Perhaps what you need to do is not "stay away" from those things, but instead, figure out how to balance with them. Controlling portions of things may let you adjust better. I find that when I want to deny myself something completely, it's more difficult than if I allow myself tastes or earn it with a workout.

Hi Dannah - this is a fun team but we mostly talk hair around here. We are a great group, but I get most of my weight goal support from other arenas.
Spark has teams for every facet of life - your recreational interests, your diet plan, your location, even your current weight. I had a great time when I joined the 'Leaving 200-ville' group - it's a whole set of teams based on meeting weight loss goals. The next team down is 'Leaving 190-ville', etc. It was really fun and you can hang out with folks in your weight range and encourage each other.

Or if you are competetive at all there are a whole bunch of Challenge threads. There is also a 'Biggest Loser' group. Spark really does have something for everyone. The food tracker is pretty good, once you get the hang of it. I have a huge list of 'favorite' foods which makes it easy to fill in my daily sheet.

Have fun looking around the site - everyone is really supportive and friendly.

I am a 3c Caucasian curly-girl, brand-ie new to Spark, and this is my first team that I have joined. I eat well, if only I could stay away from dairy and baked goods. My least favorite thing to do is exercise. I've had great success in the past with Weight Watchers, so I know this approach of journaling and online support will work for me. Please keep me in touch!
