Kris,
You can do both with added tools for coping with life's ups and downs. What has kept me successful for 13 years has been 12 stepping with Nicotine Anonymous. It works like AA. Anyone who works the program stays quit. Those who don't work the program live with the addiction actively. Users are also very welcomed to be members so they can take time to prepare their quit. I have found that it's a blessing.

Thank you for the support! Still doin OK. Certain times of day REALLY bother me. No one has ever smoked in my house BUT multiple friends & family members do smoke & it has been difficult when they go out to smoke. Sadly... it is part of my job to teach smoking cessation! It is much easier to say than actually do! Trying t o maintain my recent weight loss and quit smoking at the same time. I just pray doing both doesn't come back to Bite me!!!!

KRIS,
Congratulations!

The sleeping extra is normal when you quit. As far as a headache goes, make sure you are drinking LOTS of water to flush out your system. Also, whenever you can stretch get up and jaunt around the block. It's the only way you'll breathe in some fresh wholesome air. As smokers the only deep breaths we took were the toxic poison mix.

You can do this!

Going to the meetings in this program and working the steps happened to be the missing link for my abstinence. I am now 13 years clean and free, still a NicA member, and very grateful for the whole process.
