago and told me 20lbs more less would be too much. I have mixed feelings but, for now, I'm going to listen to him. So my goal is 135lbs and I'm only 9 pounds away. I'm trying to just focus on the process now - the regular exercise and the calorie monitoring rather than what the scale says. I guess this is the first transition to maintenance.

Hi, I'm Tanya and very shy when it comes to putting myself out there. I have reached one of my goals--from 160 the 3rd week of November to 140 the first week of February to 115 the first week of June 2012! I missed my goal day by a pound, but I have learned that weight fluctuates day to day and I should not live my the scale. I only weigh myself once a week, at the same time, to try to be consistent.

I joined this team to try and meet my final goal weight of 105-110. I know these lbs will be harder as I continue to change my body composition from less fat to more muscle. I have been working with a personal trainer 2-3 days a week since the first week of February, and we have found that TRX and Kinesis are the best workouts for me because of balance/stability issues and also they force me to keep my core engaged constantly. I also walk 3-5 miles daily at a 12-15 min/mile pace and row 5,000 meters 3x/week.

Anyway, I am starting a beginners yoga class today (haven't practice yoga in 3+ years due to illness and injury) so thought it might be a good day to take a chance and reach out...and maybe make a new friend! I know that working on my stress levels is an important part of not only my physical, but my mental fitness as well.

November 20, 2011: 161 lbs, BP 160/110
July 31, 2012: 109.6 lbs, BP 110/65
October 1, 2012: 109 lbs, BP 110/60
Two goals reached: 115 lbs, 110 lbs
Next goal: lower body fat % and increase strength; not sure if I need to lose any more weight!

I'm Lauren. I've been a part of SparkPeople for a few years now. I've started using it again recently. I gained some weight in the fall and was looking to drop about 10 pounds. I'm about 8 pounds underway give or take a few. I just came back from vacation and a wedding weekend, so it's time to get back on track.

Hello!

I'm Jan~joined sparks in March. Over a period of time, I managed to lose 30# ........ which has made me look and feel like a new person. I have a very physical job in which I am on my feet and do a great deal of walking daily, plus consistent work-outs. The scales seem to linger, resistant to budge. Seems I noticed post menopause made the work harder than in previous years. So, I am hoping to meet some people in the same boat or similar and shed some light for one another. Look forward to meeting you. Feel free to come visit my spark-page. emoticon ..............( I do food tracking) .......... Jan

Hello everyone! I've been running for the last three years, but in the last year, I have not been running consistently, and haven't been doing any other form of exercise so I've lost lots of muscle and am just in need of some focus and more accountability to lose the last 10 pounds...

Looking forward to getting some motivation and being accountable to shed these last 10!

HI! have been a spark people member for years. Last year I was down to 122 which was too thin and had lost too much weight, I am 5'7" almost 50 years old this january. Last year I fell and broke my collar bone. And started to gain weight but let it get out of hand..so I have been trying to lose the weight again this time more slowly and for good hopefully! I would be happy if I got down to 135 but very happy if I could get to t 130. my BMI is 22.1 which is healthy but I have alot of belly fat that I want to get rid of that is where I regained my weight, my stomach.
I am glad that this forum is here. I also post on the low carb forum.

I will not give up in this weight loss journey, nor this need to be AF.

I joined SparkPeople over a year ago and was doing well too. I got lazy and stop tracking but I did get to my goal weight (on my own) for my best friend's wedding. Then I got out of control with my snacking and not watching my calories. Well, little by little, i gained those 10 lbs back 6 months after the wedding.
I decided to get back on the SparkPeople wagon and try again. I need to take accountability for what I put in my body since exercising is never a problem for me. I am very active and my whole family is too,

Hello All!
My name is Kate. I'm from SC. I've been on Spark People on and off for 6 years. I got serious about it this time and have managed to lose 30lbs, but now I'm down to the last 10 and that scale is not moving! Any and all tips from people that have gotten over that last hump would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Team!

I'm Carlah and I've been a member for a couple of years. I normally have a fight with 6 pounds, but this go round it was 10! Suppose the added stress played a small role. I have lost some and am almost at my goal. That's the easy part. Maintaining is always the challenge. I do my best to stay active, track my food, and drink plenty of water.

I am glad to have found this team where everyone really does have the same goals!

Hi everyone,

My name is Charlene and I have returned to Sparks. I use to be active but I left and in the process gained 15 pds over the last three years. My main goal is to lose 10 pds; 15 would be great.

I just need to get back to tracking my food, working out and being held accountable.

Looking forward to being an active member.

Char

Hi there, Only 9 more pounds to go. I know 153 might sound like a lot but I am 5'11" tall. The trouble I am having now is muscle weighs more than fat, so even though my waste, neck, and hips are shrinking....the pound numbers are only decreasing so so slowly. Like only a pound a month and I've been working hard at this. Maybe too hard because I'm starting to see muscle definition.

Welcome to Jennifer, Irene, GROOVGRL, POINTAFTR & everyone!

Congrats to you on your weight loss! Most of the people on this team have been where you are & it's hard to find a team when you're so close to goal.

This is a great team....check out the different threads & get involved. The partner thread is a great one & pretty active.

GROOVGRL, how exciting to be getting married in St Lucia! A wedding is a great motivator!

POINTAFTR, personally I find it easier to just stay away from eating out period! I cannot control myself with those unhealthy options. LOL.

Irene, what do you stitch? I am a knitter....avid knitter. LOL. I am also a grandmother so you're not alone here! LOL.

Hello! I am back on sparkpeople after being away for almost 5 years. During that time I lost some weight, gained some, lost some.... I always fluctuate by about ten pounds. Unfortunately I am at the high end at the moment and my wedding is March 6th in St. Lucia so I am going to lose 8 to 10 pounds before then. :)

Hello!

I've been hovering back and forth between the same 5 pounds all year. Exercise is not my problem - The See Food Diet is. Left alone I'm fine, but buffets tend to get the best of me. I'm getting better at it, and plan to kick the habit once and for all! emoticon

Hi. I just joined the team as I am stuck on the last 10 lbs or so. I am not new to Sp I am in other teams and I am co leader of Dont let The Scale Rule Your Life. Unfortuantly it still rules mine.
I have lost over 30 lbs and feel so much better. I am fitter and upped my execise a great deal.
I am not sure I am right for this team. You all seem so slim and fit already!
I am an oldie and heavier than most on here. But medical advice is just another 10 lbs.! If and when I make it I shall look at how i feel and see if I wnat or need to go for a few more pounds but for now its 10 lbs. So will an over weight Granny fit in your team? I am English I have many interests. Hope to chat more on various threads. Irene emoticon

New to this team and I have 8 pounds left to lose to get to my bootcamp weight from 13 years ago....after having 3 kids (9, 4, and 1 years old). Done with having kids so I wanna look good and not be a fat mommy anymore. Started this journey last year after having my son and was 207 and now trying hard to get these last few pounds to shift.

My husband and I are trying for our second child now but I am still trying to lose those last few pounds before that happens. I have already lost about 60lbs since having my first child 14 months ago. Now I just want to be at a healthy weight for me. I would like to lose more but right now I am just concentrating on these 5lbs. emoticon

Hi, I've been participating in a local weight loss contest, Health Quest, that will end in 2 weeks. So far I've lost 43 lbs, but I'm really struggling with that last 7 lbs. I've read over your team posts here today & feel like this team will help keep me motivated to reach my goal.

Regardless of the contest results, and whether I make it to my goal by contest end or not, I still want to reach that goal & maintain my weight this time! After a bad weekend, I'm actually up 2 lbs, so now have 9 lbs to go. But that's just a temporary setback. I'm ready to make it to the end & want to do what it takes! I'm happy to be a part of this team!

Hi - I joined SP last November and have lost over 40 pounds since then -- in fact I am now at my lowest weight since high school (which was long, long ago)...and definitely in the home stretch. I could stop here and be happy, but I am curious what my body would look like 5 pounds (and perhaps 10) from where I am now as I still think my thighs are a bit heavier than I'd like and my knees aren't quite what I'd like. Very happy with upper body and overall tone though after all the exercising of the last months.

So really just looking for support from a group going through the same issues - and sometimes I feel on other teams that the vanity pounds just sound annoying to people who have 50-100 pounds to lose and are struggling with eating disorders, etc.

I just need more consistency and the drive to continue on and not 'settle'.

Hope that isn't too much information -- I'm glad to be here!

I have been with SP since 2005. In the last year I have lost 54 pounds. I would like to lose 10 more pounds.

I have a a son, DIL and two beautiful grandsons - 5 and 1.

I am disabled so it has been tough at times but I have never given up. I hope by joining this team, you all will inspire me to lose some more weight.

I started out at 208.6 in July of 2010. I now weigh 154.4 and my goal is 140, but I will be happy with 145. I am losing the weight for my health and to help my chronic pain. I want to be around for a long time to enjoy my grandchildren.

Hi all!

I am a 34 year old, married mom of 2 boys, aged 7 and 11. I have been a sparker for nearly 4 years now, but i really finally and truly got serious about my health and fitness this past January. I hit my all time high of 192 pounds, and i mean all time high, even when i was pregnant i didn't weigh that much!

The difference this time was that my husband was also motivated to lose weight, and it has been so much easier doing this thing together. He has lost nearly 45 pounds. Myself, I have lost 33 pounds. I have about 10 more to lose. I had given myself a goal, of course, but as I get closer to it, and i feel stronger and more capable of doing things, sometimes my goal changes. Right now, I would love to lose another 10 pounds by my birthday, which is August 14. I will be turning 35, and i want to look better than i did at 25 ( already there actually!) I have been stuck at the 160 mark for about 6-8 weeks now, and i have recently begun to amp up my workout schedule.
i used to work, we are living in Saudi Arabia right now, and I was teaching at an international school. now we are moving back to Canada in 2 weeks, and I will not be working for about 6 months. What better time to really focus on me and my fitness and health! I am really looking for some support, encouragement and tough love. I love to check on others pages and love it when people check on mine and keep me on track! I guess this is a little wordy, but i am so focussed right now, I can't help but pour it all out! Add me as a sparkfriend if you like to have someone who is full of support!!!!

It's one life. Don't waste a minute.

Remember, your start weight is someone else's goal weight. Always remember to be grateful for what you have!

Hi I joined Spark people in February. At that time I weighed 170 pounds. I have lost 17 pounds so far using Spark People!! I am now only 3 pounds away from my goal and I seem stuck. I have not been able to shed the last few pounds that I want. It is going slower than the others. I am also struggling with motivation and trying to find something to do that I enjoy to shed these last pounds.

Bonjour!

2 winters ago I weighed 134 an all time high for me. It had slowly crept on a pound at a time over a few years. I joined SP and learning portion sizes helped me to lose 9 lbs over 12 months. I have always exercised a lot so working out has never been a problem.

I have been stuck at 125 lbs since Christmas though. I would really like to be 120 lbs.

Just hit the keyboard with my elbow and lost two paragraphs of carefully worded post--so here's the quick story:

~5 pounds to go. A friend recently told me "yeah, you think it's so hard working on those five pounds--just remember, working so hard on those five pounds is the main reason you haven't been working so hard on the next five pounds."

There's a lot of truth in that, but I'd prefer to be working on the five pounds that are FIVE POUNDS lower than the 150-155 range.

Man--I am hungering for that half pound that will get me in the 145-150 range--but evidently not enough that it's happened in the last two weeks!

I need to go join that "one pound a week" goal.... emoticon

Hi ladies,
I'm back on Spark and committed to tracking. I'm just trying to get in the habit of tracking calories right now. I've been sporadic with my workouts - I'm a divorced mom working full-time. (Excuses, I know!) I do love running. I also love cooking and eating great food.

I've realized that I love reading the dramatic weight loss stories, but they aren't my story. I am just a bit heavier than I want to be. I would like to lose 7 pounds, maybe 8. And keep it off!!! I also want to do more strength training. So I need to figure out a strategy and lifestyle that helps me get there. I'm also looking for Spark friends - not really sure how that works, but I know it's good to have people sharing your journey.

I have a cute new bikini that I'd like to wear this summer. Today - 153. Goal - 147.

If you are looking for spark friends, friend me and I'll friend you back!

DASH is a heart healthy eating plan that emphasizes high fiber and low fat foods. Basically I eat similarly to the food pyramid recommendations but make lower calorie choices so I can lose weight. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes run in my family and my lipid profile was looking pretty rough for awhile so my doc recommended I push my eating in that direction.

Hi. I've been a member of SP for about 3 yrs and have lost and gained the same 12 lbs over & over. I'm determined this time to make it stick!! I'm doing low carb, high protein with lots of vegs & fruits. Working out everyday even if it's only 10 mins. I've got 4 lbs to go.

ONESPARROWFLIES, What is the DASH diet?

Hi Everyone!

I lost around 40 pounds a few years ago and had maintained awhile but recently gained back 12 pounds. I have been working on losing it since March and just passed my old goal weight by one pound! I'm keeping my momentum going and pursuing a flat stomach and leaner thighs as well as some more serious fitness goals this summer.

As far as my program goes, I'm working toward following the DASH diet as a permanent lifestyle and am becoming a runner. I just finished the c25k program and am looking forward to starting swimming classes next month for cross training.

Hi
I have been with the 10 pounds and under for a while.
I actually lost about 8 pounds, but would love to lose another 5.
I have been on the modified low carb diet - lean meats, veggies, berries etc and treadmill about 5 times a week. I am trying to change up the food maybe to lowfat.
Just wondering what program is everyone else on.
